Your eye spring open as you are woken by the sound of loud, gravely coughs. Your head was currently resting on William’s chest, so you tilted your head upwards to look at his face for answers. You see his eyes are shut and his lips are slightly parted; presumably so he could breathe more easily. You lean your elbow on the mattress while shifting your body upwards so you can check his temperature with the back of your hand, and his eyes slowly open to look at your concerned face. William looks up at you lovingly before his eyes widen in realization and he starts shifting away from you.

“My love, please stay away! I would hate for you to become sick as well,” he tells you, panicked. You notice his voice sounds different, most likely due to the congestion building up in his nose and throat.

You chuckle lightly, amused at his reaction. “My dear husband, you look so unwell I doubt you can even get up from bed on your own. Please, let me take care of you.” The corner of William’s lip curls knowingly, amused yet not surprised at your stubbornness.

“Very well,” he sighs reluctantly. You give him a quick peck on the cheek before pulling the blankets over him again. You brush some stray hairs from his forehead, looking down at him with a soft smile. He returns your gaze before moving his face to the side quickly so he can cough. You chuckle lightly while getting up from the bed, and William immediately misses you being next to him.

“Try to get some rest dear,” you sing while walking towards your wardrobe, intent on getting dressed. “I will return shortly to check on you.” Typically the two of you would engage in casual conversation at this time; giggling and flirting before William went to work and you began your household duties. However, this time there was only the sound of quiet shuffling due to you getting ready for the day and William’s nasally breaths. He watches you adoringly— his mind racing with thoughts of wanting to do nothing more than hold and cherish you all day (among other things)—but instead he was sick and bedridden, forcing you to have to care for him instead. His chest tightens as his eyelids flutter closed, but not before he silently prays that his dreams will be filled with thoughts of you.

He wakes a few hours later, blinking dazedly in confusion when he realizes he can’t feel your presence next to him. William sits up in the bed abruptly as if it would give any insight into where you were. Out of the corner of his eye he notices a form on his bedside table that he does not recognize, and when he turns his head to look at it more clearly he sees a large basket over-flowing with various trinkets. Next to it is a vase filled with red and purple chrysanthemums, which causes William to smile to himself.

The basket itself was filled with various homemade teas, cough syrups, a large bottle of elderberry wine, a loaf of bread, and a mysterious envelope. Whilst picking up the envelope to examine its contents, William briefly wonders how you had time to make and produce all of these items. Though he knew you were exceptionally talented in a multitude of areas, the two of you rarely spent any time apart, aside from him going to work. He is shaken from his musings when he hears the door creak open, turning to his side to see you slowly walk in the room with a steaming bowl of soup and a cup of tea on a tray. He smiles, his face softening at the sight of you coming closer to him.

“Oh, you’re awake!” you exclaim as you walk around to place the tray on his lap and sit on the edge of the bed. William reaches his arm out from under the covers to rest his hand on yours. He gently strokes the top of your hand with the pad of his thumb absentmindedly, losing himself in thought.

“How are you feeling?” you ask. He looks up, away from the tray of soup and into your concerned eyes after your question. William gets lost in your eyes, gazing at you adoringly despite his clear state of physical distress. When he doesn’t respond to your previous question, your eyebrows furrow in concern and you speak again. “William?”

“Oh right yes,” he says quickly, clearly startled. “Honestly about the same as before—just slightly less tired,” he admits. He glances down at the still unopened envelope in his lap, the tray of soup, and back at the basket on his beside table before looking at you. “Thank you so much darling, for everything. I’d be lost without you.”

“I love you too,“ you whisper, sealing your promise with a kiss to his forehead. William closes his eyes, savoring the feeling of you touching him, and wishing desperately that he was able to kiss you without getting you sick. When you pull away you grab the spoon from his tray, filling it with the soup you made and bringing it to his lips. His eyebrows raise slightly, surprised at your gesture. His lips part to welcome the liquid into his mouth, and as it travels down his throat he notices the immediate relief he feels. A warm, comforting silence passes over as you continue feeding him until he is full. After a few, brief moments, William takes the mug of tea from the tray and sets in on his bedside table, allowing you to leave the room to take the tray and bowl back to the kitchen. In your absence, William decides to open the letter from earlier.

William feels his heart drop at the intricate lace and detailing of your card, hit with the immediate realization that he completely forgot about Valentine’s Day. He knows you probably would’ve done all of this for him had he been sick on any other day, but his chest tightens in disappointment that he wasn’t able to take you somewhere and spoil you for your first Valentine’s Day as a married couple. He had been planning for weeks now, pestering Robert and John at all hours of the day with his thoughts about the perfect Valentine’s Day to spend with you so that he could adequately display his love for you. Instead, here he was lying in bed, being useless. His heart sinks again when he realizes that he hasn’t even acknowledged it was Valentines Day to you, seemingly haven forgotten due to feeling so unwell. He chastises himself, here he was planning these grand gestures to display his affection and he couldn’t even be bothered to say a simple phrase.

When you walk back in the room, William notices you holding a small basin and a wet cloth. You sit next to him once again, bringing the cloth to his forehead and wiping it gently. He briefly thinks of how pointless it is of you to do so, as his nervousness is almost certainly causing him to sweat more—but decides to breach the subject anyways to hopefully relieve his anxieties.

“My love,” he starts, his sore throat causing his voice to come out weakly. “I am so, so sorry. I seem to have completely forgotten about Valentine’s Day. I know it must seem insincere after all you’ve done, but I swear to you that I had plans and I wanted to take you somewhere—“ he cuts himself off, feeling tears prick the corner of his eyes at the thought of you feeling unloved and unappreciated. “I hope you do not resent me for it.”

You continue dabbing his forehead as you speak. “Why would I resent you? William, you’re ill. I hardly expect you to walk, much less take me out to dinner in this state.” William looks down at his hands, a whisper of a smile forming on his face due to your understanding nature. He looks back up at you with a concerned face—seemingly about to apologize—but you cut him off before he can begin. “I love you for you, William. Not for your romantic gestures. Please just focus on getting better.”

“Thank you, my love.” William averts his eyes from yours, his cheeks pink. “I know it hasn’t been long, but I miss your touch already.”

“Well, there’s a simple remedy for that,” you grin. You walk around the edge of the bed, lifting off the covers to slide into the bed next to William. William scoffs in disbelief before weakly attempting to scoot away from you.

“Darling, y-you can’t! I couldn’t live with myself if I made you feel this awful,” he admits.

You wrap your arms around him anyways, resting your head on his chest again. “If I do get sick, all that will happen is that you’ll have to take time off from work to lay in bed with me for a few days,” you counter, pressing your lips against his neck. “Which, in my humble opinion seems like a reward, if anything. I’m willing to take the risk.” You lift your head up to give your husband a mischievous grin, which causes him to scoff in amusement.

“I can’t promise I can care for you as well as you do for me,” he admits earnestly, glancing over to the basket next to his table. “Honestly, dearest, you are incredible. I don’t know what I did to deserve you, but I thank the heavens everyday for the privilege of being your husband, I love you so much.” William was about to continue gushing about you, expressing his love, but he was cut off by having to turn his head quickly so he didn’t sneeze and cough all over your face. His coughs persisted for several more moments; long enough for him to feel exhausted once again.

“Speaking of taking care of you,” you start. “Perhaps it’s time for you to take one of those cough syrups and get some more rest.” You reach over William’s chest to grab one from the basket, and the two of you smile at each other when your hands meet due to him having the same idea. He drinks it quickly, enjoying the taste and sensation of honey traveling down his throat. As it did so, he noticed that he felt ever-so-slightly less awful. Perhaps it was all in his head, or perhaps the notion that love cures all is actually true. You lay your head on his chest and William wraps his arm around your waist, pulling you closer. He closes his eyes and smiles in his sleep, dreaming of nothing but you and him and your beautiful life together.

Summary: William comes back from work and keep you company while you write a letter.

You were sitting at your desk, writing a letter to an old friend you hadn't seen in a long time when William came back home. But too focused, you didn't hear the front door opening, or William calling for you or even when he stepped inside your bedroom. It was only when William sat beside you and kissed your cheek, startling you.

"Oh, sorry dear. I didn't mean to scare you."

"It's okay." You told him with a smile, delighted he was finally back home. "How was your day? You didn't get anything thrown to your face again?" Somehow, your husband kept getting in trouble all the time and you weren't surprised anymore when he came back home with a bruise.

"No, not today, fortunately." William chuckled. "Work was fine but Dr Hendriks still doesn't want to listen to my ideas for the patients."

"I'm so sorry sweetheart." You said as you put your pen down and looked at William. He was looking down at his hands, probably remembering all his previous failed attempts to help his patients. "I know you'll change things for the best one day."

"Thank you, dear. Do you mind if I sit with you while you write?"

"No, at all. On contrary, I would love to, darling."

William put his head on your shoulder, wrapped an arm around your back and closed his eyes. You started writing your letter again, occasionally putting your pen down to pet William's hair, making him sigh each time.

Once you finished writing your letter, you found that William had dozed off.

"William, dear. I finished writing." You told him, stroking his hair once more. But instead of standing up, William only nested himself closer to you.

"William." You laughed. "I'm going to have to stand up at some point."

"You're warm, I don't want to let you go," William said, still not moving from his place or opening his eyes.

"I'm not going anywhere darling."

Mat Baynton Characters + How They Propose To You

I don’t know why William’s part ended up so much longer than the rest of them, but these things happen, I guess. I really like writing these so if you have any suggestions for topics please send them to me!

Thomas Thorne

Thomas wants nothing more than to propose to you in a very romantic, over-the-top fashion, but with the both of you being ghosts, he obviously cannot. The fact that he can’t even get you a ring distresses him to no end! But still, he knows that he wants to marry you, and spend eternity by your side, so he does the best he can. He asks Alison to get flowers (he’s very specific on the exact type of flowers she needs to acquire), which she uses to decorate the library, in which Thomas plans to propose to you. Thomas leads you to the library, where he asks you to sit down by the window, one of his favourite places to spend time with you. He prepared a (rather long) poem to propose to you with, and you’re both tearing up as he reads it. When you finally get the chance to tell him that yes, you will marry him, he has the biggest grin on his face, and he wraps you up tightly in his arms, whispering to you about how lucky he is to have found you.

Jamie Winton

Jamie would favour a more low-key proposal, but he’d still want it to be special and romantic, so he proposes when he brings you breakfast in bed. He makes you breakfast in bed every weekend, so the gesture doesn’t seem out of place, but the nervous expression on his face and the little box sitting next to your toast certainly do. You look over to Jamie, who’s now kneeling beside the bed, with wide eyes, and he awkwardly smiles at you. He starts giving you this cute little speech about how much he loves you, blushing the whole time. Honestly, you want to just interrupt him so you can tell him “yes”, but you let him say what he needs to say. Once he’s done talking you very enthusiastically accept his proposal, before placing your breakfast aside and pulling Jamie back into bed. You’d have time to eat later, right now you just want to show your fiancé how much you love him.

Ariel Conroy

Ariel wants to go all out when he proposes to you, because under the surface he’s actually quite the romantic. Still, he proposes when you’re at home because of privacy reasons. The whole thing is meticulously planned out – your favourite meal for dinner, bouquets of your favourite flowers, and even some (incredibly porny) poetry that he’s written for you. On the surface he looks very confident, but inside he’s just so slightly nervous that you might say no (and he wouldn’t be able to handle that). Though the whole night is very organised, the proposal itself is quite simple. After all of the dramatics, he pulls you towards him, tilting your chin upwards so you’re looking at him and asks, “Marry me?”. When you say “yes”, Ariel’s eyes light up and he smiles before kissing you, vowing to never let you get away like he did with Hawkwind.

Bill Shakespeare

Bill is going to relish in the romance and drama of proposing to you. Leading up to the proposal, he sends you all kinds of flowers and other gifts for about a week before he finally pops the question. When the day comes, he’s even more affectionate with you than you’re used to; you lose count of how many times he kisses your hand. The proposal itself is certainly very long and poetic, as he gets down on one knee and holds your hands gently in his while he says his piece. The combination of his beautiful words and the adoring way he’s looking up at you proves to make you incredibly flustered and emotional. Once he finally gets to the point and asks you if you’ll be his wife, you accept immediately. Bill is so happy with your answer that he jumps back to his feet and passionately kisses you, only stopping to grin brightly at you.

William Agar

William is so nervous that he can hardly speak. You were told that he wanted to see you, but for a great deal of time you’re just both sitting there in silence as he stares at you. You ask him multiple times if he’s feeling alright, to which he wordlessly nods, but you’re not quite convinced. You assure him that he need not be nervous with you, because he can say anything, and you will be happy to listen. William seems to take these words as encouragement and he stands up, taking a deep breath, before beginning to pace around the room. He’s barely able to keep eye contact with you as he begins listing all the things he admires about you, and you’re pretty sure you know where this is going but you don’t want to make assumptions (though you have been courting for a while, so you’re not exactly surprised).

He even gets a little self-deprecating at one point, where he ponders over whether he’s even good enough for you, to which you speak up and tell him that of course he is. William smiles and blushes before getting back to his speech. Eventually he finishes and finally turns to look at you, looking as if he may faint. Shakily, he kneels down in front of you, before asking very quietly if you’ll do him the honour of becoming his wife. Of course, you say yes, and he looks baffled for a moment before grabbing your hand and kissing it a few times (you can tell that he’s crying a little bit but you choose to say nothing of it). You’d love to actually kiss him properly, but you know that you’re not truly alone and it would be improper. Besides, you’ll have all the time in the world for that once you’re married.

Chris Pitt-Goddard

Chris’ proposal seems to come out of nowhere. You’re cuddled up on the sofa watching TV when he just randomly asks you to marry him. You’re pretty sure he’s just messing with you at first – you’d heard from Tim that Chris believes that marriage is just a useless institution that the government uses to keep tabs on people – so you just laugh it off. But when Chris pulls out the ring he bought for you you’re pretty sure it’s no joke. It looks obscenely expensive, and you have no idea he could have afforded it on a teacher’s salary (spoiler alert: he definitely stole a bunch of money through various schemes to buy it for you). He looks up at you from where his head is resting on your chest with a massive goofy grin as he awaits your reply. You’re surprised for sure, but you can’t say that you’re anywhere close to disappointed, so of course you say “yes”. Chris tries to play it cool, though he’s still grinning, before leaning in to kiss you, leaving whatever show you were watching to be forgotten in the background.

Thomas Thorne

When someone walks in on the two of you during a private moment, Thomas is embarrassed, of course, but he’s more concerned about you. He’ll try and cover you up to the best of your ability if you’re too shocked to do so yourself. How likely he is to snap at the person who walked in depends on who it is, and how quickly they leave the room, but he’ll definitely be annoyed at the interruption regardless. If someone makes any jokes or comments about it later, he’ll get quite riled up — especially if the comments are aimed towards you — and will probably get into a fight over it.

When you and Jamie are interrupted while in bed together, his face goes bright red, and he is likely to get a little bit snappy with whoever it is that walked in, semi-politely asking them to leave (if we’re being realistic, it’s probably Dave, who would definitely think the whole situation is very funny). Once the two of you are alone again, Jamie will be an embarrassed mess, and you’ll have to stop what you were doing to comfort him and assure him that it’s not that bad. He’s mumbling under his breath about how the one time he forgets to lock the door, this is what happens. If he’s reminded of the incident again later, he’ll go all red again and want to leave the room.

Ariel Conroy

Ariel is not happy when someone walks in on the two of you together. He hates that someone else has seen you in such a compromising situation, because you’re his and these kinds of things should be for his eyes only. He’ll definitely end up yelling at whoever walked in, threatening and chastising them for not being polite enough to knock before entering a room. After you’re alone again, he’ll be perfectly willing to get back down to business, but he may be a little bit rougher with you than before due to being so frustrated over other people’s incompetence.

Bill Shakespeare

Bill isn't too bothered about being caught, but he’ll make sure to get the other person out as quickly as possible. Once it’s just the two of you again, he’ll probably crack some dumb joke to try and lighten the mood, though if the joke doesn’t land because you’re feeling too embarrassed, he’ll try his best to comfort you and let you know that you have nothing to be ashamed of. If you want to keep going once you’ve calmed down, he’ll be happy to, but he’ll also be fine to stop if that’s what you want instead.

William Agar

William pretty much goes into shock when someone catches the two of you together, regardless of who it is. He won't be able to get a word out, so you'll have to be responsible for getting the other person to leave and restoring your privacy. He might take a while to settle his nerves enough to be able to speak again, and even then he'll most likely be too shaken to continue what you had been doing, which of course, you're understand. If someone brings up the situation later, he'll go back into shock again.

Chris Pitt-Goddard

Chris isn’t really that embarrassed that you’ve been caught, but he is quite irritated that the intrusion has brought things to a standstill. He’ll be very impatient for the other person to leave so the two of you can continue as soon as possible, and will shoo them out of the room if need be. As soon as they're gone, he'll just look at you with a smile and ask "so, where were we?", and will be very enthusiastic to get straight back to it, almost as if you were never interrupted.

This post made me think about playing spin the bottle with the Baynton boys, and I just had to write something about it. Please excuse me if none of it makes much sense, because this was written early in the morning before I’ve taken my medication. I hope it’s still enjoyable, though!!! Thomas is enthusiastic for a chance to finally kiss you, but that doesn’t mean he won’t take a moment to enjoy the anticipation, cradling your face in his hands and admiring your beauty for a few moments before your lips touch. He takes it very slowly, wanting your first kiss together to be a very romantic moment that you’ll think about forever. His thumbs gently stroke against your cheeks, practically making you melt against him. When you pull away, Thomas looks at you with such adoring eyes that it takes all of the restraint you have to just not kiss him again.

Jamie is nervous, but regardless he comes over to you and looks at you with wide eyes, asking you quietly “is this alright?” before he makes any moves. Once you’ve told him “yes”, he takes a deep breath, placing his hand on your cheek before leaning in to gently kiss you. He’s sweet and tentative, allowing you to take the lead and decide how long the kiss lasts for. When you pull back, you can’t help but notice how cute Jamie is when he looks at you like that, with his cheeks flushed a shade of bright pink.

Ariel wastes no time in gripping you tightly and crashing his lips against yours, rough enough that it might leave bruises — it seems that the prospect of you kissing someone else (especially Jamie) has made him very jealous! His fingers tangle in your hair as he keeps you as close as possible, kissing you until you’re breathless. Once he’s done he doesn’t let you go immediately, choosing to keep you there with your foreheads pressed together for a few moments. He just wants you all to himself.

Bill grins at you, lifting your chin up so you’ll look at him. He tells you that there’s no need to be nervous, even if you’re not, his free hand resting against your cheek. He leans in to kiss you, gently at first, but he deepens it once he knows you’re definitely into it as well. The kiss lasts a bit longer than it probably should have, and you both can barely breathe once it’s done, but Bill is still looking at you with the same grin after you’ve pulled back.

William is so nervous that you have to come to him. He basically freezes up, so overwhelmed with the thought that he’ll get to kiss you. So you ask him if it’s alright if you kiss him, and he nods enthusiastically at you, his eyes wider than you’ve ever seen them. So you kiss him softly, not wanting to overwhelm him, but it seems like after a few seconds, William finds his courage and begins kissing you like his life depends on it. Once you’ve finally pulled apart, he can barely look at you, embarrassed about whatever had come over him, but you put your hand on his cheek and tell him that it was wonderful.

Chris is in front of you as soon as he knows it’s his chance to kiss you; like you’re sure you’ve never seen him move so quickly. He looks at you with a huge grin, before he suddenly kisses you, and you can still feel him smiling against your lips. You run your fingers through his soft hair, and he wraps his arms around you, wanting to have you as close as humanly possible. You can tell he wants to keep kissing you once you’re done, and he looks so cute with his hair all messed up and his pink cheeks that you can’t help but think it’s a good idea.

Thomas Thorne

Thomas wakes up before you, unable to stop himself from gazing at you and marveling at how beautiful you look in the soft morning light. His smile only grows when your eyes begin to flutter open, and words cannot describe the joy he feels when you sleepily move closer to him and rest your head against his chest. He wraps his arms around you, and thinks to himself about how lucky he is, that he'll be waking up with you like this every morning from now on.

Jamie Winton

You and Jamie both awake to the sound of his alarm - which he had forgotten to turn off - and your lovely, romantic moment of waking up in his arms is ruined by his mad scrambling to try and make the noise stop. Once you've settled back down, you can't help but feel a little bit shy, both of you blushing and smiling at each other softly, murmuring quiet "good morning"s. After allowing yourselves the chance to properly wake up, Jamie makes you breakfast and you can safely say that it's the happiest morning you've had.

Ariel Conroy

Ariel is surprisingly very clingy to you in his sleep, and you wake up to find yourself wrapped up in his arms so tightly that even if you wanted to leave, you wouldn't be able to. It's honestly nice to see him like this, so calm and peaceful, quite the contrast to how he is when he's awake. The day to come was bound to be crazy and unpredictable - with Ariel, every day tended to be - so you enjoy this nice, quiet moment while it lasts.

Bill Shakespeare

Technically you don't wake up beside Bill, even though you're expecting to. When you open your eyes and don't see him there, you're confused, looking around the room, only to see him sitting at the little desk by the bed, writing away. When he notices you're awake, he looks over at you and smiles, setting his quill down. He tells you that he awoke feeling rather inspired, and had to get the words down before they left his mind. Bill asks if you want to hear what he's written, and what he reads to you is the most lovely, romantic poem you've ever heard in your life. Now that's over with, he happily gets back into bed to cuddle with you for a while.

William Agar

William honestly looks baffled when he wakes up beside you, and his expression ends up concerning you so much that you have to ask him if he's alright. He tells you that he is perfectly fine, it's just that part of him had believed that the night before had just been a dream and he would wake up alone. But, he admits - quietly, as his cheeks go bright red - that he's very glad that it wasn't a dream. You have to agree. He stays with you as long as he possibly can, before duty calls and he must go off to work.

Chris Pitt-Goddard

When you wake up, Chris is still fast asleep, snoring softly with his face buried in your chest. You can't help but giggle a bit at this, but you know that since it's a weekday, you have to wake him up. When you do, he whines, telling you he wants to stay in bed all day. You try to tell him that he has to go to work, but he retorts that it's P.E so it doesn't really matter, the kids will be fine without him. In the end, he convinces you to call off sick from work and stay with him, and you can't bring yourself to regret it.

Thomas Thorne

There’s pretty much nothing that Thomas loves more than cuddling with you. It just makes him happy to be so close to you, and know that you love him as much as he loves you. He’ll probably give you little kisses at random times, because he just has so much affection for you in his heart that it’s difficult to keep it inside. Thomas is more likely to want to cuddle with you face-to-face - it's easier to talk to you that way, and we all know how much he loves talking - though he likes spooning as well (whether he's the big or little spoon)

Christopher Payne

At first, Christopher pretends he doesn't like cuddling with you as much as he does (which is a lot). You know better, of course, because he's a pretty terrible liar. Once he stops pretending, it's near impossible to get him to stop trying to cuddle you, though of course he understands that you have other things you need to be doing and can't spend all of your time with him. He likes resting his head against your shoulder or your chest.

Jamie Winton

Jamie is quite shy about cuddling with you at first, but it doesn’t take him that long to warm up to it. He’s especially fond of it when he’s had a really crappy day at work, and snuggling up to you at night seems to make all of the stress go away. It really eases his anxieties when he wakes up and can feel you there in his arms, knowing that you haven’t just disappeared while he was sleeping.

Ariel Conroy

Ariel doesn’t have that much experience with being shown affection, so that first time you cuddle up to him he’s honestly shocked. Though, to his surprise, he finds that he actually quite likes it. His possessiveness towards you means he has a tendency to hold you really tightly, so good luck getting away from him (if you want to, that is).

Bill Shakespeare

Bill cuddles you a lot, especially when he feels like he's been neglecting you due to being busy with his plays. Though it's not just for your benefit, because he finds that he misses being with you a lot, and wants to spend most of his free time with you. He'll wrap you up in his arms, kiss you on the forehead and remind you of how much he loves you. He can be a bit handsy as well sometimes, but of course, he will always back off if you ask him to.

William Agar

William, being the sad repressed Victorian boy he is, is insanely touch-starved but mortified to do anything about it. He gets very nervous when you touch him lightly on the hand, let alone anything more than that. Every time you try and cuddle up to him he kind of freezes, and you worry that you're making him uncomfortable. As not to upset you, he ends up having to awkwardly explain that he doesn't dislike you trying to be close to him, he's just not used to it. With a lot of practice, he slowly becomes less anxious, and soon he will even ask you to cuddle on occasion.

Thomas: He has so, so many, but the ones he uses most often are "my darling", "my love/beloved", "my angel", and "my dear".

Jamie: Usually calls you "love", but occasionally "sweetheart" as well. (Side note: canonically he doesn't like using "babe" as a pet name but I think if you called him that he'd turn into a flustered mess)

Ariel: "Pet" most of the time, or sometimes "babe".

Bill: "Sweet angel", plus a bunch of very poetic names that I'm too unimaginative to think of.

William: "Dear" or "My dear Y/N".

Chris: Any food item, usually ones that aren't typically used as pet names. Occasionally will throw in a name that isn't food but just something in his line of sight (like when he called Bernie "my acorn".)

Thomas Thorne

Since you and Thomas already reside in Button House with the rest of the ghosts, you obviously don't need to move in together, but Thomas does make a big deal about "officially" moving into your room. Really, there's no need to be so dramatic about going from sleeping in your room most of the time to sleeping in your room all of the time, but he's just like that and you love him for it. You have to admit that it's nice to know that when you wake up, he'll always be there beside you.

Christopher Payne

Christopher worries a bit about you moving into Payne Manor, not because he doesn't want you around, but because of his dad. Though he's improved a lot, Mr. Payne is still kind of a jerk and Chris doesn't want him to scare you off. But it turns out that the house is big enough for you to not really have to interact with Mr. Payne that often, and you find that it's a lot easier to just live in Yonderland rather than have to travel from your realm every day to see Chris.

Jamie Winton

Jamie worries over asking you to move in with him for a while, so you know that it means a lot when he eventually does ask. He likes to keep things tidy so you don’t have to clean up after him, and he cooks really well and he’ll definitely make you breakfast in bed frequently.

One of the only downsides is the fact that Dave is also there, and he sometimes makes it difficult for the two of you to have any privacy, but otherwise, it's great.

Ariel Conroy

You end up moving in with Ariel at his suggestion, when you no longer feel safe at your own place. Strange things keep happening there: multiple break-ins that the police cannot find the culprit for, mysterious phone calls at all hours of the night, the eerie feeling that you’re being watched…

The whole thing has you absolutely terrified, so when Ariel offers to let you stay with him – he tells you that it’s not safe for you to be all on your own when someone is clearly after you – you immediately take him up on it. Each time you worry that you’re imposing on his hospitality he insists that you stay a little longer, until you’ve been there for so long you pretty much live there.

Ariel is glad he’s managed to convince you that you’re better off with him, the fact that his methods to make you realise it were morally questionable is irrelevant.

Bill Shakespeare

The house that you and Bill move into after getting married isn't exactly anything special, but he promises that it'll be able to be fixed up once he starts making more money from his plays. You don't mind so much, the house is nice enough and you're just glad that you get to live there with him, but Bill insists on making it a bit nicer for you. He just wants you to be happy.

William Agar

You and William move in together just after you get married. He's not exactly used to living with someone else, so he's pretty anxious in the beginning, but he slowly becomes more comfortable once you've been living together for a while.

He loves to see the little decorating touches that you make, and every time he looks at something that you picked out – whether it be furniture, art, or just some flowers that you thought would brighten up the place – he smiles because they make him think of you.

Thomas Thorne

Every so often, Thomas' wound begins to hurt, and that's when he needs your attention the most. There's not really that much you can do, but he insists that your presence makes the pain more bearable. So you're happy to stay by his side and hold him until the pain subsides, and he'll tell you what an angel you are for caring for him.

Christopher Payne

Christopher likes when you take care of him, but he also wants you to believe he's tougher than he is, so caring for him when he's sick or injured is a strange experience. He'll tell you that he's feeling perfectly fine, but then when you try and leave the room he'll beg you to come back and stay with him (but he's still fine, of course). Eventually, you can get him to admit that he is unwell, and he'll allow you to do what you need to do to get him better.

Jamie Winton

When he's sick, Jamie always tells you that he's fine and that you don't need to worry about him, so you have to essentially force him to stay in bed. Despite his insistence that he's not feeling that bad, he deeply appreciates the time and effort you put into caring for him and will make sure to tell you as such.

Ariel Conroy

Ariel really isn't used to being vulnerable, or being shown a lot of compassion, so when you start caring for him when he's sick or injured, he questions what you're doing at first. You tell him that you simply want to make sure he gets better, and it takes a while for that to sink in. Once he relaxes, he's a lot calmer and quieter than usual, enjoying the care and attention you're showing him.

Bill Shakespeare

Bill really likes it when you dote on him, so he will sometimes play up how bad he's feeling just so you'll give him more attention. He does it in a playful way though, you both know that he's not really at death's door, and you kind of tease him about how silly he's being. However, when he's not complaining, that's how you know that he's actually genuinely ill.

William Agar

William has a habit of getting himself into bad situations, so you find yourself having to clean up cuts and bruises pretty frequently. He always looks at you with the sweetest, most loving eyes as you tend to his injuries, and you can't bring yourself to scold him for not being more careful.
