I think GRRM used Rhaenyra's pregnancy with Visenya as an excuse to remove Rhaenyra from (the narrative) her own story.

I agree. George had done numerous things to devoid rhaenyra of any agency and active role during the war and even some events (like all the velaryon boys dying is obviously because their time of being on the pages have come to an end.)

I love him as a writer but there's a lot to criticize with the way he constantly chose to approach writing women and the obstacles/sufferings they face
