i'll just say out loud what i think and is the same as many of you who support ukraine.
russian military is not even a serious match to ukraine military if not for the following:
traitors.
russia has nuclear weapons.
civilians being used as human shields in occupied territories as well as those in the areas being constantly attacked by missiles.
population difference. 144mil russians v 44mil ukrainians.
russians think of their own as orcs also and so they feel no loss for their own casualties. they're very brain washed and they are incapable of thinking that russia is not even a race. present russia is a repackaged or rebranded garbage after the fall of the romanov, the provisional govt, and the soviet union. they're using the same white army flag and they conduct themselves pretty much just like the white army. so all the people inside russia had just jumped from 1 hell (soviet union of the red army) to the other hell (russian federation of the white army). except this time, no other regions want any part of that bullshit. regrettably, chechens needed all the help from all other former soviet states to help fight off russians. and all the former soviet states were very selfish and very fearful of getting sucked into russian military conflicts thinking they just need to quickly join nato and not be dragged into another russian civil war like in 1917.
and so just like 2014, there are many many inhibiting factors preventing ukraine to have already beaten russian military. one of the inhibiting factor is also the critical winning factor-democracy. ukraine needs all the ukrainians to feel a sense of ownership instead of the old fashion fascist patriotism. and democracy takes time and the belief of social contract-that the government and the entire population of ukraine will not forget the individuals and not take away their reason to live like russia does to russian citizens.
editorial addition: remember how nearly the entire polish govt perished in a "friendly visit" to russia in 2010?

Making a kobold alchemist for a P2E game.
Heres the current lore dump, subject to change
Degree Brix. Named after a method for measuring percent alcohol in wine (by hydrometer).
Tall for a kobold, 3’ 6” clever. Full of secrets. Hails from [City name here] a city that is now 60% kobold, 20% tallmen 10% dwarf 10% other
City was to doubled in size so the dragon Empyre hired a clan of dwarves to create a new kobold quarter thats well designed to work eat and live in an area, as well as develop the other side of the city for new arts, trading and some residency for taller humanoids.
Empyre is like “the Taylor swift of dragons” to kobolds. This is important because politically the city has elections where the % of power is distributed by % of votes. Most popular is president, second is vice, and after that its consolidated power of individuals who form boards and committees.
Point being this celebrity of a dragon always wins president and treats the govt work as secondary to being an artist. Vice goes to a board of tallmen merchants then its a kobold committee. Dwarves are now independent due to a reexamination of their contract with Emypre compared to the tallmen deal and there was a legal loophole that the land is to the dwarf clan and is considered a separate territory so they are now independent.
So on one hand the infrastructure is pretty good due to early developments but kobolds are being left behind since the “Taylor swift of dragons” spends more time on art than ruling the city.
Alchemist working for the Empyre, primarily for like wine and scalecare products but also a secret project division to either create a dragon or like turn a kobold into a dragon to either create a dynasty for Empyre or its like a way to uplift the kobolds into their own independence depending on how the technology is used. Doesnt have to be a violent revolution but the idea of a small dragon raised as a kobold with kobold ideals…. That could challenge the reign of empyre for popularity.
Brix will have a familiar lab assistant which looks like a kobold of average height, i can see this assistant either being a random bold, or a clone, or like Brix laid an egg and stole um genetic material from Empyre to create a kobold/dragon “half dragon”
Could go a few ways from a frankenstein approach to like a rocky horror vibe of creating the perfect draconic being.

Hey, in the NZ context this is extremely untrue. Many collective agreements (union contracts) include more generous sick leave provisions than the legal minimum, sometimes much more, and unions will absolutely fight for them. This is well-understood as a priority for workers! And there’s no legal reason you couldn’t negotiate for CO2 monitors and ventilation. You can negotiate anything that isn’t explicitly ILlegal, you don’t need a law saying it’s legal to be worried about indoor air quality.
The main barrier, bluntly, is that every collective negotiation has room for a limited number of wins and workers often have other priorities (eg pay in the current environment of govt austerity and high cost of living). But union organising on this issue IS a pathway, it’s just not going to be a fast one.
I think the left completely failed to form an effective covid-safety strategy.
First they failed by putting far too little effort into winning systematic changes (access to health care, access to paid sick leave, ventilation of work- and public spaces, etc) and putting most of the focus on individual behaviors that they could judge individuals for (vaccines and above all masking).
Their second failure was to then primarily rely on punitive pressure and scolding people to achieve that behavior. Which meant that this strategy only kind of worked a little when they had enough people to keep up that pressure. The moment that pressure wasn't enough anymore, most people stopped masking because they'd only even done it because of external pressure.
This left us with nothing. No systematic changes and no group safety.
At that point, the third failure was to change nothing once it became abundantly clear that these tactics weren't working. People wrote comics and long reads and video essays about the lack of solidarity of people who stopped masking, and while there was truth there, that didn't change anything.
Yet at no point did people take stock, re-assess and change strategy. To this day people are just doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. In fact, people seem to just double down. Where they talked about a range of safety measures in the past they've switched to only talking about masking. Where they used a range of tactics in the past, they've switched to only scolding.
And when you challenge them, the response is something like "But I am right, this is unjust, so people should change when I tell them it is unjust". But that's not a strategy. Creating societal change doesn't require being right, it requires having an effective plan on how to actually achieve real change.
And I don't have a full draft of what would make an effective strategy. I think unions could play a big role in achieving things paid sick leave and proper ventilation. But I don't have all the answers either. I think there needs to be an acknowledgement that what's currently happening isn't working, and that a new strategy is long overdue.

Gary Gensler and the SECGov’s days of unconstitutionally increasing Howey, are restricted.” Recall that the company sued Coinbase at the start of June, accusing it of breaching a number of legal guidelines and providing buying and selling companies with alleged unregistered securities. The fruits occurred in mid-July when a US Federal Choose dominated that Ripple’s programmatic XRP gross sales didn't represent a suggestion of funding contracts. “Cities want you back in the office”
The thesis is not buried, folks.
“Cities want you back in the office”
Corpo America wants you back. Cities want you back. Crony Capitalism wants you back. Micromanager bosses want you back.
“Cities seeking to bring workers back to their downtowns face a dilemma: Whether to take away the tax breaks that drew companies to them in the first place and that are often predicated on employees being in their offices a certain amount of the time. Hybrid and remote work have put employers in conflict with such contracts, many of which were written before the pandemic. If attendance remains a requirement, companies may look for more lenient locales — or call workers back to offices. State incentives often only require a certain number of employees to live in-state, allowing the governments can collect income tax.” – LinkedIn News
It's fun to imagine a nationwide strike of people refusing RTO. I just don’t see it happening for any significant length of time. Too many people live paycheck to paycheck and have credit card/personal debt to sit at home unemployed for months. Maybe I’m wrong on this and I will be surprised, I dunno. But I think ultimately, if Corpo America and the govt decree that W2 employees need to c’mon back to the office, that’s what will happen. The alternative is that scabs and AI are brought in faster than planned to replace you. As the casinos say, “The house always wins.”

yeah this is the case for the (new jersey headquartered) pile of legal liabilities that had a software division I worked at where it mostly made money winning govt it contracts and then failing to deliver with a side hustle of convincing muckity-mucks at BP to put their pension system on the blockchain
my impression of the average NJ tech startup is that there are approximately 50 suits for every programmer and this ends up breaking even somehow because the suits attract clients that will overpay by a factor of a hundred if they can be made to think there's a sufficient air of corporate professionalism

I'm not unsympathetic toward the Palestinians, but what modern nation - what nation period - has ever emerged without a bodycount to its name? Not America. Not China. Certainly not any of Israel's neighbors. If it didn't show off its guns and rockets every now and again, how could it hope to be seen as equal to any of them?
I'm not sure I agree with this line of reasoning(i actually find it a pretty concerning line of reasoning)
For one, no one (reasonable) is saying that Israel shouldn't defend itself. People are saying the use of force is disproportionate, and certain Israeli policies, including the enforcement of Israeli contract law on what is likely Palestinian Territory, is wrong - and that Israel has some responsibility to that. Then you can dig a bit more into the settlements and other policies being pushed by folks like Netanyahu that aggravate these situations. Whether you agree or not, there is a wide consensus that these actions threaten peace negotiations and agitate the situation.
And almost none of Israel's neighbors are gearing up for anything, including those neighbors with which Israel has a contentious history. Many of these nations have normalized relations in recent years and aren't getting involved more than superficially. So, i don't think the idea of killing people with rockets or guns or whatever just to "show that you're an equal" is a good argument to win sympathy for the Israeli govt nor is it a realistic response to what's happening.
Though i think folks in Hamas and in the Israeli govt should work toward cooling this situation, this argument makes Israel out to be bloodthirsty and sociopathic. As for America and China, these countries have violent histories and also continue to perpetuate violence. At least for America, we have these important conversations as well as a decent number of cynical folks that want more restraint, and for the most part, those conversations ARE moving the USA away from being so outwardly militaristic, as slow as that process may be. Israel has it's fair share of political parties and folks that also want a change, i don't think it's as simple as Israel just wanting to show off rockets to be seen as a big player - this idea would really just destroy any argument about any of this being about the defense of Israel and would just make Israel fully responsible as the antagonistic party. So if your argument is that this is all okay because Israel is just showing off, i don't think it's a good talking point and seems to be cruel. Real life isn't an Age of Empires match.
Anyhow, the issue is complicated as always, but at the end of the day, Israel is a large regional power and has the upper hand over Palestine, and this isn't the first time that response to threats have been seen as disproportionate. I'm not much of a pacifist these days, but i do think nations of the world need to keep these power dynamics in mind and have a responsibility to work toward calm. The images I've seen are very horrifying and scary, so hopefully cooler heads prevail.

Farmers-Agitation
I cannot fathom why a farmer would protest against these bills which clearly are going to make him/her more free to choose whom to sell to and for how much. I would worry about the provisions if smaller state farmers were to object - surprisingly, even Maharashtra has not shown any problems with the bill so far Many of the farmers were holding Red flags which signifies CPI. CPI has tried to support farmers to win some seats in the area such as Rajasthan, Punjab To say it in one line, The Farm Bill definitely has loopholes, but it can be readily solved. The bill is progressive in nature. And some of the problems are already being solved. It has been introduced for betterment of the farmers. Questions arise. 1) Why will farmers protest when 2.5 times food grains have been brought at 4 times the prices by BJP government ? 2) When MSP has been increasing at a far greater rate in BJP rule then in Congress rule, then why will farmers protest? 3) A farmer doesn’t have power to fight against large corporates. 4) The concept of MSP is not found in any law, ie, the Act of Parliament, even though it has been around for decades. So, can you specify how can a government include MSP in the act? 5) What if farmers are oppressed by low prices after some time?
To say it in one line, The Farm Bill definitely has loopholes, but it can be readily solved. The bill is progressive in nature. And some of the problems are already being solved. It has been introduced for betterment of the farmers.
But the protesters are majorly against these 4 aspects of the bill.
Contract Farming- To give you an example, this basically means that a Tomato farmer can now sign a direct contract with Domino’s or McDonalds and deliver them tomatoes for their sauce or burgers respectively at a pre-fixed price. corporates come with huge power and influence, and the protestants are vary they’ll exploit the farmers rather than uplifting them. One loophole is that the corporates can consult a financial consultant and try manipulating with the prices that the farmer owns for his produce. Another loophole in this bill is that it won’t benefit the small farmers that much. Because most corporates simply won’t invest their time in going and dealing with 100s of small farmers. They’ll go to a single player who can fulfil their requirements. ->But an intermediary body to help farmers understand the contracts and other parts of the deal could solve this problem.
Essential Commodities- The government with this bill removed stocking limits on essentials like Onions, Potatoes, Cereals with the 2nd part of the bill, i.e. The Essential Commodities Act. So, now traders & other corporate players can create the infrastructure to store the surplus food that is being wasted every day due to inadequate storing godown. This would prevent these items from touching sky-high prices in some parts of the year, as the supplies would be adequate. But Farmers fear that these traders and private players would buy from the farmers when the prices are low, store it, and would sell only when the supply goes less, eventually getting higher prices for it. This would again lead to farmer’s exploitation.
The Mandi Tax- The 3rd section of The Farm Bill allows a farmer from any state to go and sell his produce in any other state. So, an Apple farmer from Kashmir and directly go and sell his apples in Mumbai! The problem lies in the fact that this bill would reduce the importance of Mandis among farmers. And since Mandis are operated by State govts., who charge a Mandi tax on each farmer’s sale, this would lower their tax collections, and they don’t want that.
Minimum Support Price (MSP)-The government anyway doesn’t buy all the essential commodities themselves, and it’s a fact only 6% of the farmers get the benefits of MSP. So, it sounds like the next step that the government would stop MSP and let the market dictate the pricing.
The new rules will increase the number of buyers and will give freedom to the farmers to sell anywhere in the country which will help in increasing the price of Agriculture produce. After the introduction of these laws, the farmers will be allowed to send their produce anywhere and it will not be mandatory for them to go to the mandi, With the arrival of new buyers, the total number of buyers will increase, so there is every possibility of an increase in the price. There is also a possibility that after a few years the government will not be required to declare the minimum support price, because the increase in the number of these buyers will increase the price so much so that it may always be above the minimum support price.
These three laws are beneficial to the farmers and rural economy as well, but it is not that the new system will make the farmers happy by doing a complete miracle. Yes, this will be a new beginning and due to the increased competition in purchase, gradually, farmers will start getting their fair price.

The Blue-Haired Minnie Mouse/ Purple Hoodie Guy
September 14, 2020 (6 months after Hellish pandemic break loose)
The situation is not getting any better in the Philippines. Everything is just being a huge joke here and we’re not actually getting proper response from the high ranking officials. Hence, I cannot help but feel quite hopeless with the situation. Also, the toxicity of my fandom has been getting to me at one point in time. So I have decided to go away for a bit, and go back to what soothes me at hard times, Music.
Truth be told, I liked his former band’s music, but I’m not in to the point that I will be stanning them as hard as I am doing right now. (I’m really not into KPOP except for Blackpink so I don’t have much reference... And I usually like ballad and relaxing songs.) I didn’t have the time to watch series then because I was too busy in my former job. Also, I have been into writing way before, so I would be satisfied with listening to their music from time to time.
However, by the time that I have fallen in love with their band, 9by9th, I found out that their “End Route” means the end already, no more renewal of contract of 1 year. I was quite devastated with the news and I kinda took it hard and tried to go fan girl over series instead. *SOBS*
(9x9th members: L-R: Thanapob, Ryu, Captain, Porsche ^^, JameyJames, Third, Jackie, Jaylerr, IceParis)
When Trinity debuted, I was really focused on Third and I can remember that I cried over their MV (Hater’s Got Nothing) because I thought that Third will be able to continue with what he’s passionate about. (Third is originally from Kamikaze group but the company disbanded, and his second group is 9x9th but disbanded as well after one year). I kind of followed them for a bit but then I started managing Philippine Fan club bases of my favorite series, with everything that happened, I got too busy... but all I can remember then was the old me crying because I cannot buy the merchandise from before. (Quite a noob then and I didn’t know about pasabuys and stuff.. so yeah). T_T.
(Trinity members: L-R: Jackie, Porsche <3, JMJ, Third)
Before hell broke lose in the whole world, I had the opportunity to go back to Thailand for the second time and I met those artists that I am following. I actually wanted to meet Trinity but there was no opportunity for me to do so because I didn’t even check their schedule then and I think there wasn’t any update regarding their work, so yeah... T_T. (Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed my stay in Bangkok)
So yeah.. After probably taking in shit from the govt for about 7 months already, and toxicity from something that I really used to enjoy and made me smile, I started to distance myself for a bit because what I really need now is not stress, but something that will probably lift up my mood. So what I did was to stress myself even further... watch mystery series that will probably make your head burst into thinking... so in the end, I actually stopped watching BL series and stumbled into their first series together as 9x9 boys, In Family We Trust.
So an excerpt from Wikipedia says,
The Jiraanan family is a wealthy ethnic Chinese business family, whose extended family spans three generations. Grandfather (A-gong) and Grandmother (A-ma) have four children. Prasoet, the eldest son, heads the family business, Jirananta Hotel, and manages its main Bangkok location, while Phatson, the only daughter, manages its Pattaya branch. Met, the second son, is a single stay-at-home parent, while the youngest son Konkan lives a playboy lifestyle. Among them (and a deceased fifth sibling), they have nine third-generation children. The family members seem to get along well as they celebrate A-gong's birthday, but when he dies of old age shortly after, and his will is revealed to exclude Phatson from inheritance of the hotel, she gets into an argument with Prasoet regarding its management. Prasoet is then found dead from a gunshot in his bedroom, and Phatson becomes a prime suspect. Prasoet's wife Chris also becomes suspected when it is revealed that Prasoet had been seeing a mistress for twenty years. The grandchildren, especially Prasoet and Chris's son Pete and Phatson's eldest son Yi, become involved as each family tries to prove their innocence and uncover the mystery of the case.
This was the first time that I started to look at him. Porsche played the character of Kuaitiao, the orphaned grandson who lived with Grandpa and Grandma. Kuaitiao is actually an art student here and he’s passionate about his drawings.
What probably captured my attention is his ability to lighten up the mood around him. Even at awkward situations he was able to make me laugh. And probably the fact that he’s close to his grandma and a sweet grandchild even if he’s an adopted one. It kinda got into me. I’ll be honest. There was a scene where Grandma wouldn’t eat, and he pretended to be angry and did not eat as well. I found it cute and smiled at first, but after few moments, I was sobbing already. He made me miss my grandma who passed away last July 15.
Over all, I loved his acting here. Rating 4.5/5
(But please, don’t make him cry because I’ll end up crying as well).
(He’s such a precious person guys, pleaseeeee... make him smile a lot, okay?)
So, of course, once you’re interested in your new bias wrecker’s work, you’re going to check his latest and previous works, right? So what I did next is watched their latest series (still with 9x9 boys, but this time, it was 7/9 only. I just found out that Thanapob cannot join the series anymore because he’s busy filming another series and Ryu is actually an actor of another channel. Hence, his few appearances as Macao in In Family We Trust) entitled as, Great Men Academy.
(Great Men Academy Cast: Porsche as P’Good <3, Third as Nuclear, JameyJames as Love, Jackie as Menn, Captain as Sean, Jaylerr as Tangmo, and IceParis as Vier)
The excerpt of the story is as stated below,
Love (Chanyapuk Numprasop) has always been a fan of the popular guy Vier (Paris Intarakomalyasut) of the famous all boys high school Great Men Academy, but she has never had the chance to meet him. One day, she sees the mystical unicorn rumored to fulfill wishes and wished for her love for Vier to get a chance.
Unfortunately, the unicorn interpreted her wishes in a different way and Love wakes up to find herself in a male's body. She is able to switch between genders under the condition that she must return as a girl before midnight each night. Love attends Great Men Academy as a guy, and works through the complications of winning Vier's heart and meeting new people while trying to keep her identity a secret.
I actually fell in love with P’Good’s character here because he’s such a stern but doting brother. Good is kinda strict when it comes to Love at first because he has to be strong for their whole family because his dad passed away. He’s a very smart guy, yet clumsy fellow. He can also be shy when it comes to Me. (His crush in the series. Why can’t it be “me” instead? Just kidding).
Over all, I loved how he brought to life my favorite glasses ikemen on this series. He made me cry with the way he handled the vulnerability of his sister, Love. His acting for me in this series is a complete 5.0/5.0! *For the love of Good, Please?*
I rest my case. I’m dying again of spazzing to Phi Good. (Okay. I have a huge crush on this character. The character, okay?!) hahaha
Wait... let me breathe for just a bit... *hyperventilates in Good’s name*
Then after watching the said series, I started to rewatch their Elements MV. And that got me hooked. I noticed his talent in rapping, singing and dancing that I wouldn’t have normally seen in the first place because I have a bias of my own before.
It’s like the more that I watch him, the more I fall for this person (in terms of being a fan of his). I kind of accepted that he’s my bias on Trinity now when I saw this video. (ปาว ปาว (Shout) – V.R.P kamikaze)
I’ve been reading articles about him when I came across the interview of Bangkok Post with Third and Porsche regarding their new work. (being 9x9th members and In Family We Trust). I found out that Porsche was actually a member of VRP of Kamikaze and I watched all his previous work. So when I saw the video Paw Paw/ (Shout), I burst into laughter. I knew from that time that he’s such a funny guy and he’s giving me positive vibes.
As I continued watching, I saw him with a Minnie mouse headband, and I lost it... I laughed a lot, which I rarely do these days. So by then, I wasn’t able to help it, I started to love this kid more.
I continued to watch all the showcases, the fancams, the v-live videos, the vlogs about him and goodness gracious, I am really swoon. This kid is such an interesting person and I really regret not knowing him right away.
As I get to know him, the more I admire him. I mean... for real, it’s even funny knowing his quirks. Like he likes to draw stuff, he likes to play the piano, he loves Anime and his favorite anime is Hitman Reborn! (I wonder if he likes Hibari Kyoya too). Anyway aside from his talent, another selling factor of him to me is his positivity towards life.

His positivity and his ambition would inspire you to do well and go on no matter how difficult things may be.
Thank you Porsche, you are indeed a good source of a breather in my life. Things have been quite difficult in the Philippines and no matter how much I wanted to take a vacation now, I can’t. Your music makes me smile a lot and at times, I forget my worries when I watch you dance. It’s like watching someone you idolize do what they love to do and give it all with passion makes you motivated as well and keeps you going.
Truth be told, you remind me of one of my favorite persons. He used to be brimming with life. But covid made things difficult for him... well it made things difficult for everyone. I really hope he gets his footing soon.
PS. I might not be able to get to know you in person in this life, but I really wish you success. I will always be watching from afar. :)
I’ll be waiting for your come back again. Thanks a bunch XX :)
