tysm for the ask !! i'll do this for petra and valère from foapc bc i havent talked abt that wip in so long </3

by all metrics, petra should be a nobody. her mother is dead and her father is a common baker, but she was born with the misfortune of sharing a face with princess geneviève la fontaine of chaleslorail, and when the princess goes missing, she's picked up as her replacement. it was geneviève's original duty to summon a Prince with a capital P, a massively powerful eldritch horror that's meant to consume her from the inside out for the sake of rejuvenating the royal bloodline with magic. and everyone knows that only a royal can successfully summon a Prince, obviously, seeing as the royals told them so. but then petra comes out of the ordeal alive with valère by her side, and suddenly the pretender to the throne's claim is very much legitimate. valère meanwhile is desperate for some anchor to contain their power, and petra is exactly the thing to do it (shes also very easy to make fun of, and valère has always liked the human idea of banter). their tie is killing them both but they are also dependent on each other for survival, and if they just happen to start simping for each other a bit then whos to say (me. im saying)
