View from my front room before I left the flat. Not too foggy around my area. I can't complain, I've had wonderful sunny weather while I've been here, only today has it been grey & grim. Gave myself a last treat & took a black cab into Heathrow. Had a lovely chat on the way. Today it's grey & foggy, many planes are delayed, but got another result - a seat upgrade. It was so cold out that the round pond in #kensigtongardens was iced over. Most of the birds congregated at one end & flew around in a frenzy when they spotted people feeding the swans. Had a good walk through the park which was looking rather drab & wintery. I haven't been over at this time of year for a long time. No daffodils were out .... Met up with the fabulous Renée & Spartacus at the Swan. Had a great catch up & also met a lovely Aussie couple, Dingo & George & sat & chatted with them for a while. Have a colourful Sunday. Am having a coffee with a neighbour then meeting my sister for lunch. Will try & work in a walk in the park too as the sun is out again today. People thronging the street in Portobello. So much tat, but if you look carefully you might find a bargain & the food stalls are inviting. Many Londoners stopped & chatted to me .... also a few tourists. Had a most entertaining afternoon. Cat dress & socks seen in a shop in Notting Hill Gate. Portobello Market was fun - thronged with people from all over the world & full of tourist tat. Found a few printing stamps that I bought, far too expensive, but .... Chatted to market people & buskers who recognized me from days gone past & then, suddenly exhausted I had to catch a bus back to the flat. I've done a lot of walking since I've been over here & my legs are pretty achey. Haha! I didn't bring any shades over to London 'cos I thought I wouldn't need them .... mistake!!! The sun was shining so brightly yesterday when I was strolling along Kings Rd, that I had to nip into Ad Hoc & buy a cheap pair. Had to wait for a while at the Passport Office but I finally got my new passport. Then I made my way to Richmond to see Paul. It was the first time I'd visited his renovated house when he was actually living there & I was impressed how cosy & charming he's made it. Noah has grown even more - he towers over me now - it's been fun watching him grow up & watch the changes. Also I was delighted to see @aliyaraphael who came straight over from work & cooked us a delicious meal. So kind of her & it was lovely to see her - gorgeous as ever. All the family have become such good friends to me & have been a great support. Oh, those #iosconnections! We'd reconnected with Paul when Aliya was a babe in arms at a friends' house & since then we always try & meet up when I'm in London .... and also on Ios of course. I'm very lucky in life that I've met some amazing people & many of them have become friends. Today I'm feeling absolutely knackered, but as the sun is shining (yes, I'm in London & it's shone all the time I've been here!) I'll go for a stroll to Portobello Market & look around there this morning.
