Mushrooms that grow in a circle is in both Swedish and Finnish called a Witch ring or just like in English and other languages a Fairy ring. In Nordic folklore Witch rings are surrounded by many different superstitions. If you left the ring of mushrooms alone you would usually be okay. But if you stepped inside the circle this could cause disease, or at the very least nausea. If you for example would pee in the ring you would be covered in blisters. Or if you would fall asleep inside the ring you would sleep for one hundred years.

And also, what kind of magic are people able to use? I’ve been having brain worms all day over this game, and it led to a few questions tag surfing couldn’t find the answer to unfortunately! There are creatures and beings capable of magic. None of them look like humans, though, and any claim of a human to have magic has wound up being proven a scam in the end.

Humans are not capable of performing magic in the world of Obscura. They are capable of utilizing things that have their own inborn magic, though! Potioncraft is effectively chemistry but with another dimension (the magical dimension~) to consider, of example. The witchring that Keir's gang stole in his route is another inherently magical object which can be made use of.

Magical objects and beings are quite rare in the world in general, but since rare, powerful, and exotic objects tend to end up in the marketplace at some point or another, it's more common under the mountain.

Because I think it was drilled into Geralt how to do it and he has excellent mutated awareness of the space around himself and his fucked up modern AU jeep, but he usually doesn't care and just parks... somehow. And Emhyr would be very exact and serious about it, and Geralt's jayparking would be a thorn in his eye and something to be complacent about until the day they're in a car together and Geralt HAS to fit the car into a tight space and kinda does a donut over the road, landing exactly inside the slot.
