They join the team fresh and starry-eyed after Hogwarts and never amount to anything.” “Maybe you don’t know how to train them. Coach Villeneuve didn’t have the same problem when the Poitier Pélicans won the European Cup with three Muggleborns in the roster.” The woman’s face turns purple at the words, and judging by the way she twitches, Lily can imagine that, were she not holding a glass, she would be pulling up her sleeves. “I hope you have no intention of ever playing professionally, Mr Potter. The way you speak to your elders will be making the rounds in the League, and I can’t see it being appreciated.” “Fortunately for me,” James Potter responds without the tiniest flinch, “I do, in fact, have other talents than yelling at people and throwing balls around.” His hand reaches for the small of Lily’s back; she almost jumps at the contact, but disguises it as turning to look at him. “As does Lily.” He looks at her, something unassumingly soft in his hazel eyes despite the tension in his manner. “How about we find some more intellectually stimulating company?”

happy STS! what crossover would you love to see between your WIP and something else (whether it be another one of your WIPs, someone else's WIP, or an existing piece of media)? -ditzysworld

Ooh this is a fun question, thank you so much! 💕

First WIP that came to mind was a crossover with Sisterhood of Blood and @bookish-actor 's project Just Playing The Game. I'd love to see what video game versions of Eliza and Rosalind would be like! And how they would get alone with JPtG's OCs.

Another fun cross over would Love Is and @alcego-writes 's diesel punk wlw project! Mainly because the idea of Kit and Emily being in that setting would be both interesting and chaotic.

James Potter the Great? What's that about?

So, funny story!

You know The Great James Potter. This one came from a first draft of the first 4-5 pages, which lived on my external hard drive and which I went through when I started writing again. I knew I'd worked more on it at some point after 2013, but couldn't find the newer file.

Well, I did find the newer file about a year ago in my emails as an attachment to a friend/beta, so James Potter the Great (working title xD) is what I'm going to do with those bits I didn't manage to incorporate in TGJP! In order not to write the same story twice, though, I decided to give Lily a different journey this time - more focused on the challenge of being Muggleborn and how she ends up with someone who the public considers "out of her league". I'm aiming for a long oneshot - I'm 5k words in it and nowhere near halfway.

Here's a snippet:

“What –” she repeats, incredulously now. “You don’t really believe –” “No, but they do.” Mary’s eyes flash. “And they’re all going to make your life a living hell if you set your eyes on a pureblood. You have to be careful.” Lily can only huff in response.  Mary is Muggleborn herself, and she has been the target of pureblood awfulness a little too often for her liking; more often than Lily, who is a prefect, a teachers’ favourite, and infinitely more likely to retaliate. It’s only natural that she’s learned to watch her back, and she cares enough to not want her friend to find herself in the same position. Yet, the fact that she’s right does not quell Lily’s indignation. They’re all witches here, Lily more capable than most, thank you very much, and quite pretty as well, if she says so herself. She should be free to fancy whoever she bloody well wants to. (Not that she fancies James Potter. But, you know. If she wanted to.)

Are these irrelevant yet?

I did try to post them earlier!!! Buuuuuut tumblr (or my internet) was being stupid and wouldn’t let me post them earlier..... Up here is Nixie and Teagan from my new WIP Just Playing the Game. 

In the post-apocalyptic video game that these two exist in, everyone is given a Classification at 13 years old. They then leave their families to go learn how to be a Hero, Villain, Sidekick, etc. However, when someone kills the Hero that Teagan has been paired with, the Sidekick must find help from Nixie, a Villain. There’s a slow-burn wlw romance as well as many dangers and hijinks that occur! Both ladies are disabled, but that doesn’t stop them from loving each other as they try to stop whatever is targeting the Heros of the world

Happy storyteller saturday!! What are three scenes/bits of your story you’re really proud of and three that you have planned and are excited to write? - maybeillwriteit

I'd say two of the pieces I'm most proud of are the two I've shared on Tumblr. There's one that consists of an argument between Nixie and Teagan early on in their relationship and another detailing the aftermath of Nixie's Role reveal. I also have written the scene where Nixie's brother, Elias, dies and Teagan is forced to run away. Now I just need to make them longer so they can like full proper scenes

I am REALLY looking forward to writing about Mal and her dads!!! This family is just so good and I love them to bits!! I think they're gonna have to be a bigger part of the story than I originally thought! I also want to write about Teagan and Nixie being soft girlfriends together and just realizing they love each other.... (Still working out how to do that enemies to lovers thing) and I am also really really excited to write out a moment of the climax that is VERY spoilery, but so very angsty!

are there any like, death screen type things or anything like that in JPtG??

Hmm.... That's a really interesting question! And one I hadn't thought about yet (so thank you for bringing it to my attention 💜)

Yes, there is. When you die, you come across a big black expanse that says GAME OVER and what your cause of death was. There is one button underneath: Continue?

Some wait a long time to hit the continue button, but when they do, and they all will, they are able to go into their preferred afterlife

Now this is obviously different for the player characters. Because the Code knows that the Player wants to restart if they have died. Therefore, anyone who can access Saves can turn back time with none the wiser

I only say anyone because there are multiple towns the Player can chose to play in and each has their own Hero that the Player can chose to play

happy STS :). Where is your main WIP set, geographically? How (if at all) does the setting influence the plot?

Happy STS!! I'm terrible sorry this is a few weeks late!! I am so awful at time management...

Okay by geographically, I'm going to assume you mean to disregard the video game setting and talk more about the town Twin Tusks (please let me know if not I'm interpreting this correctly)

So Twin Tusks is a pretty stand up town, but they have certain rules they want their citizens to abide by. Mayor Haverfield runs a peaceful town, so they don't tolerate any Villains or Thugs round these parts. (usually there is a threshold of some kind so 13 year old kids aren't just thrown out with no where to go *glares at Nixie's parents*)

So it's actually a super big deal when Nixie goes into town to ask Teagan to forgive her and help her find out what's happening. Not only because my girl had SEVERE social anxiety, but because everyone in the town hates her so vehemently

And it IS the Southwest... dehydration can happen to anyone... Which can lead to heat exhaustion. And wouldn't that be a shame if that happened to someone we knew

Happy STS! 🎉 What inspired you to start your WIP Just Playing The Game?

Hello, friend!! And happy STS to you!

JPtG actually came to me as a dream! I remember running around with another woman and we were trying to fight off a bit goopy monster using turn based fighting (like in a video game), but we eventually had to go about it in a different way because it wasn't taking turns. That's all I remember of the original dream now, but it's morphed into JPtG! Trying to come up with the genre was the hardest part haha!

Happy STS!! Are there any major holdiays in your WIP? How do your characters celebrate something like the new year?

Hello and happy STS!!! I'm thinking JPtG will be set during late summer/early fall, so there aren't really any holidays mentioned. It is possible that since Will is Jewish, he may celebrate Tish'a B'Av during the course of the book (but I'm still trying to figure out Jewish holidays and when they happen since they change every year)

As for new years, the adults would all get together in Nixie's house for some drinks. They'd probably also play some pool or horseshoes during the course of the night. Mal would be bored out of their mind, but make an effort to eat as much as they could
