Wipe the Slate Clean

So in all honesty I am sitting here trying to figure out what to write about first…

What do I want to hit first? What topic do I want to start this blog off with? 

I think I will start off by saying that we all are, Fearfully and Wonderfully Made. Not to get too religious on people but you were made the way you were meant to be. You are perfect. You are original. You are literally one of a kind. There will never be anyone like you. 

Isn’t that amazing? 

I know for many people out there and especially young girls it is hard to try to tune out the judgment. To look society in the face and say, “No, I won’t fit into your little box. I won’t change myself to makes others happy. I am one of a kind and I will stay that way”. 

It’s like there is this little invisible board that has pictures and descriptions of what a man and women should look like. What will make them “successful, happy, and loved” because they look this ways.

Women:

Medium height

Small waist

Medium - Large breast

Thigh Gap

Perfect Teeth

^^^^ Who knows those are just off the top of my head

Men: (Since I am not one…bare with me)

Nice teeth

Full head of hair

basically toned all over their body

I know its hard to throw all of these expectations you hold yourself out the window. I am 21 years old and I still can’t fully do that. Its because though that I grew up with society screaming at me to be thin and to obtain a level of beauty that I couldn’t possibly reach. I’ve learned though that there is more to life and to myself then my pant size.

We need to work together to wipe the Society Image clean. To emphasize not looks, but intelligence, integrity, creativity, kindness, leadership, bravery, and innovation. 

This is it. This is the year we Wipe The Slate Clean.

This is my English Professor. This is also his last semester.
