It was year 2017 when I went out on a vacation with my friends to experience the beauty of Kinnaur and Spiti Valley and was in Manali just for a day so we could not go around for local sight seeing. Well I had no idea about the local places in and around Manali so we went back to the same life after vacation but I still wanted to be in Manali, I decided to go back the coming year 2018. Meanwhile have been watching this web series HAQ SE which streams in @altbalaji and I just loved the locations where this web series was shot. I did some research about the places and got to know about this place Naggar Castle which was just an hour drive from Manali main town. Things which most attracted me when I visited the Hidimba Temple, the temple is beautifully carved with wooden doors and windows with huge tall wooden "shikhar". The walls made out of whitewashed, mud-covered stonework, goddess Durga forms the theme of the main door carvings with wood. And the carvings also depicted animals, foliate designs, dancers, scenes from Lord Krishna’s life and Navagrahas. The craved wood are the perfect example of the Himachali art and craftsmanship. Walking down that path towards the Hidimba temple in the middle of the van Vihar just bring out the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani movie moment for the inner self which is just amazing. Snowman ☃️ . . Heavy snowfall is what we got to experience in Manali this winter. Reaching Solang valley was a tough job, due to very heavy snowfall roads were blocked so could not reach Solang. I would say A trip to Manali Is incomplete without going to The Lazy Dog (old Manali) live music, very good food and tandoor, hookah and beautiful ambiance. A complete package all worth going . Old Manali is a complete contrast to New Manali. It is a lot less crowded. There are plenty of backpacker cafés and restaurants which serve some really tasty food, must visit while you are in the hippie part of Manali. The vibe at Old Manali post sun down is something which words can’t describe, one has to be there to experience it for themselves. Don’t stop where the shops and stores basically ends in old Manali because there is much more to old Manali and if you take a small walk into the village you get to see the actual old Manali village.
