I know that you have a lot on your plate, so you don't have to answer this, BUT, if you have a Gravity Falls au where the characters are in Aerwiar then consider a Wingfeather Saga au where the Wingfeather characters are in Gravity Falls.

I’m assuming by “Gravity Falls AU where the characters are in Aerwiar” you mean Anniera Falls? So like, a full alternate universe thing? Since in Wingfeather Falls the Wingfeathers do visit Gravity Falls. That’s what I’m going to go off of for this, if you had something else in mind let me know.

****SPOILERS FOR THE WINGFEATHER SAGA. Mostly just books 1-3, I think there's only one vague spoiler for book 4, so if you've read through book 3 you should be okay, but my memory is bad so read at your own risk****

Soooo back in the day I kind of had some ideas for this. It actually kind of works purely because you can keep the dynamic of two brothers, one goes missing, the other desperately tries to get him back, and years later the nieces and nephews visit.

Aaaafter that the plot gets a little more difficult. It is kind of fun to imagine Artham and Esben living in a cabin in the woods inventing things and going on adventures but I don’t think either of them are stupid enough to get involved with Bill. Unless they’ve been in Gravity Falls for a long time and they accidentally summoned the Dorito when they were kids or something.

If you integrate the idea of the Fangs and all that it could work because Gravity Falls is a profoundly weird place and I believe it could have stones that meld people with animals and well water that heals people etc. Now, Gnag I could imagine working with Bill, so if he summoned him and built the portal and all that and Artham and Esben tried to stop him, that could work. Stuff starts to go down and Esben sends Nia and his little children away to live with their grandparents. The brothers get sucked through a portal while fighting Gnag and the Fangs and they seal the threat inside but trap themselves in the process. Years later, Artham escapes, broken and mentally unstable. Nia has some contact with him after that, but he never tells her what happened to Esben and he never gets better.

Hoping that if she sends her kids to visit it might help her brother-in-law, Nia sends Janner, Kalmar and Leeli go to Gravity Falls for the summer. The kids are a range of confused, worried about, and unnerved by their eccentric uncle.

Artham doesn’t run a tourist trap like Stan does, at least, not intentionally. He displays an eclectic arrangement of items and taxidermied animals from his and Esben’s adventures when they were younger and allows people to see it after paying an admission fee. He also gives tours of the forest. People mostly come to see it because you never know what Artham’s going to say on any given day since his mind is so messed up. Some days he just tells disjointed, unrelated stories. He still stutters and mixes up words. He doesn’t wear socks, but he does wear like, fireplace gloves that he never takes off. He’s kind of a mix of Stan and Fiddleford.

Sara works in this version of the Mystery Shack, along with Maraly. Sara runs the register and Maraly fixes things sometimes? No one’s actually sure what she does, they mostly just find her eating food out of containers in the fridge and hunting monsters in the woods. She captures or kills these and brings them to Artham to display in his ‘museum��. She fixed the golf cart once.

As for Janner, Kal and Leeli, they go on adventures and work to solve the mystery they fell into just like Dipper and Mabel. Janner finds Esben and Artham’s old journals (they wrote them under pen names tho, so he doesn’t know they’re by his dad and uncle) that Artham buried in the woods after he escaped the portal. Kalmar has a blast pulling pranks and encountering creatures, he teams up with Maraly whenever he can. The image of Leeli hitting gnomes with her crutch lives rent free in my head.

The cloven exist, and they live deep in the forest, still headed by Artham’s lost love Aurendelle. Townspeople are a mixture of Glipfolk, Stranders, and Hollowsfolk from the series. Glipfolk include Oscar and the Shoosters, Stranders include Maraly’s family, Hollowsfolk include the O’Sallys and Rudric. Gammon’s also there somewhere because someone has to adopt Maraly. At some point Nia and Podo show up to help with whatever chaos is unleashed.

WAIT I GOT IT, BONIFER SUMMONED BILL AKJHGKJAHSFD he’s still living somewhere in town, waiting for the portal to open again so he can free Bill/Gnag/the Fangs. He befriends and later betrays the kids.

ARTHAM AND ESBEN GET AN ACTUAL REUINION *glares at Andrew Peterson* Artham tries desperately to get his brother back, but struggles to get the portal running again until the kids uncover vital clues about it. Artham’s terrified to see his brother again, but Esben’s not actually angry with him for what happened. Esben probably lives in this AU. Also, Idk how exactly, but Artham does get wings.

Aaaaand yeah, after that it’s not too hard to follow the base plot of Gravity Falls and modify it as needed. Hopefully that made some modicum of sense, I’m pretty tired. xD This was fun tho, I love AU’s.

obviously Janner is Wirt and Tink is Greg, I think Leeli is the frog? Because Artham is both the woodsman and Beatrice (becus Adelaide is the stone keeper and the beast is Gnag) he's trying to both; keep Esbin's soul alive with the lantern, and get the scissors to turn himself back into a human. Both at the expense of Janner, Tink and Leeli whom he learns to love and protect (cause he aint related to them in this au)

TWS gang, please, hear me out.

So, I still got wingfeathers in the brain (I'm starting to think I may never get rid of it...) and one of my favorite fairytales has always been Beauty And The Beast.

Since exams week has been draining me, why not come up with another thing to daydream about?

I present you... The-Wingfeather-Saga-Beauty-And- The-Beast AU!

The Jewels And The Beast for short.

Or Jewels and The Cloven.

Or Jewels and The Birdman.

You'll see.... Just bear with me.

I'm debating in whetever Esben or Artham should be the "beast". In one hand, it would make sense for it to be Esben since he's all bear-like but I would also like it to be Artham since we have more information about him and what he's like. But either way, the "Beauty" is none other than our favorite jewels, Janner, Kalmar and Leeli.

Here's the idea: so, the kids still live with Podo and Nia in Glipwood. However, in the Glipwood forest, there's an abandoned castle. (Bonus points if Artham is the "beast" cause then it could be Peet's castle only bigger and creepier) Podo goes on a trip for whatever reason, and ends up being taken by the oh-so-horrible beast of Glipwood. Danny, the horse, comes back to the Igiby cottage where Nia and the kids get nerve struck when they find the horse without its rider. Nia leaves to get help to find Podo leaving the kids alone, and one thing leads to another, they decided to go to the forest by themselves to rescue their grandpa because main characters moment. There, they meet the "beast", and bargain to stay as prisioners in Podo's place. Podo obviously tries to fight, but ends up having to flee, leaving the kids as captives in the castle.

The "talking objects" are the Glipwooders, plus a few other characters from other regions. We got Oskar, who's a book, (are you surprised) and basically takes the role of Cogsworth. We also got Addie and Joe, Maraly, Sara, Thron, Rudric and others. (No, I haven't thought of what objects they would all be, sorry. You can suggest in the comments tho!) As the story goes by, it focuses mainly on the kids bonding with either beast! Esben or beast! Artham, and teaching about kindness and stuff. The "rose" would be a set of three actual jewels, that may or may not represent the kids themselves. Meanwhile Gnag, will be the one to take the role as Gaston. Unlike in TWS, Gnag will pretend to be the good guy and the whole town loves him, (like Gaston and the villagers) so when Nia and Podo announce that the kids have been captured by a beast, he will try to play the hero and claiming he will "rescue them". However, what Nia Podo and the Glipwooders don't know, is that Gnag is the one who helped to turn Esben or Artham into a beast in the first place, along with the Stone Keepers (who take the role of the Enchantress). Gnag knows that Janner, Tink and Leeli are the Jewels Of Anniera, and has only been waiting for the right moment to strike, to capture them and begin his plan on taking over Skree, the Hollows, and the lost Shining Isle, which everyone believes to only be a legend.

Anyways that's all I got for now.

Maybe I'll write a small fic or something on that in the future...

Galaxy brained idea that maybe three people will get:

Feanor and Fingolfin with the Noldorin inheritance being identical to that of the Annieran rulers in the Wingfeather Saga, specifically the Throne Warden/High King set-up.

(For non-Wingfeather Saga fans: In Anniera, the crown prince/princess is the SECOND child of the high king/queen, and the eldest child becomes the Throne Warden, whose job is to protect his/her sibling from all harm/guide them in their rule. The Throne Warden is very much honored for their role, but it's made clear from birth that they will never rule.)

(For non-Silmarillion fans: Feanor is the eldest from Finwe's first wife, Miriel, and Fingolfin is his eldest son from his second wife. This is a race of immortals, so remarrying has been unheard-of before this. Feanor hates Fingolfin's guts, and after Finwe dies there's a bit of puzzlement of who actually is the king here?)

The Warden and the Bear King is a Wingfeather Saga AU! I can go into detail but it contains some pretty heavy spoilers for the Saga, and I don't know if you've read it. If you haven't, spoilers below!

The original idea was Artham, while wandering the Blackwood after his exit from the Deeps, finds the way back into the Deeps with the water from the First Well, rescuing his brother. The greater part of the AU is the roadtrip arduous journey across the Dark Sea to Skree. There wasn't really anywhere for the AU to go after that (if it followed canon, eventually the ending might be worse, considering Artham would never be melded and Peet's Castle never built, not to mention would the kids be the Jewels if their father's alive?). It was a fun AU to plot and write though!

That is so true! It's not thinking less of himself, it's thinking of himself less... which in turn helps him not to think less of himself! Oh, I need to keep this in mind for writing Wirt Arcs In Fanfiction.

This makes me think of that idea I never wrote out where the boys come to the Unknown as unsuspecting Prophesied Royals... but it's the same concept as Wingfeather, where the younger brother is the king, and the older brother is the throne warden.

I wish I could've figured out a way to write it, because I think that is actually so fitting for both Wirt and Greg, somehow. The potential is insane.

YES TO ALL OF THESE THEMES, brotherly motifs in stories are my absolute jam

-and I love how the lesson isn't Wirt overcoming his self-doubt, it's on becoming more focused on other people's (Greg's) needs. He needs to take responsibility here, he can't just be the Self-Pitying Poet.

It DOES help him with confidence, because self-pity is a form of self-obsession. Shifting your focus to other people is a solid way to combat it.

This is gonna sound super arrogant, but if I come up with a fic idea that I want to be written, generally... I just write it. Or think about it, and then do nothing about it. That said, I have definitely thought of Sabezra ideas that @jessicas-pi and @seleneisrising would absolutely knock out of the park (pretty sure I thought about a Sabezra Anastasia au at one point? And there might be some more specific ideas) and OH MY STARS WAIT WAIT I THOUGHT OF ONE. I have way too many ideas of how Tim should propose to Lucy, and I really want to read a fic where they compete to see who should be able to propose to the other/ who can do the best proposal and Grey judges it (to his own chagrin). And I'm not gonna lie, you'd probably be best at writing that. (@accidental-spice and I also have this whole fic idea about what the last episode of The Rookie should look like, but if it doesn't at least kinda fit those qualifications, I'mma write it myself)

Hmmm it's been a while since I posted one of my weird crossover ideas on tumblr. Let's fix that.

For the past few days I've been enjoying daydreaming about a Avatar the Last Airbender/Wingfeather Saga crossover. But it's. probably not what you would expect, haha. I'll probably never write it as more than ideas though, so I may was well post the concept here.

So this takes place in the Wingfeather world of Aerwiar, several years before the Fall of Anniera that jumpstarts the war/plot happening in the book series. One day, Artham Wingfeather is in one of Anniera's port towns and is called over by a concerned citizen, who leads him to a crowd watching a rowboat slowly drift to shore. The rowboat contains two small children, who Artham brings ashore and takes back to Castle Rysen.

The small children in question are Zuko (age 4) and Azula (age 2). In this version of events, the Fire Nation royal family is a bit darker than in canon and, after Ozai flies into a rage and burns Zuko (yes he still has his scar I know I'm mean, but there's a POINT I swear) Ursa decides she needs to get her kids the heck out of the Fire Nation. But Ozai is suspicious and possessive of her in general and has her under guard so she can't escape the palace, so she entrusts her kiddos to a few trusted servants, who pack them up in a rowboat with food and water and send them off, hoping they'll make it to a coastal village and be taken in by a kindly family.

Most of this is explained/implied in a note that Ursa sent along with the kids, that Artham reads and passes on to Esben (and Nia and Arundelle). They are properly horrified.

However, what no one realizes is that these kiddos have come through a portal between the two worlds. So Artham and Esben ASSUME that SOMEWHERE these kid's mom is being held captive by their cruel father and so they send out search parties/reconnaissance teams to try and rescue her, and because any father so cruel as to hurt his son the way Ozai hurt Zuko needs to be stopped. The brothers also wonder if, perhaps, this is somehow connected to the Tragic Accident that befell their parents and aunt Illiya a year before when their ship was lost and they were killed. And they start to wonder if, perhaps, that wasn't an accident, but that they stumbled upon whatever This was and tried to stop it and got in the way. (They don't suspect Bonifer... at first...)

Anyway, Artham finds himself caretaker for these two small children and develops a bond with them, especially Zuko (what, you thought I WASN'T going to use this as an excuse to make a connection between two of my favorite characters of all time?). Arundelle also becomes close with them, and- besides the cooks in the castle- she's the first person Artham tells about the kids. Because I thought it'd be fun to make Arundelle a healer (hey, why shouldn't she be good with healing plants and herbs? heh) and have her be the main person who treats Zuko's burn.

Azula recovers from the trauma of being separated from her mom and home pretty quickly since the new place she's in has kind, caring people, nice food, is still a palace, and she's two. She loves playing with Arundelle and listening to Artham's stories. She's very bright and friendly and talkative. She IS very attached to her brother tho, sleeping in the same bed as him the first few nights in this new place, even defending him/trying to explain his actions the way she's heard adults do. (when Artham finds the siblings they're clinging to each other in their little boat, terrified)

Zuko is more complicated. He's had the physical trauma of being burned paired with the emotional trauma of being hurt and abused by his father (the burning wasn't the first time, just the most severe). He understands a little more of what's going on than his sister. He love, love, loves being held, especially by Artham, because since Azula was born he's not been allowed to act like a "baby" and hasn't gotten much physical affection. He's very shy and has periods of mutism when meeting new people or encountering distressing/unfamiliar situations. Little guy has also had his senses severely rattled by losing both half his vision and half his hearing in one fell swoop. In short, he's a mess. The first time he's alone with Artham he has a panic attack because he thinks Artham will hurt him, but Artham being so kind and understanding and gentle with him helps him unlearn that. Zuko becomes very attached to Artham very quickly and... Artham becomes attached to him pretty fast too.

(Additionally, Zuko is terrified of Bonifer. The only explanation he can give for that is, "He looks at me like father did." which does plant a little seed of suspicion in Artham's mind specifically)

So, long term, this severely messes up Gnag/Bonifer's plans, since suddenly the Annierans are combing the Hollows/The Killridge Mts/even the Doonlands trying to find Zuko and Azula's family. This either forces the baddies to speed up their plans... or derails them altogether. I haven't decided yet, haha. The Annierans do find out something of what Gnag is doing (they don't connect Bonifer to it right away tho) and end up with some preparation for the attack that eventually comes. I think the attack on Anniera is still somewhat successful, but a lot less so than in canon. Like, I don't think the entire populace is captured/scattered and I haven't decided if I want Artham and Esben to still get captured or not. (if they do I have this great mental image of 7-year-old Zuko and 5-year-old Azula trying to rescue them from Throg. Just. just imagine the CHAOS even a pair of BABY firebenders could do in Aerwiar. Imagine.)

Oh yeah, to give you a better idea of WHEN this happens, Nia is pregnant with Janner when Artham finds Zuko and Azula. I just thought it'd be fun for Zuko to have the same age gap with Janner he has with Aang and it makes it close enough for things to come together plot wise.

So yeah, that's my thoughts on how Zuko and Azula could potentially have prevented the Fall of Anniera. xD

Artham and Arundelle getting married a few years before Anniera falls after the closeness and bonding that comes from caring for a pair of traumatized children.

Absolute chaos with their firebending (the Annierans chalk this up to the old stories of Annieran/Anyaran kids having special powers to defend their home with and decide not to question it further)

So yeah, there's my late night thoughts on a WFS/ATLA AU. where Artham adopts Zuko and Azula. because why not. I hope it was a fun read. :D

1940s AU

Artham is a model, Gammon is a reporter and a photography hobbiest

Four months ago, listening to dark and epic songs such as I See Fire and Battle Scars and with the Wingfeather Saga on the mind, I opened a doc and wrote, as you do, just to let off some steam. What came out was a weird amalgation of different AUs of the saga that I'd plow through five pages of each and then switch tacks.

None of them are complete, seeing as the Wingfeather Saga is so wonderfully (and infuratingly) written that any attempts to make things better usually end in the utter decimation of the plot, characters, and/or themes of the saga.

Now, a month and a half post my last edit to them, I decided quite elegantly and maturely, what the heck? and decided to try letting one out.

So, what if Artham actually did find the way back into the Deeps after finding the water from the First Well?

Fun fact, this is the 'The Warden and the Bear King' WIP from that ask game a while back.

[SPOILERS ABOUND. THROUGH BOOK 3 I THINK.]

Artham finds the cavern back into the deeps of Throg about two months after exiting, and rushes in without hesitation. Maybe it's the same one he left from, maybe it isn't, but either way it's twisting, unwieldy, and difficult to get the seed-husk of water from the First Well through unspilt. Hours he winds through passages, through burrows, and through endless doubts and shrieking voices warning him to go back.

He makes it to the dungeon eventually, and he freezes at the sight of it. Music is playing nearby— he'd thought he'd heard it ten minutes ago, but he'd told himself he was imagining it!— Sing the song the voices start, and against his will his lips start to move a bit... Terrified, he flees like mad, and he might have reached the surface once more had not a clatter from behind startled him.

He'd dropped the seed-husk.

Sprinting back, he frantically picks it back up, but nearly all the water has drained away, only a few drops left. He paws at it, trying to push the trickle of water back into the husk, the useless talons scraping awfully on the stone like nails on a blackboard. It's hopeless, so eventually he gathers his strength and tattered courage and presses on with what few drops he has left. He has to find Esben now, he tells himself, refusing the voices that press upon him at the name, for it is only a matter of time before he loses the rest of the water, the only thing that stands between him and utterly failing the High King yet again.

Back into the dungeon, closing his ears forcefully against the pulsing music, ducking behind cages when a Fang wanders through, searching for Esben. When he finds him, the king is in a newly reinforced cage, further back from the exit than it had been before. They've taken precautions, but precautions are nothing to a properly motivated Throne Warden, and the cage door cracks open within seconds.

"Esben," he chokes, and his brother starts. Esben's face is as he remembers it— bearded with fur, grey bubbled skin breaking out in patches, dazed pain in his eyes— but a wonder in them as well. "You... came back." he croaks, and Artham has to dash away tears to see the chains properly. He'll break them in a moment but first— "Aye," he says, "Now drink this."

He holds the battered seed husk gently to Esben's mouth. He watches carefully as his brother drinks the few drops eagerly— they probably haven't given him water for days, he fumes— and then leans back against the cage wall, exhausted by this small exertion. But there isn't time for rest or to wait until the water takes effect, and Artham hauls him to his feet. They stumble together from the cage, through the dungeon, Artham supporting almost all of Esben's weight, and thinking that if they happen to trip and fall then they would never manage to get up again. He prays with breath he can't spare that they won't trip.

Artham has always been tall, and his strength had been renowned in years past, but he has languished in a dungeon for— years, surely. He is stronger than Esben, but two months of frantic wandering, eating whatever he can and constantly moving hasn't improved his strength so much as his endurance. Thankfully, by the time the dungeon turns back into winding caverns and tunnels, Esben seems stronger, and can walk on his own. Neither of them speak in the pitch darkness, each moving as if in a dream with only each other to remind them they aren't. Artham holds tight to Esben's hand with his left arm, and the other wraps around Esben's side, even if his brother doesn't need his support any more. He doesn't want to imagine losing hold of his brother, here in the darkness. They stumble past a patch of blooming flowers and vibrant grass sprung from the cold rock where Artham had dropped the water from the First Well.

Under a pitch-black sky they stumble from pitted stone onto night-darkened grass.

They spend perhaps a week in the Blackwood, journeying west at a stumbling pace. They grow stronger, with daylight, food, water, and companionship. Sometimes other cloven shamble past them, but always wild and untamed. Artham and Esben don't have any water from the First Well left, nor anything else to envy, and so they're left alone for the most part. In the bright sunlight, Artham can see what he'd missed in the dark of the deeps. Throughout their steady trek, the water was working upon Esben, and his face seems clearer, the grey mottled skin gone and the patchy fur a golden-brown color that matches his hair. He looks a little odd, a little bulkier and more bear-like than before, but he has come back to himself, he is Artham's little brother, and he is not broken but healed.

The brothers have a lot of time to talk on their westward journey.

At first, Artham has trouble keeping back the high-pitched gibbering his voice and words keep trying to become, especially when Esben is quiet or contemplative or otherwise not talking. Esben is alarmed when it starts, which sets Artham off even more, which turns Esben’s alarm to worry, and it all ends in a mess of I’m sorrys and heart to hearts and confessions.

Once the brothers lose each other for an entire six hours.

Artham had gotten panicked, and in his sleep-deprived state he’d run away from the familiar man who called him by name with the blue eyes that filled with pain and memories at times— his fault, it was his fault—

Esben trails him at first, tracking his brother’s panicked flight through the loamy soil, but it isn’t safe to journey alone in the Blackwood, even in broad daylight, and soon he stops to consider his options, perched high in a tree where he had fled from the reach of a toothy cow. Artham would calm down soon, and probably panic and retrace his path. Esben was on said path, and if he kept shouting his name from the tree where the many creatures of the wood couldn’t reach him…

Artham refuses to stray more than ten feet from his little brother’s side for the rest of the Blackwood.

In the original story, Artham had stowed away on a Fang ship to Skree, following a tiny pinprick of light that told him the children of the king were there. He had nearly starved in the hold, but made it to Glipwood only five years after the fall of the Shining Isle. Now, with his little brother at his side, he has more to think of than himself.

They take refuge in an abandoned cottage a few hours from the edge of the Blackwood, shifting through debris for anything useful. Artham finds an intact glass vial in the kitchen, but the last of the precious water had gone toward Esben’s healing, and so he tucks it, empty, among their scant belongings in the hope it might be useful.

Esben had decided, in the first clear-minded rest after their exit from the deeps, that he was not going to ask Artham about what happened to Nia and the children. He barely remembered anything about that day, beside sitting down to lunch to the sound of Nia’s laughter as she tried to coax little Kalmar to eat. Janner had been excitedly relating some epic adventure from his day to his Uncle Artham, whose strained face of the past week eased somewhat while he listened.

Then the Fangs had come.

After Esben had been taken captive, ripped away from the room of the Fane of Fire and force-marched to the dungeon, he had caught sight of Artham being shoved into one of Rysen’s well-kept cells. Seeing the fear in his brother’s eyes, the Throne Warden had shaken his head, mouthing they’re safe. That was the extent to which they had communicated for the four years of captivity in the deeps of Throg, for Esben had not been bound for the cells but rather to an interrogation room, and they were kept separate on the march to Throg. In the deeps, they had not spoken at all, both consumed by the dreadful music and their own demons.

Esben had been given a front-row seat to his brother’s breaking, though they had only glimpsed each other once in a blue moon. He could hear the Stone Keeper taunting Artham with food, with freedom, with a snatch of sunlight. He could hear his brother shouting his name, and receiving no answer. He could hear his brother muttering in his sleep, in his waking hours, mumbling and shrieking as if the voices in his mind had taken over his speech.

Artham was the one they focused on, for they knew they could count on the king to break. What had the king ever done, besides rule from the protecting shadow of the Warden? What had the king ever done to protect the kingdom, while the Warden waged wars with his own strength and the strength of those loyal to him? What had Esben ever done, besides falling to the Fangs the moment he tried to fight without his brother by his side?

The Stone Keeper came and went from Artham’s side like a scuttling shadow, but she never paused by Esben, for which he was shamefully grateful. The dark of his cell and the silence was never broken save by what peeked in from without, as the days turned and his brother went mad and Esben began to think he was forgotten by even his captors. His only companion was the music that echoed in the dungeons and crept into every forgotten corner, and filled his head to chase away the silence.

His brother, Esben decides, has gone through enough. He isn’t going to ask and possibly bring back bad memories. He isn’t going to ask about the tears that had watered Artham’s fierce eyes even as he was shoved into a cell, even as he mouthed they’re safe. He isn’t.

Sitting at the dilapidated table of the abandoned cottage, Artham tells him anyway.

Im an artist/writer and I mostly post drawing of my silly little blorbos along with other random things if I feel like it. I'm currently working on 2 projects, one being an Undertale AU that's yet to be named and has no storyline, just vibes and silly art, and the other being a novel that has been in the oven for years.
