☞ About A-frames (aka Wigwams) in revisited memories
Recently I found myself cleaning my hard drive and found lovely scraps of my past. That was a pretty day on a windy and rainy island that ended up with very good fish and chips if I remember correctly.

William Wallace

TODAY IN HISTORY:
September 11, 1297 - Scots under William Wallace defeat the English at Stirling Bridge
The English force attempted to cross the River Forth via a narrow wooden bridge in front of the Scottish lines. During the fight, under the overwhelming weight, the bridge collapsed. Although vastly outnumbered, the Scottish army routed the English army.
One particularly prominent English knight, Sir Hugh Cressingham, was killed early in the fight, butchered when he fell from his horse. According to legend, Cressingham’s skin was used to make a sheath for Wallace’s sword. The Lanercost Chronicle records that Wallace had "a broad strip [of Cressingham's skin] ... taken from the head to the heel, to make therewith a baldrick for his sword".
On August 23, 1305, Wallace was indicted and condemned to death. There was no trial because he was declared a traitor to the king; Wallace emphatically denied this charge, as he had never sworn allegiance to Edward. That same day he was hanged, disemboweled, and finally beheaded and quartered at Smithfield. Wallace's head was dipped in tar and placed on a spike atop London Bridge and his limbs exposed at Newcastle, Berwick, Stirling, and Perth.

Theoden/Aragorn/WilliamWallace... Persuasion or Performance check?
@JeremyECrawford @ChrisPerkinsDnD Theoden/Aragorn/WilliamWallace inspirational speeches to their armies: Persuasion or Performance check? — Fausto Passarelli (@fau_pas) October 29, 2016 It's about intent. A great image of the William Wallace statue sculpted by William Grant Stevenson in the late 1800's. Wikipedia says, The William Wallace Statue was erected 1888 in Aberdeen, Scotland, and depicts Sir William Wallace. Sculpted by William Grant Stevenson, the statue is positioned opposite His Majesty's Theatre and across from Union Terrace Gardens. "It was paid for with funds left for the purpose by John Steill of 38 Grange Road in Edinburgh, the son of James Steill sometime of Easter Baldowrie in Angus." It is a category B listed building. The statue bears this inscription: I tell you a truth, liberty is the best of all things, my son, never live under any slavish bond. #creativeaberdeen #aberdeenculture #art #architecture #music #history #film #design #poetry #fashion #learning #aberdeenartists #creativescotland #granitecity #aberdeen #scotland #moc83 #williamwallace https://www.instagram.com/p/Cj5Fsmuqq0W/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

#WilliamWallace #Escocia #Londres #Rebelion #Independencia #Soldado #Europa #Historia https://www.instagram.com/p/CEPOzObl6BOE5OhiTZhOsy8VZ5M6X04QFh8no40/?igshid=1ku88gby1iczi
