From wet shirt to towel, Doja Cat turns up in OUTRAGEOUS clothes at Met Gala 2024
American singer and rapper Doja Cat walked the Met Gala red carpet earlier today and it was nothing short of shocking. Before she walked the red carpet, she caught everyone’s attention in a bathing towel that she held on to. Her hair too was wrapped in a towel. She then walked the red carpet after […]

Native American boarding schools, also known as Indian Residential Schools, were established in the United States during the early 19th and mid 20th centuries with a primary objective of "civilizing" or assimilating Native American children and youth into Euro-American culture. In the process, these schools denigrated Native American culture and made children give up language and religion. At the same time the schools provided a basic education in Euro-American subjects. These boarding schools were first established by Christian missionaries of various denominations, who often started both missions and schools on reservations, especially in the lightly populated areas of the West. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the government paid religious orders to provide basic education to Native American children on reservations, and later established its own schools on reservations. The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) later founded additional boarding schools based on the assimilation model. These sometimes drew children from a variety of tribes. Some off-reservation schools, such as St. Joseph's Indian School in Chamberlain, South Dakota, continue to operate.
Historian Frederick Merk says this concept was born out of "a sense of mission to redeem the Old World by high example … generated by the potentialities of a new earth for building a new heaven". In contemporary historiography many have condemned manifest destiny as an ideology that was used to justify genocide against Native Americans.
Historians have emphasized that "manifest destiny" was a contested concept—Democrats endorsed the idea but many prominent Americans (such as Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, and most Whigs) rejected it. Historian Daniel Walker Howe writes, "American imperialism did not represent an American consensus; it provoked bitter dissent within the national polity … Whigs saw America's moral mission as one of democratic example rather than one of conquest
Sounds like the same thing that happened to African people
Taught to hate ourselves so it’s easy for us to kill our selves
Hate our culture names, spirituality and language
So we must depend on our enemies culture
We must fight back culturally
A slave name is the personal name given by others to an enslaved person, or a name inherited from enslaved ancestors. The modern use of the term applies mostly to African Americans and West Indians who are descended from enslaved Africans who retain their name given to their ancestors by the enslavers

I cannot fucking believe this.
Thankfully, aside from the occasional troll (who are even lurking in the comments of this video right now SMH), majority of the Indian internet is either mourning, rioting, or unsubscribing from Wion in protest.
There are rumours that she didn't actually resign, that Wion changed management and the new top brass decided she has "too much influence" and I'm just going to integrate that into my belief system.
If Palki Sharma had been around when I was a child, I might have actually become a journalist. When baby me still believed that journalism was about truth and justice and "the pen is mightier than the sword" and all that jazz, I was picturing myself becoming something like her.
My only hope is that she either goes out on a high note, or holds onto her journalistic approach wherever she goes next. The worst thing she could ever do is become just like all the other journalists... a sellout.
#wionews.com#desiblr#wion is going to lose viewership FAST#watch those subscribers come tumbling down#she was my role model for the past few years and that's not an exaggeration#Youtube
