WindClan
Morals, values, and customs:
WindClan prides themselves on being the closest to StarClan, based on their closeness to the Mothermouth and being under the open sky at all hours. They sleep out in the open air because they feel safe under Silverpelt and StarClan’s watch. These cats are deeply spiritual, and though they aren’t as rigid on instilling every part of the Code into their apprentice’s brains as ThunderClan, they are, as a group, much more unlikely to be willing to break the Code or do something they believe would displease StarClan. Unlike ThunderClan, they believe that having the eyes of StarClan on them is enough to keep their cats from breaking important rules. Although the Code is still valued highly, they are less inclined to memorize every rule by word, and this is more important for elders and leaders to know.
WindClan have a tendency to be skittish on their own. Though very fast, they have less physical strength than other Clan cats, and can be overpowered by bulkier cats. Because of this, WindClan cats rarely travel alone, and they are known for being fiercely loyal to one another. Personal disputes are gladly forgotten for the sake of protecting their Clanmates. They have less of a family feel to them than RiverClan, as they work much more and are less relaxed, but they share the same sense of undying loyalty to their Clanmates. However, they are still notably quick to take insult, and will bicker with outsiders and among themselves easily.
Because of WindClan’s love of running, they’ll often end arguments by racing. They’ll also race in order to prove their own prowess as a warrior, and will try to show up other cats by outrunning them. Generally, the fastest warriors in the Clan hold as much respect as the senior warriors.
Appearance and skills:
WindClan cats are typically lanky, with long legs and short pelts. Despite their skinny appearance, they are naturally slim, and will have hardened muscles from seasons of running after rabbits. Often, they have larger-than-average ears and slightly longer muzzles. Coloring is typically browns or grays, and spotting is more common here than in other Clans. They have long, thin tails, and long whiskers. They are much taller than other cats.
WindClan’s specialty is speed. They are the fastest cats in the territories, and have surprising endurance to boot. Apprentices spend as much time training to run as they do training to hunt and fight. They are the only cats than can actually catch up to a hare running at full speed, and as such, their diet mainly consists of rabbits, hares, and fowl.
WindClanners aren’t as physically bulky as other warriors, but they make up for this with strategy and numbers. WindClan cats spend time preparing for battles by strategizing every move, and have certain group tactics unheard of in other Clans. Many legendary warriors and leaders were battle strategists, and they remain in WindClan’s legends for that very reason.
Their most secretive skill is that of tunneling. Although only now practiced by a selective few, tunneling is a long-held WindClan tradition. The other Clans once found out about their secret skill, and WindClan led them to believe that they had done away with it due to how dangerous it was. However, they have always kept up with the tunnels, as they provide important prey during winter.
