ok i’m assuming you mean the “big 3” because shit like being attracted to objects is basically a different thing entirely like who cares

i’ll start by saying that some people would probably consider me pro-para, because i recognize that these are disorders and i don’t think someone should be shot for having them when it’s not fully in their control. that being said, i have problems with the pro-para community and for that i don’t identify as pro-para.

let me make it clear that if you are anything that’s not strictly anti-contact (none of that “hmm i have a nuanced contact stance” bullshit) honestly i think you’re pretty gross and my whole understanding and open minded thing doesn’t work with that. people who say “um i’m anti-contact i GUESSS but i think contact stances are dumb lol” are also incredibly shady.

my second, and perhaps main issue (beside the stuff that gets into felony territory, that’s also kind of a different thing) is that the space is very anti-recovery. you’d think it’s a place for people with these disorders to help each other out, and it definitely is in some areas, and that’s probably what it’s SUPPOSED to be, but in too many it’s blatantly pretending these disorders aren’t disorders, they aren’t inherently a bad thing, and excusing creepy behavior with the fact that it is a disorder.

i try my best to be cool with everyone who has good intentions, and i also want to be understanding. this is the main reason i have/had a couple of para mutuals. BUT i have had too many who fly just a bit too close to the sun with, for example, things they say about actual child actors, and in one instance i had a 24 year old mutual who mentioned how they would date 17 year olds in highschool as a sort of “loophole”, and it progressed to admitting to and defending the spreading of CSEM. that really left a bad taste in my mouth and i have stayed away from most adult paraphiles after that.

Tldr: hurting animals and children is bad, and if you have the desire to do those things you at the very least should not encourage it by surrounding yourself in a space of people who may or may not slowly but surely get you to justify abuse. if you are a paraphile who understands that it’s not ok to hurt anyone and ultimately hope to get help, i have respect for you and don’t think you should be demonized as much as you are, but i do not necessarily support the pro-para movement in its current state due to bad experiences I’ve had.

oh boy this is a good one im so happy to answer this

first and foremost my favorite ao3 author is bunnysuicidepact. she created perhaps my favorite story point blank, Mourning a Lack of a Nicotine Addiction, and its sequel, Idiot Jackrabbit and the Rx Fairy. literally changed my life maybe. basically follows the uniquely fucked up relationship between a son (lцdwig) and his dad (jеrma) and i think about them every day of my life.

she’s also written a bunch of other fics that i just can’t not reread every time i come across them in my bookmarks, like Counting Backwards, Things You’ve Injured which follows the tenuous marriage between drеw goodеn and dаnny gonzаlez.

Playdate (Gone Wrong) is also great but definitely way more straightforwardly dark than the previous examples and i’m still waiting for that chapter 5. check all of the author’s stuff out, she’s currently making a comic based on nicotine and i’m hyped about how it’s going so far, she’s a great artist too.

Pocket Money and Reel Around the Fountain by HairyItalianAss are good if you’re looking for something long, crazy, and obviously but adorably self-indulgent. the former is about lцdwig becoming a pornstar after freshly turning 18 and he’s groomed into abandoning everything and becoming a terrible, unrecognizable version of himself by jеrma and everyone else just kind of has to let it happen until it reaches a breaking point, and the latter essentially follows that same idea, just in a different setting. they’re more different than i’m making it seem.

if you’re looking for тgc stuff, i adore the series secrets of wintergirls (boys) by lemonv (aka mootie seelie), which is about grцnk and lаrry living every shedtwt obslovetwt teenager’s dream of having a really fucked up relationship where you cut each other and shit.

Redpill (dadson) or bluepill (brocon)

redpill i think… brocon is cool but dadson is just so uniquely fucked up and that’s the appeal. being kissed on the lips by the same man who took you on fishing trips and it’s nothing like the way a mother kisses her baby. there’s just so much you can do, and brocon is great and there’s lots of ways to explore it but it seems more like a porn category i want it to be like that on the surface, but it’s more terrifying than you could imagine when you really think about it
