#wip i'll probably never finish but can work as a one shot

Weilan WIP (almost) Wednesday?

The doors to the lecture hall fly open. A few of his students yelp in surprise. 

Shen Wei is on edge immediately. He turns towards the door quickly, dark energy already swirling in his hand hidden behind his desk. It dissipates immediately when he sees it’s no other than his own bewildered husband who burst into his classroom so rudely. It doesn’t lessen the anxious pressure in his chest, though. If anything, he’s even more worried now.

Zhao Yunlan looks more put together than he has in days, as he has been hunched over his desk 24/7 trying to solve a case. His hair is still a mess but he has changed out of his pyjamas and seems to have even washed his face. There’s a confident, cocky grin on his face as he puts his hands in his pockets. “I’m sorry for interrupting class,” he apologises, “I need to borrow your professor for a moment, it’s an emergency. It will only take a moment, I promise.” 

A few of his students giggle and start whispering to each other. Shen Wei just ignores it, interacting will only make it worse. So, he just straightens his jacket and clears his throat. Then he nods curtly to Zhao Yunlan that he will follow him outside and gives the class a short instruction to keep them busy while he is gone.

Once out of the room, he immediately checks Zhao Yunlan for any sign of injury. “Zhao Yunlan what’s going on? Are you okay?” 

Zhao Yunlan sighs deeply, as if there’s something heavy weighing him down. He reaches out and adjusts Shen Wei’s tie, patting down his chest before finally speaking. “I think you forgot something very important when you left for work this morning.” 

He forgot something? That doesn’t sound right. Did he have essays to return to students? No, that’s for next week. Did he forget his notebook? No, he always leaves that in his office. What could he have possibly forgotten that is so important for Zhao Yunlan to rush over like this? 

Zhao Yunlan pats him on the chest one last time before grabbing his tie and pulling Shen Wei closer. He presses a firm kiss to his lips. 

“Zhao Yunlan,” Shen Wei sputters, utterly scandalised as he tries to make sense of what just happened. He quickly adjusts his tie again as he looks around to see if there was anyone around who could have seen them. Only Zhao Yunlan would dare to be so utterly shameless in the middle of Shen Wei’s workplace.

“Don’t you dare leave for work ever again without that,” Zhao Yunlan warns before turning around with a proud grin and sauntering off.

I know it’s super late for me to share this, but just as many would say, it’s better late than never. Thank you so much for the lovely people who tagged me to do this: @beomcoups, @shadowkoo, @kingofbodyrolls ♡

2024 started off smoothly…until it didn’t. The final quarter of the year has always been a hard time for me and it wasn’t that much different this year. As you can probably notice that I’ve been mostly absent ever since the end of October and I deeply apologise for that. I also regret not planning things properly and for not keeping up with my goals this year but that only means that I'll be dragging my WIP list towards the next year.

Thank you so much for everyone who has been there for me this year, and those of you who have stuck by me despite my inconsistencies. I really appreciate your presence on my blog, whether it’s through your likes and kudos, your reblogs, your comments and replies on my contents, and the kind words you sent me through my ask box. You guys have made it worthwhile for me to be here even after all these years, and I don’t think I can thank you enough for that. Here’s to mark the end of our wild journey through 2024 and enter the new year of 2025.

FIRST FIC OF 2024

My thoughts: This was…quite a journey. It’s been a while since I wrote a rom-com story and I was pleased to have been given the chance to write this idea through a collab. The final outcome wasn’t too disappointing either, since I enjoyed writing it and reading it afterwards. I’m glad everyone loved this story as well.

My thoughts: Okay, yeah…I cheated a little. But to be fair, this fic did get a lot of notes this year before and after the revamping process. I loved this story so much that I felt like it deserved a major makeover and I’m glad I managed to do it this year.

LONGEST FIC OF 2024

❥ The Bedroom Hymns — series, ongoing, last updated Sept 9th | 50k++ words | I’m too lazy to open each chapter to count the notes I’m so sorry lol

My thoughts: I know…I know, I need to update this one again. I had to take a break from this series because this fic literally became my main focus this year that a lot of my WIPs kept getting pushed back just so I could finish more of this. I had to stop at some point to finally set free my WIPs. I have to admit that I also lost my motivation to write this due to the lack of notes and responses that I got with each update no matter how much time I spent working on it (tacky, I know…but it is what it is). I still love and enjoy writing this, so more chapters are coming. I can see this fic becoming my main focus again in 2025 until I’m done with it.

LAST FIC OF 2024

❥ The Forsaken II: Tears of the Sea — posted Oct 24th | 712 notes

My thoughts: Holy hell…this fic. Who would’ve thought that I’d be revisiting siren!Taehyung this year after…3 years?? Thank you, whoever it was that sent this during my birthday event. I never expected to write a full fic for this to continue the original story and to answer a lot of your questions, but I’m glad I did!

My thoughts: I had one of those rare moments where I found myself enjoying the writing process of a story so much that things simply kept flowing until it became a full story. This one went twice the size planned (and commissioned) but I have no regrets. At all.

My thoughts: I initially planned to release something else for DPR Ian’s birthday this year. This one has always been my fave work that I wrote for Christian, so diving back into this to do a makeover and give it a major upgrade felt absolutely fulfilling.

yes!!! i try my best to but lskdjflsd sometimes it gets ahead of me or life gets all wonky. i really do try tho, and most of the time i'm pretty responsive <3

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

oh for sure it has to be To See You Again. it's an alternate ending to What I'd Give, and i've had ppl argue that that one is sadder, but i feel like (without getting into spoilers) the lack of resolution leaves this one feeling a bit more bleak. i felt bad writing it.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

probably yuji's plan, even tho it's an ongoing series. it's only "ongoing" bc of a series of spin-off one-shots that follow the ending, but they are all pretty happy. the series overall has very light angst too, but if not yuji's plan, then perhaps Closing the Distance.

Do you write crossovers?

naur but i have considered writing characters in other universes. idk tho, seems intimidating.

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

not hate in the traditional sense where someone is actively disliking my story or writing, but i do regularly get jumped by my readers for my angsty stuff. i wouldn't call it hate tho.

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

naur and i probably never will, but i do have little FLIES IN MY EARS that want me to.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

last i checked, naur. but im keeping an eye out bc im willing to throw hands over it ksfdjsdl

no, but i've had someone ask me if i ever will. i can't do the translating, but it would be cool if one of mine were.

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

YES OMFG!!!! @sunnyyflowerrs and i wrote pinkies together and it was SOOO MUCH FUN!!!! it's crazy like how well our writing styles meshed together, and i really liked working with her. i'm her number 1 fan fr so like this was just a dream to me. i loveee it and it's my third most liked fic!!!! i'd lovee to work with her again, and there are also some other writers that i hope to work with!

What’s your all-time favorite ship?

itafushi literally sucked me into the ao3 rabbit hole like nobody's business. i never read fan fiction ever in my life before june, and then next thing i know i'm writing a multi-chapter fic in august. now i have 13 itfs works and kfm socials on like. every app. crazy how that works.

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

i don't know if there's one that i don't think i'll ever finish. i hope to try and finish all of my works eventually, i guess the *only* thing that i could really think to put here is just that the yuji's plan one shots are going to keep going til i run out of ideas.

What are your writing strengths?

the kfm trio: angst, miscommunication, and tension. i feel like i really do well with tension, but i've been told that when my angst hits, it hits. also currently have my readers tweaking out in CTD with the miscomm, so we got the holy trinity.

What are your writing weaknesses?

my prose and descriptors are a work in progress. i feel like it can come out sounding clunky and it's really hard to get the flow right. that's what i'm struggling with in skinny dipping, an unpublished wip of mine. the more i work on it, tho, the better it gets.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

oh goodness, i would be soooo bad at it i fear. the only other language that i know is american sign language ahahaha, so the best that i could do is accurately capture inumaki signing in ASL kajsdfldsk the closest i get is using when i use -chan or -sensei in dialogue, but i don't use it anywhere else.

What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?

OH MY GOD I SWEAR I WILL WRITE A SHIGUANG FIC FOR LINK CLICK OMFGGG THE POTENTIAL THERE IS CRAZYYYYY I NEEDDDD TO WRITE IT however, i must pace myself and finish skinny dipping first, and also probably closing the distance before i even try to start writing a new fic, much less for a new fandom. oh also kagehina is slowly creeping up on me the more i watch haikyuu... i can feeeeel it

What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

currently, it's actually Hot Off the Press teehee. it's a fun, low-pressure fic that i can self-indulge in and use my degree for! it's been a ton of fun writing and i really like being able to pull stuff that i learned for this story. also it's just a fun story to write teehee

“Twelve stitches,” Mickey tells him, voice wobbly and vision blurry. “Doc said it might scar, but. Yeah. It’ll heal.” It’s like something clicks in Ian’s brain, maybe. Like he remembers. Like he knows the events that happened to lead him here, but he can’t quite comprehend them. He lowers his bandaged arm back to the bed and stares at the wall. He doesn’t look at Mickey again. “So, um. Yeah. They patched you up,” Mickey says, the first tear falling down his cheek. He wipes it away, but the second isn’t far behind and he gives up trying to hide it. “You’ve been sleepin’ basically all night. They said you would. Said what happened was… traumatic, or whatever, and you’d need lots of rest.” “Stop,” Ian pleads. He closes his eyes, the words too painful to hear. To accept, maybe. Mickey nods, looking down at the floor. He twists his mouth to one side, sniffs. “I know you don’t wanna hear it. And you’re probably gonna hate me for makin’ you go to one of these places again—” “Don’t,” Ian whispers. “You’re gonna get some fucking help, Ian.” Mickey wipes at his face with the back of his hand. “I—I’m out of my depth here. But they’re gonna take good care of you, okay? It’s seventy-two hours. The doctors and shit, they’re gonna help you. ‘Cause I… I don’t know what else to do. And if you hate me for that—fine. I can live with that.” He sniffs. “But I can’t live without you. Okay? Do you get that?” “Mickey,” Ian pleads, but he won’t look at him, won’t open his eyes. He can’t. (x)

Biggest surprise while writing this year?

The sense of community in the shameless fandom never fails to surprise me. It's one of my favorite fandoms I've ever been in, and the wonderful people i meet writing and reading and talking about these characters pushes me to keep writing. I don't think I'd still be writing without this lovely community tbh

i am a perpetual too-many-wips disaster so i'm always grateful for an opportunity to lay out what i'm working on.

malex pretty woman au (roswell new mexico)

my next big project is the malex pretty woman au. alex is the rich, detached businessman, michael is captivating in tiny blue shorts and thigh high boots. do you see the vision? i need to make a banner and pick a title!

(i make ONE comment to @bigassbowlingballhead about craving a certain type of fic and suddenly i'm being enabled into my next longfic 🙃). i am genuinely so excited about this one. i've got about 5k written and the whole fic is plotted. i'm thinking this will be in the 25-30k range? maybe? honestly jon is better at estimating my word counts than i am so who knows. still not sure if i'll finish writing this one and then edit and post chapter by chapter or what i'll do, but i think i'll be able to get this one up this year.

if i have another big project in me i would LOVE to finish my outsider pov firstprince exes fic. i love love love this weird little fic but it is a real challenge to write.

shadow is a buddie fic that was gonna be a big bang fic (which will never happen) but i *could* finish and post the first few chapters as a one shot. featuring baby eddie having his mind blown by a slightly older, extremely gay buck at a college party while visiting his sister.

i wanna be adored is an elliott/marco, marco gets dropped into crystal valley fic that i've written about 5k for but can't quite get to do what i want. when i started writing it there were no kissingchambers fics, but there are lots now! so if you like them you should probably just read those bc this bad boy probably won't see the light of day even though i've got about 5k written.

dumotanger omegaverse college au (men's hockey rpf) - y'know i really love this one and i am unhinged about dumotanger but i think there's just something missing here that i haven't been able to figure out. i'd love to finish it if i do though! i've got maybe 3k written.

okay those are the ones with something significant written. i have LOTS of other abandoned wips and ideas, plus i always like to do some kind of short prompt series. i haven't done femslash february in a while so maybe i could write a few ficlets for that? maybe do some shuffle prompts again? hmmm. we'll see, we'll see.

2024 Writing Year in Review

Fine, I'll pull a @alwaysmauria and say that when enough people tag you, you finally give in to one of them, albeit begrudgingly.

Words posted (on AO3): ~370k, excluding those I share with @strixamans and @vakariansyndrome, so probably ~330k

Fandoms: BG3 & DAtV

Skipping past stats. No one but those who sort by hits or kudos should care about this. And if you do, that's fine.

Fic I spent the most time on: Fated, my first baby. It's a gruesome 162,186 words-filled monster, but I love her for all she taught me.

Fic I spent the least time on: The Lord, the Thief, their Mistress & Fart's Lover, only because @vakariansyndrome did most of the heavy lifting after the words spewed out of us.

Favourite thing I wrote: Does Emmrich still know how to do dishes. It started off poorly, I couldn't get Emmrich's voice to sound less like Sherlock Holmes and House MD combined, but this story made me reflect on the process of writing more than anything had before. And it's probably no coincidence that it's currently ranked my most-read one-shot.

Favourite fics I read this year: I saw you guys doing 4+1 here, but fuck that. #tageveryone

Resonance by @tthisonebites and, honestly, anything you ever write. But that one was viscerally good and stuck with me. One of my favorite authors.

Midwinter's Rest by Professor_Rye. And not just because this was a gift from them, but they truly hit me in the feels with anything they write.

Waiting, Jealous Little Thing, Reckless Little Love, Drizzt, darling? Really? by @vakariansyndrome - you are a writing machine, woman. You edge me (in writing) like no other. And yes, that Halsin fic will forever be on my mind.

Strange Highways by @nocryptographer and your poetry. Still have not finished it, I am afraid I will no longer hate Cazador. You are too powerful and someone must stop you before you ascend.

Writing goals for 2025: Oh boy, do I have plans. Whether or not I act on them is another matter. My goal for this year is quality over quantity and I started taking steps towards that. Stay tuned.

New works for 2025: I will continue working on the short fics in the Bellara Lutare serials, which is currently the thing that brings me most joy to write about. And probably many short stories. I can't or don't want to commit to any long fics right now. I have too many wips that stare at me and I hope I might one day return to them, but likely not right now.

Going to be honest, the biggest reason I have been working on NFL Buck so much is because my favorite team (Kansas City Chiefs) has been doing very well in the playoffs. So fair warning, if they don't make it to the Super Bowl after this Sunday, writing for that fic will probably taper off and I'll switch to another. But until then, here is another snippet from NFL Buck and I'm hopping back to the end of the dosed arc. (All things NFL Buck can be found here)

Eddie gives him a nod of encouragement and Buck takes a deep breath, then releases it along with the majority of his nerves. He turns his full attention to Athena, her head still cocked with curiosity and her eyes gleaming with intrigue. Buck saw no hint of malice and with a squeeze to his hand from Eddie, his tongue finally loosened, "Eddie and I met when I was still in college. He was one of the paramedics on hand when I was knocked unconscious by a cheap shot from an Aggy. When I came to, Eddie was hovering above me and I literally thought he was an angle." Buck chuckles, remembering the moment his eyes opened and seeing the most beautiful man with the softest brown eyes surrounded by a halo of lights. "That was the concussion." Eddie snarks, but Buck can see the light blush on his boyfriend's cheeks from the corner of his vision. After all these years and Eddie still gets flustered by Buck's enamored compliments. "Well despite the head injury, I had a very hard time forgetting him and I tracked his fine ass down at our next home game. Asked him to dinner, and besides a few bumps along the way, here we are almost ten years later." Buck finishes and flashes a small smile towards Eddie, who returns it.

"And you've kept your relationship hidden all this time?" Athena questions sounding mildly impressed, but also a little sad. Buck deflates slightly, he always does when the whole secret part of his and Eddie's relationship is brought up. "We had to, or I had to. By the time Eddie came into my life, I had put in so much work and sacrifice to be where I was. I had dreamed of playing in the NFL since I was little and football was my greatest love at the time. But I also knew that the world I wanted to be apart of wasn't the most accepting of those who don't fit in the typical heteronormative box. Being an open bi-sexual man would lessen my opportunities and could have put my mental and physical health at risk. So I stayed closeted." "Yet you made the decision to pursue a same sex relationship." He gives the police sergeant a wistful smile, "The moment I met Eddie, I felt this amazing connection and then after our first non-date date, I knew I couldn't let him go, football career be damned." Buck looks over at the man who's held his heart since he walked though Red's door, "Eddie is the one person I know will always have my back and he knows I will always have his. He has never made me choose between my childhood dream and my future ones with him and Christopher." Eddie's warm brown eyes soften through Buck's declaration and the gleam of his adoration only brightens. The hand intertwined with Buck's squeezes three times and Buck squeezes back with the same iteration. Hidden I love you's that have no lesser value than visible one's. "I don't want Buck to lose one of the biggest parts of who he is because of bigots. And I don't see hiding our relationship as a sacrifice. Loving Buck isn't a hardship and part of that love is wanting to see him happy. Playing in the NFL makes him happy. Being with me and Christopher makes him happy. He makes me happy. A few lies and secretes aren't going to diminish that." Eddie states his gaze unwavering on Buck and his chest fills tender warmth at Eddie's proclamation.

i thought it was about time i post a little introduction, share some things about me, and maybe keep a record of my wips and current fics in a somewhat organized way? my ao3 is getting a bit out of hand...

do you respond to comments? Yeah, embarrassingly quickly, too. Comments make me so excited and I usually read them several times, then read them again later.

what's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending? Angstiest of the two is the zombie one, of course. As for the ending? Well...I stand by the Happy Ending tag, despite the fear I have apparently instilled in readers. :)

what's the fic you've written with the happiest ending? The Road to Love has a very happy sappy ending.

do you write crossovers? Nah. Although I have been threatening (myself) to write a Marauders band AU where they guest on Sesame Street. It would be as stupid as you expect it to be.

have you ever received hate on a fic? No, everyone has been exceedingly lovely!

do you write smut? No, I'm too embarrassed! I’ve only done fade to black. Respect to all you freaks who just go whole-hog, truly. Although! I did just write my most explicit scene to date for an upcoming chapter of ASFTEOTW but it's draped in flowery similes and symbolism. Me, peeking through my fingers at my doc: ahhh tasteful nudity.

have you ever had a fic stolen? Not to my knowledge. I think my fics are too indie for that.

have you ever had a fic translated? Nope!

have you ever co-written a fic before? When I was ohh I think 15? My bff and I co-wrote a Naruto crackfic and I'm not sure if it's still out there but in my mind, it's gone to the winds of time. Now let's never speak of this again.

what's a wip that you want to finish but don't think you ever will? I started a story where Remus and Sirius are both doing the solo parenting thing and they meet in a parenting subreddit. It was supposed to be a heartfelt comedy but then it started to hit too close to home as someone who drove herself crazy on parenting reddit for a while there. :)

I also have like half of a very stupid one-shot called "Cormac McLaggen Saves the Day" written and well maybe I'll finish it one day and maybe I won't. That one would be for the Dramione fans.

what are your writing strengths? *checks notes* Reviewers have called my writing vivid, which I think is pretty neat! I've also been told I write suspense well. And I like to think that I'm good at characterization. I've had quite a few people tell me they like how I write Remus and Sirius. That makes me really happy because what I care most about when reading is how well I can connect with the characters. Feels good to know that people are connecting with the characters as I'm writing them.

what are your writing weaknesses? There are probably some weaknesses I'm blind to, but I can definitely say my impatience. I'm like a child when I finish a draft lol I just want to publish it and go looky looky at what I've done! But then I find a bunch of stuff I want to edit after. So, if you're someone who reads a new chapter as soon as it's published, my apologies, you're getting the raw thing. I wish I could be better about sitting on my writing for longer. But also, it's my fun writing so I'm choosing to not feel too guilty about it.

what are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? The only other language I'm fluent in is French, so I only feel confident writing full sentences in that. Otherwise, I only sprinkle in the odd word in another language. Wouldn't feel comfortable doing more unless someone who spoke that language could help me.

what's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to? I wouldn't mind writing something Dramione sometime but I think it would be harder for me to get inside their heads, for some reason.

what's your favourite fic you've written? How do I pick between my two children? I like them both for very different reasons. I've poured so much thought and research and love into ASFTEOTW. It's definitely more ambitious than The Road to Love. But The Road to Love just kinda flew out of me effortlessly, and it was so fun and comforting to write. Ahh they're too different, I can't pick!

How many works do you have on AO3?

Currently, I only have 1 published work, and it is ongoing. However, I do have 1 I am working on, a one-shot, as a Christmas present for the SKK Discord Server I am in.

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I respond to every comment I get! I have a constant need for validation when it comes to everything, so knowing that people are actually enjoying my writing is a huge reason why I try to continue it. Plus, if I'm lucky, I might be able to get ideas off some of the readers and use them! That helps a lot.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

I currently don't have one, since the one I am doing is currently ongoing! Though, I do have it on good authority that it's already angsty and we're only 3 chapters in. Plus, there's more in store!

What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

Again, as I currently only have 1 work on AO3 currently I do not have any with endings. Not much I can do about that right now until I have the other works in progress done. I promise I will have one eventually, though! ♡⸜(˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝

Do you write crossovers?

I love the idea of crossovers and I am currently reading several myself (Though crossover would be the wrong word. More like just general AUs? I never used any of the established characters in these worlds, just the world itself). I would love to write one. I'm just not sure what the crossover AU would be other than Boku no Hero Academia. I think the closest I came to writing one was a Shizaya (Durarara!!!) fanfic I started using the world of The Hunger Games. It's unfinished and only a few chapters in. I'm not sure if I will ever post it. I also started a Victuuri (Yuri!! On Ice) fanfiction where they are Hogwarts students. I'm a few chapters into this one as well, but stopped because I didn't know where to take it from where I had left off.

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

I have not received hate, at least not publicly where I can see. To be fair, though, my work doesn't have a whole lot of traction on it last time I checked--granted that was a while ago.

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I have not written any smut yet. I want to, though I am quite on the fence about it because I am unsure of how it will turn out. I did promise a certain someone I would try though, for their birthday ᓚ₍⑅^..^₎♡

I mean I'm kind of doing that now? Though, I don't think I would consider it co-written. I am working with my friend @raeneism and my one of my other friends by bouncing ideas off each other. It seems to be working out quite well, even if progress is a little slow because of my IRL life.

I would either have to say SKK or Shizaya (Durarara!!!)(DRR). Victuuri (Yuri!! On Ice) is a good answer as well or even SasaMiya (Sasaki and Miyano). There's just so many good ones.

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

Honestly, it feels like all of them! I get so caught up in my own head that sometimes I forget that I have all these WIPs that I need to continue or just ditch. I love them too much, though. (˚ ˃̣̣̥⌓˂̣̣̥ )

What are your writing strengths?

If it were my opinion I would probably say nothing. I personally hate my own writing as a whole.

If it were up to my friends, though, they would probably say the way I describe feelings and how they affect the body. Maybe even just how the characters think as well.

What are your writing weaknesses?

For me, it would probably be pacing? It feels like I am either too quick or too slow to get from one point to another, or even how long it takes for me to write a chapter on average. I tend to take forever due to my tendency to overthink everything, especially the small details.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I love the idea! I was working on a Yuri!! On Ice fanfiction where they were all going to Hogwarts, so the idea was to have dialogue in scattered throughout in everyone's native tongue. One of my friends actually lived in Japan for a while, so I was using her to help me with all the Japanese.

What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?

Probably SasaMiya (Sasaki and Miyano), if I'm being honest. I love how soft the entire series is as a whole, but due to how soft it is I find it hard to write for? I just love angst so much. I don't think I could put those soft bois through all that. (╥﹏╥)

What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

I guess it depends on the ship itself? For SKK it would probably be Nothing Comes as Easy as You, but for DRR it would be one of the unpublished works that I have going. The SKK one is probably the one I'm the most invested in right now, though.

Fav line or passage: Uhhhhhhhhhhh. I have various lines that amused me (to everyone's detriment, I do think I'm funny) but I feel like my favorite is from a fic that generally underwhelmed me? It was one of those situations where I couldn't get the idea out of my head without writing it, but I knew going in that I would probably not be able to write it in a way that satisfied me. But we try anyway, and maybe next year I'll revisit the concept to try it again. Anyway, here's Obi-Wan and Sabé being mean to each other post-RotS:

What fandoms do you write for? Hogwarts Legacy but I'm more currently writing for a different fandom.

Do you respond to comments? Yes. I sometimes forget I have ao3 ngl but 99% of the time I respond to comments on wattpad if I can remember.

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Usually I try to give happy endings to stories because I'm that kind of person. So towards the end I'll have something angsty but the very end will usually end on a better note. But In The Shadow of Her has a decently angsty towards the end because it follows along with the game and In The Shadow of Magic has is angstier towards the end for several reasons lol.

What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Honestly--outside of my full fics, my one shot "Moving in" probably has the happiest ending.

Do you get hate on fics? Perhaps??? I'm not really sure. I've gotten a few off-handed comments that make me go "???" and any hate comments have been very rare.

Do you write smut? Lol nope and I never will. I'm okay with writing stories without it.

Craziest crossover? Ummm I can't really remember ever writing a crossover but me and my bsf would joke about Sebastian and Ominis going to a Jackson Wang party so?? Does that count? 😂

All time favorite ship? AAAAAAA. I hate this question because I can never decide lol. I don't really have a favorite ship but I do have some I like. I'm not going to say any outside of the HL fandom but I will name a few from my friends. @rypnami's Jamie and Jack have had my heart for so long <3 @morelikeravenbore's Aurelie and Sebastian. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? My old fanfics from old fandoms that have just been sitting on my computer for four years LOL.

What are your writing strengths? Fluff, usually. I'm good at Angst too. Romance eehhh kinda?? I've never been in a relationship so I don't really know how it works but I've written several relationships that I think were good.

Thoughts on dialogue in another language? I used to do this a lot actually. But I doubt 100% of it was correct. Now that I'm older, I definitely hesitate more with it. But I think it's super cool and I planned on doing it for my fics but my MC's first language is Irish (Gaeilge, Irish Gaelic whatever you wanna call it lol) and in the 1800's it was even harder than it is today SOOOO in order to avoid mess ups, I just used one-word expressions most of the time.

Favorite fic you've written? My favorite fic is probably not even and HL one LOL. But to keep it HL, all of my books have a special place in my heart and I really can't choose. Some of them have strengths over others and that much is clear but idk if I'd ever be able to choose.

How many words have you written this year?

I'm counting this as how many words in something that I posted, which is 14,819. A lot more than I expected, honestly, but most of it came from me doing several chapters of "15 Minutes" early in the year. 😉

How many works did you publish this year?

9 chapters in all, but only 4 individual works.

What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?

"Sentence Starters Short Fic Collection" (Soap and Ghost, Call of Duty, Kaidan x Shepard, Mass Effect and Kai and Vannak, Halo the series) Yeah, they're all suuuuuper short but I'm always proud of myself whenever I write anything at all for fandoms/characters I've never attempted before. 😎👍

What work of yours has the most hits?

Definitely "15 Minutes" (John x female Reader, Halo the series). I'll never have anything else that will get this sort of response and I'm going to miss it when it's over. But I AM finishing it. Someway. Some how.

What work of yours got more feedback than you expected?

"15 Minutes," yet again. It was meant to be a one-shot and then people liked it and asked for more.

Favorite title you used

"It's All Coming Along" (Master Chief, Halo/Halo the series) Never post things you wrote while in the middle of a bad insomnia bout, kids. You'll think something is funny and everybody else will probably not. I've debated removing this one but finally thought, eh, so it's dumb, that doesn't mean that one day, somebody might get a laugh from my puns. If not, then welp, I'm woman enough to have a total dud in my collection.🤷‍♀️😂

If you use song lyrics, which artist’s songs did you pull from the most?

Didn't use song lyrics this year but I have in the past. I honestly just use whatever artist or song fits the story or theme. I have a really eclectic bunch of artists that I like, so you never know what'll pop up.

Pairing you wrote the most for this year?

John x female Reader, since "15 Minutes" had so many chapters and "It's All Coming Along" is technically a John x Reader as well. "Recreation" is Kai x male Reader and the Sentence Starters I've already mentioned above. 😉

Favorite pairing you wrote for this year?

It's actually the female OC/Frank West from my Dead Rising AU titled "Turn Back." They're the only ones I can consistently sit down and just bang out blocks of hundreds of words. I dunno why. 🤷‍♀️

What work was the quickest to write?

"It's All Coming Along" took literally two hours from "Hey, wouldn't it be funny if...?" to me hitting post. Don't do that, kids. Have a nap first if you haven't slept in, like 40 hours. Don't commit fiction, lol. 😆😴

What work took you the longest to write?

"15 Minutes" which was started 2 years ago along with "Recreation" probably deserves that "honor" for more than one reason, lol.

Honestly, once I finish my WIPs I feel like I'm done. I'll probably keep writing things like my Dead Rising AU and my handful of Mass Effect: Andromeda fics but they're all totally just for me, not to be posted. If something pops to mind, I'll write it but, for the most part, I don't think fandom in general needs me anymore, lol.

"15 Minutes" because I'm trying to make sure I keep things consistent and wrap up any loose ends.

Again, it's probably the "Turn Back" Dead Rising AU or "The Best Mistake" (Gil x OC, Mass Effect: Andromeda AU). Of my posted stuff, though, "15 Minutes."

"Look, it's not my fault that that penguin documentary was kinda lame and—"

"IT WAS NOT!" Vannak bellowed back and took a swing at her that would've definitely put a marine in the infirmary for a month, if not in the ground, permanently. For Kai, it would've at the very least mussed her hair. "Those penguins are adorable and—"

"Lame. Laaaaaame," she singsonged, ducking a flurry of punches, then doing a very impressive parkour run up the wall into a backflip that sent her soaring over the enraged Spartan's head.

"THEY'RE NOT LAME, YOU TAKE THAT BACK!"

Biggest surprise while writing this year?

That I haven't totally given up. It's been verrrrrry close, friends. But every time I've thought, "Eh, why keep trying?" a comment will pop up, thanking me for writing something that gave them a laugh or the like and that'll give me the strength to keep in the fight. If there's even one person left who wants to read how these end or who'll check out the ones I haven't started posting yet, then I want to finish them.

Predominately, I wrote for Lockwood and Co, but recently I dipped my toes into Fullmetal Alchemist because I've had so much inspiration to work with.

5. Do you respond to comments?

Absolutely! I always stress that my responses to comments aren't enough, but I appreciate comments so much that I absolutely want to show some of that gratitude and interact.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Most of them Somewhat kidding. I do tend to lean into an angsty ending only because you know what will come to pass if it's canon compliant, I don't feel the need to rehash it. The angstiest so far is probably she lost her sense of light, she has to hold my hand. Main Character Death will do that, but I think a whumptober fic I've got ready for Day 2 will end up topping this.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I'd say a toss up between Melody and I'll Be Home for Christmas.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Once or twice, but I have a good support system. Fic hate is so wild to me because it's free work people do out of pure joy for the material. If you don't like something, just don't read it? And if you're a new writer who received hate, don't let them stop you. Someone in the world will love your story and a hater says more about that person than it does about you!

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I have ONE smut fic. Just the one. I've wanted to try a couple other times, most recently for smutober, but it's just not something I really enjoy doing. I just enjoy writing other things more, personally. Power to those who can/do!

10. Do you write crossovers?

Not really? Like, I'll put the characters in a different world, but I haven't written a true crossover yet.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I don't think so, but who knows? There's so much content out there.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Not really, aside from a friend helping with some French phrases on a fic, but I'd be so down for it!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Not yet!!! But Bugs and I have been prepping (and she's actually managed to write some one shots) on a FMAB Soulmate AU we're planning. I'm super excited for that, and would definitely be open to working with other writers too!

14. What is your all-time favorite ship?

I don't know if I can definitively say a favorite ship, but let me tell you, my favorite ship dynamic is very clear. Couple who have copious trauma, are absolutely soulmates in every sense, but they never kiss in canon.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Gahhhh, I want to say I have every intention to finish all my fics, because I really want to, but that Harry Potter fic that was my first ever dive into fanfic... I love the character I made and how the plot of the story grew. I know how it's supposed to end. But just...HP, right? It's hard to want to go back with everything that has happened with the author and all that jazz. So it's probably never going to be finished, and that does make me sad.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Metaphors, I've been told. I think I'm also good at creating emotion with my work and bringing humanity into what I'm writing.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

How much time do we have..... Kidding, but it can be really hard to uplift your work and really easy to tear it down. I know I can get long winded, I feel like I've got phrases I overuse or that characters end up sounding the same. I'm going to stop myself before I end up absolutely unraveling my confidence here.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I did this once, and it was difficult. I ended up having a friend offer to translate for me after she read it because it came off stilted and she's a native speaker. Bless her. I would love to do more because language has always fascinated me, I just don't have the ability myself to do it the justice it deserves.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

The usual for someone my age - Harry Potter. I still have a soft spot for it getting me into fanfic and helping me write even when I didn't have a lot of ideas going on.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

This is so hard, but I think it has to be Coming Home to a Forgotten Melody because I'm just so proud of it. It was a NaNoWriMo fic, and I wrote like 93k words in a month. Fun fact: I've fully edited it myself to be an original work. It's been looked at fully by a couple friends and then it's with one last person with a couple chapters left before I can start shopping for agents 🙈

uh I'm gonna go with like multi-chapter fics because I've written so many one shots where james dies so we don't have to get into all that but also i'm a baby so I think the most angsty ending is Stars Will Fall? Reg is dead... or it could be Anyway Don't Be Stranger because jeg are broken up and aren't getting back together... but also A Stranger in The Alps is also pretty angsty but also not like jeg never got to be together in that life but also they didn't get to date in Stars Will Fall either

No, and I probably will never but you never know I guess

have you ever received hate on a fic?

A few times yeah I had someone comment on one of my fics saying how they hated it but they finished it? for some reason. Mainly right now the only hate I receive on fics is how I characterize Sirius.

I did for a time but not anymore it's boring for me to write I'll read it but it takes forever for me to write and it is not meant for me. It was a time while I was writing it though...

I haven't been like plagiarized but someone put teach them how to dream on wattpad once without my permission uh and I think that's it? from what I know.

I think I did once but I don't think the person ever finished it so I don't think it's up anymore, but at some point absent mindedly was being translated.

i've successfully co-written one fic and by successful i mean it's on ao3 here but I haven't written my chapter in months and I've unsuccessfully co-written one too that went up in flames so i think I'm gonna stick to not writing anymore

jegulus i do not care about anything else i don't care you can throw any ship at me jegulus is better

what's a wip that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?

the history fic I loved the idea but I don't think it'll ever be done like I'd have to redo the whole thing that I have like 50k of it written and the idea of having to redo all of that is awful so I really don't think I'll ever finish it it would also be really really long and I don't think I have the ability to get it done the way I want so alas it was not meant to be i fear

what are your writing strengths?

Metaphors? Does that count. I love myself a good metaphor and I think I'm good with hurting people with them. I like using them as a way to foreshadow too.

what are your writing weaknesses?

Describing anything other than emotion like if you tell me to describe a room or outfit i'm sorry it's not gonna happen. Which is weird because when I write I see everything like it was a movie but I literally can't describe it you have to teleport in my head and you'll see it.

what are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I think it's fun but also I feel like every time I do it I do it wrong (i did in in tthtd and i got so many comments about how it was wrong lmao) so I stick with Reg calling Harry mon cheri and that's pretty much it.

what's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to?

I mean I think I've got my ships I have jeg I have moonchaser i even did rosestarkillerchaser like I have my guys and I've written arcane which I wanted to do but I don't like any other ships in that enough to write them. I have this idea to write for lilylene? so maybe that's it but I don't know I'd be content just to write jeg forever and nothing else.

what's your favorite fic you've ever written?

It's so hard I don't know I feel like my go to is Dear Reader that's my baby girl I love her but also the road trip fic is up there too I love the both of them they are my children and I can't pick so both! I dont' care I make the rules. Those are the ones I'm always rereading somewhat the rest I could take or leave but not those two.
