"was there anything in particular you wanted to check out first?" nianqing asked, staying close to jun wu. if asked he could easily say it was the sake of tradition, and not because he was worried the man would wander into someone who recognized him and was willing to immediately start a fight despite the festivities. "if you want to dance i'll do my best, but i was thinking you might like some food or a drink first before that area gets particularly crowded." and he was certainly feeling like he could use a drink. having a small one to get through the night couldn't hurt that much.
