A blacksmith by Maciek Przeklasa (2021?):
propaganda: The badassery of the subject goes a long way. He looks so comfortable, like he just asked an old friend for a light. Also, consider this. Too much light or contrast would blur the heat gradient on the horseshoe and/or the details of the subject's face, but both are so clear. The sparks on the tip of the cigarette give you some dynamics, and the background is atmospheric but subtle. Just a really great portrait.
about the artist: he is on ig and fb, and he appears to be hire-able for weddings

Self-portrait by Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz, c. 1912:
submitted description: Witkacy's self-portrait on broken glass negative // black and white photo, only the head of the artist is visable reflected in a broken mirror
propaganda: Some critics say he broke the glass negative on purpose to show his 'shattered self', others that it was an accident. Anyway, I love how unsettling this photography is. Makes me shiver.

Self-portrait with an elf on my hand by Maria Pawlikowska-Jasnorzewska, c. 1920
[no propaganda has been submitted]
about the artist: Maria Pawlikowska-Jasnorzewska is probably best known for her poetry :)
Falsehood of a Woman – Self-Portrait with the portrait of Maryla Grossman by Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz, 1927:
propaganda: Basically Witkacy was commissioned this drawing by a rich woman (Maryla Grossmannowa) and while he initially refused to do it the money she offered made him change his mind. Since, as stated by the rules of his company, the client had no input in the artwork and was forbidden from criticizing it, we now have 3 portraits beautifully contained within this canvas. One is Maryla drawn in his type A (the more “polished” one, which was probably the only one she wanted to commission), while behind her on the left is Witkacy himself drawing her “true self” in type D (which was his own interpretation of the subject’s psychology, which in her case looks rather demonic). Also do you see this stupid fucking cat? It’s hilarious
