-He's the kind of person to preen twice every day, but then occasionally genuinely forget to for like a week at a time, up until he goes to do something difficult and is suddenly like "...ah,,"

-His wings are naturally reddish brown, so in the right lighting and humidity they can look like they're just drenched in blood. (this scares the shit out of people every time they first see it, except for like this one time that the person's reaction was just a very tired "pls, don't use blood to dye your wings" from someone very sleep deprived who didn't really notice who they were talking to

-Because of this interaction, he'll now dye the tips of his wings pink (using proper materials for it of course) for special occasions, with little strips of his loved ones' favorite colors hiding in the under-layers

(here is where I abruptly remembered that I could use neopronouns for Techno, pog)

-When anarch needs to be subtler, or just plain is too tired to put much effort into it, blood will use some of anarch's older molted feathers that have been dyed in order to show which pronouns blood is using at that point.

-Tommy has been known to steal the pogself ones (and pog one time replaced them with chicken feathers. let's just say that this was very much a one time thing)

-Their family has a tradition of braiding feathers into each others hair during preening circles. They preen each others wings, and when one is done they grab some dyed ones from a big bowl and start braiding them in

-When Wil does Techno's, blood usually ends up with a crown of gold and silver feathers, with little downy red ones very carefully hidden between them

-When Tommy's the one doing it, fuck gives anarch a mane of colors, red, yellow, green, blue, and pink all trailing off of him like sparks

-When Phil does it, he usually does just one big loose braid with a few feathers tucked in, all of them dyed in complimentary colors
