finished HnK. first half was great third quarter was really good and sometimes fantastic last quarter almost completely lost me. is stopping caring about the characters because you never spend any time with them and then, like, spoilers happens the POINT or did i just read it wrong

#cried a bit at it but didn’t actually like the ending #disliked how the series handled its approach to ‘everything ends eventually’ in general tbh. i ended up just almost-completely disconnecting #with any of the individual characters #and none of the newer ones introduced around the endzone felt sympathizable #apologies to the author but i’m also a fucking human still #a truly non-anthropomorphic world was not achieved in the story and is wholly unappealing as a conclusion to a story #it’d be better without any dialogue or ‘characters’ at all at that point #<- actual earnest critique . it’d’ve worked way better.#in the interest of making a story about letting go of ones connections to life or whatever because humanity is corrupt #it leads to ME letting go of my connections to the damn story. its a pity.#i have let go and moved on. to like. idfk what i’m reading next actually i was considering claymore but i dont actually expect it to be good #also the ‘romance’ arc was. :/#which started in the third quarter by my mental ruling but was part of the. ughhh sorry i hate how all the gems interpersonal relatuonships #with each other were pathologized and (un)resolved it fucking sucked i dont like it
