thinking about how the first time we are introduced to Jang Hyun's absolutely complex and extremely layered daddy issues is when he is having a very Traumatic Flashback in Neunggun-ri and only Ryang Eum's voice is what pulls him out of it. thinking about how the next time they bring that back it launches him into post-traumatic amnesia (since the flashback was brought on by the head injury in the torture chambers) and the only thing that pulls him out of that is remembering Gil Chae, and her voice now, and everything that had happened between them. thinking about how Gil Chae is constantly shown as being able to touch and hold him, and how she confesses while he still does not have his memories that she wishes they could always live a simple life like this. thinking about how the closest Ryang Eum got to that was when he showed up to take him away to a safe place, before he woke, so the search party would not find him, and they were practically skin to skin, slumped over his shoulder. just thinking thoughts today
