Final Alola post! Starting with EP125 and controling myself to not go on a tangent over how much I ADORE ASH WITH YOUNGER KIDS AND HOW CUTE HE IS WHEN HE TRIES ACTING ALL MATURE 😭😭😭 to focus on his talk about pokemon gyms and leagues!

No seriously the way he changes subject here always gets me. Despite everything, talking about that stuff is still hurtful and something he rather avoid.

Now, onto the league.

I know everybody hates Ash vs Hau, but man, that battle has some really good moments. Like the face he makes when he thought he had lost at the best 8. AGAIN!

look, that battle is far from the best, but what it shows us about Ash?? PERFECTION!

How he apologizes to Hau afterwards when the battle continues. How he knows the feel of having the win taken on the last second.

And Hau's reaction after it's all said and done and how he breaks down after Hala compliments him anyway.

How despite Ash doing this for SO LONG no one really told him that. And how that's what hurts the most. When you keep going and going and going but is hard to see the progress. How sometimes you just want someone to aknowledge your hard work.

And those feelings are paralleled in plenty of the battles in this league!

How Mallow vs Lana was all about Mallow doing her best till the very end despite being robbed losing to Lana and how a loss does hurt! Despite it being fun and with a close friend and doing your all, it still hurts. Gladion vs Lillie and Kiawe vs Sophocles too having the same vibes. Even Jessie and James battle fits the theme, with Jessie expecting a win and losing when James battled with full connection with his pokemon.

And then we have Guzma. Oh Guzma

Guzma who tried again and again, all to fail in the end. Just like Ash.

Guzma who thought he was unbeatable until it came crashing down on him. Guzma who lost hope and hid his fears behind a strong façade. Like Ash did in Kalos.

Guzma who took too long to learn to have fun and lost because of that. While Ash got the chance to re-learn that in Alola.

Their parallels... It means everything to me. To use Guzma to tell the story Ash has been living for 20 years and have the catharsis for both be Ash's win in Alola. I love it. I really do.

and we end all with this. His disbelief after beating Gladion will always be my favorite moment of the Alola league.

people love to bitch on BW, but gosh, does it set up Ash's need to get strong in Kalos (to a fault) nicely. Like, there's plenty of moments we can see that the Cameron loss did affect him.

Is interesting how you can even see the essence of "Kalos Ash" in those key moments.

I really wish people tried to understand what BW symbolizes for Ash's growth cause man, I really enjoy the arc he goes throught post DP

Hi! First questions of the year woooo! /o/ What's your take on vampires not being able to sleep? You think they should be able to? (I have mixed thoughts about it bc I think sleep is very necessary but it wouldn't be the same for them bc they don't tire physically yet it would do them good to rest the mind imo) Also I have this question living rent free in my mind since last year (ha im so funny :p) Regarding mates and stuff I am not sure if vampires can tell who their mate is by looking into their eyes it's canon or if it's just somethign the fandom made up in fics and stuff. BUT in the case of it being how it works in canon how could Irina not tell Laurent wasn't her mate? Correct me if I am wrong but I believe in canon theyw ere supposed to be mates but then yk they weren't. At least I think they weren't bc to me is obvs Laurent was using her to get info on the Cullens etc, if she was her mate he wouldn't go help victoria when he found his literal soulmate, right? In any case in the majority of fics in which Irina doesn't die (thank god for fanfics) is common to make it like he was not her mate but I cannot for the life of me understand how she could not tell if vampires KNOW their mate by looking into their eyes. I'm not blaming her ofc, she's spent a thousand years waiting for her mate so poor bby yk to be played like that but I find it kinda weird? Bc she truly thought he was her mate otherwise she wouldn't have done the things she did in BD2 or would be all angry at bella in BD1.. ANYWAY I hope it makes sense, thanks <3

Okay so, the short answer: I love it.

The long(er) answer:

I think not being able to sleep is part of what makes them so fascinating. Like, imagine how damn productive you would be if you had an extra 6-8 hours to get stuff done every day.

...Aight, real talk: I think it's sexy af.

Like, vampires are literal predators, and the fact they don't sleep only adds to that feeling of danger. I mean, ofc they won't spend the entire night hunting (I think?), especially considering they only need to hunt like...every few weeks or smt? But it's just the fact they're out (or in) doing...something while everyone else is asleep that's just so fascinating (and sexy) to me. Like, AKSFJSAKLFN-

Listen-

Sleep is something so vital for pretty much any living creature, and the fact (twilight) vampires have no need for it just shows how superior and otherwordly they are.

...I dunno how else to explain my fascination. 🥲

BUT-

I agree that resting the mind is smt that any creature requires at SOME point. And I kinda wanna believe that, sometimes, vampires just lay or stand somewhere (makes no difference to them) and just...close their eyes. Recharge their mental battery. Go into standby, so to speak.

As for the question regarding mates-

Not that canon matters (much) anyway, but I don't think vampires finding their mate à la imprinting is actually canon. But even if it was-

I don't really like the concept because I think it's just boring and lazy and too easy, which is also why I don't include it in any of my writing. Like, I mentioned way back that the reason why The Sisters and MC won't have mating bonds is because I don't want our unhinged Denalis being able to use this as an excuse for their deeds like "ye we kinda uprooted your entire life but it's meant to be so it's kinda alright, right??"

(Spoiler: Tanya's probs gonna try anyway. 😏)

...Granted, not every vampire who meets their "mate" ends up kidnapping them, lol. But like, such a bond essentially "forces" you into loving someone, and that's really off-putting to me. I'm someone who values the journey, y'know what I'm saying? I need drama and spice and a whole lot of working for it. 🫠

Bonding with someone via eye contact is something the wolves have because their instincts basically find them the perfect match to have strong and healthy babies with (or so I've read once), but vampires don't have that need. I mean-

Ofc there's ppl you just click with, right? Then there's ppl you really click with. I'm not saying that kind of connection doesn't exist, but it's not something that suddenly turns your whole axis like it does with the wolves' imprinting thing.

...Then again, I've read once that choosing a partner based on "breeding success" is something that does happen, albeit not consciously. It's like your body just knows who's gonna be a suitable baby daddy/mommy, lol. The power of evolutionary "drives"... 😏

ANYWAY-

My point is:

In my stories (feral or not), imprinting like the wolves have doesn't exist for vampires. You either click or you don't (just like for us humans). However-

I do think that vampires feel things a lot more fiercely than humans. Like, when you live for an eternity, there's gotta be a longing for someone to share it with. The longer you go without, the stronger that longing becomes. All your senses are attuned to finding yourself that perfect match, so it's a lot easier for vampires than it is for us humans to find out whether someone is suitable or not.

Now, to get to the last point(s):

Bc she truly thought he was her mate otherwise she wouldn't have done the things she did in BD2 or would be all angry at bella in BD1

She wasn't actually angry at Bella. She was furious at the Cullens for inviting one of the wolves (Seth) because she believed them to have killed Laurent wrongfully. She didn't believe Edward when he said Laurent was trying to kill Bella first, so she likely felt betrayed by them for inviting the very thing that brutally slaughtered her "mate" (even though it wasn't Seth who did it, but seeing him made her relive that trauma).

The things Irina did in BD2 had nothing to do with Laurent, either. Not really. She went to visit the Cullens to make amends for how she behaved at the wedding, and just for everything that happened after Laurent (denying the Cullens their help in the fight against Victoria & her army because they wouldn't allow Irina to kill one of the wolves to avenge Laurent). But then she spotted CGI Kid (aka Renesmée) and ran for the hills (I don't blame her) because she thought the Cullens created an immortal child. And we all know how that went for her and her family-

So ye, everything that went down in BD2 was solely thanks to CGI Kid's existence.

Which makes me hate her (CGI, not Irina) even more.

Honestly, every damn plot would've been better and more engaging than CGI Kid.

thinking abt how sweetheart represents sunny’s struggle with figuring out how to love himself after what happened with mari

she struggles with love and tries to marry herself and has the slime girls create suitors for her in her image but she doesn’t like any of them

meanwhile an entire race of plant creatures who love tofu(basil’s favorite food) absolutely adore her, and she takes it for granted, and even rejects them as suitors

she’s even portrayed as a very selfish, obnoxious, self-obsessed person which encourages the audience to think she deserves all her bad luck in love, omori’s friends even think so too

im not bringing this up to be a sweetheart apologist btw, she sucks(and i do i love her for it but that’s besides the point) and she does kinda deserve what she got, but the point is that she may also represent sunny’s struggle with not just loving himself but also accepting love from others and how sunny sees himself in general

there’s a lot of parallels between sunny and sweetheart, and some of the characters associated with sweetheart, most notably the sprout moles and rococo, seem to be representations of the people sunny knows(don’t ask me abt capt spaceboy, i know he’s important when it comes to sweetheart and he probs has some symbolism that relates to this but i haven’t played the omori route yet so i don’t have the full picture)

i wont go too in depth because this kinda just stream of consciousness but i’ll probably make a proper sweetheart analysis after i play the omori route so i can add stuff abt capt spaceboy

so for now, here’s how sweetheart’s ‘journey’ i guess parallels sunny and how his life has gone up until the present day

sweetheart grew up in a small town with a loving family(sunny and his friends, one day rococo shows up and her family takes him in(basil becoming part of the friend group)

sweetheart and rococo fall in love(sunny + basil becoming best friends)

after an unspecified amount of time, sweetheart leaves her family behind and moves to a giant castle to become a princess, then at some point she also abandons rococo(sunny retreats into headspace and stops talking to his friends)

sweetheart is now a celebrity, with lots of adoring fans, but she takes them for granted(sunny coming out of his house, his friends and a lot of the people in town are nice to him and appreciative when he helps them out, but he still hasn’t let go of his self loathing)

that last one is tenuous at best but whatever, like i said this is stream of consciousness and i’ll probs turn this into a real analysis later on

also i find it interesting that sweetheart abandoning rococo happens after she’s already moved into the castle

maybe sunny tried to only keep in contact with basil but couldn’t do it and had to abandon him like the rest of his friends? hmmm

ok so... where do i even begin to talk about how much of a travesty this versions of great expectations is?!?

(btw i have written like a 7000+ word long essay complaining about it which i may edit and post at some point but for now i'll focus on the finale lol)

ok so first of all (spoilers btw not that anyone following me losing my mind of this series even cares but... this is major spoilers for the finale lol) pip inexplicably marries biddy lol... and the whole message they're obviously going with (that's been literally shoved down our throats for the entire run time of the show) is that pip is better off in a simple life than the complicated and unrewarding life of being a 'gentleman'... so he marries biddy, turns down estella (whose character randomly changes right near the end like ??? huh ??) and that's just... that's it lol...

pip has like a few months (it's unclear how long he's in london for but it can't be that long) in london where he becomes addicted to drugs & alcohol and depressed, and then returns to the forge to become a blacksmith and marry biddy (not before magwitch and compeyson die though... more on that in a mo lol) and like ?? that's it lol... because pip learned that money is bad actually and it's better to be poor or something and like... in any other situation, i wouldnt even mind this as an ending lol

do i think it's unnecessarily simplifying themes within dickens' original story? yes. do i also think that there was a way to go about this that felt more nuanced and cleverly crafted? double yes! but would i have enjoyed it IF it had been an original drama? also, YES! the issue is that this is pretending to be a version of great expectations when it clearly just... it's not lol!

ok anyway here are a few funny/dumb things from the finale that i can remember:

pip says something like 'joe's knees have left him' in reference to joe not being well enough to tend the forge and me and my mum just started laughing at the image of joe's knees independently running away from him lol

'you get him to come outside, i'll blow him to hell' - line from magwitch about compeyson which felt kinda gay ngl... like if this was a better drama i would be ALL about the cat and mouse dynamic of these two... like they chase all around australia to find each other, constantly either pointing a gun at and/or desperately punching each other like the fanfic writes itsELF (they also died lying next to each other with their hands next to each other hashtag love wins lol)

they had miss havisham change her clothes which like... completely defeats the point of her character (she also has a Girlboss moment when she shoots compeyson and then says a witty one liner that could rival a marvel movie lol) & it's only in this final episode we get any kind of emotion from her that isn't... evil cackling man-hating witch lol

(also she doesnt die in a fire rip... well... not rip... lol)

she also makes out w/ compeyson and then they have an altercation and she ends up setting fire to the bed, and she comes down and is like (to pip and estella) he's upstairs and has a gun! but at no point mentions that there's a fucking FIRE in the house lol honestly the funniest fucking thing ever lol

estella's character is just bizarre lol... i thought the ENTIRE point of this version was trying to give her agency, but they make her just be exactly like the book version in the end and i just ??? what was the point in having her refuse drummle (and herbert) if u were just gonna go the same thing to pip idkidkidk...

also jaggers spent the entire time forcing pip to do shit to get by in london including losing all his money, introducing him to opium and death and deceitfulness etc, but in the end when pip's like 'oh i'm gonna b a blacksmith after all' he's like 'k cool' lol... like ?? what was the POINT of the last 4 and a half episodes?!?

herbert wasnt even in this episode which was honestly a godsend lol.. and wemmick was there for a few mins (and may have been there at the end but honestly i cant be bothered to go back and check lol) and is there to offer comfort to pip but pip lashes out lol

my biggest problem which i have mentioned time and time again is that pip is such a twat of a character lol... he's miserable the entire time regardless of who he's talking to, he barely talks to anyone and when he does he makes the most bizarre remarks ever lol, he never really apologises to joe for being a complete dick to him... ultimately he's unlikeable and no disrespect to the actor (and i mostly blame the script tbf) but he just comes across as pathetic and gormless, and not in a poor little meow meow way lol

anyway i've rambled enough here lol... this series has honestly broken me... i am a broken man

only good thing is that it's reminded me how much i love the original story and characters lol!

Kind of standard and maybe obvious answer but why Zhou Yu seems to be your favorite?

I would say this prob has some mixed-in sentimental values rather than a pure judgement of Zhou Yu's charisma and abilities (though he was also good at those things).

Zhou Yu was one of the first characters from 3k I knew about. Romance, folklore, games etc. And maybe because of Chibi, games and pop media adaptations always tend to show him with some form of fire abilities/knowledge, which to the young me back then was pretty cool --- fire controlling and stuff. Add to that the strong bond he had with Sun Ce, and all the awesome tales that I came to know after reading up more about him, he eventually stood out to be someone I quite liked in my teenage years.

Now, I'm older and quite beyond the pick-a-favourite and die-on-this-hill phase (not that there is necessarily anything inherently wrong with it), and I have come to know and like more people over the years -- Some others are also really fascinating, eg. Cao Pi that I recently talked about. But I guess Zhou Yu is still kinda special in the sense that it pretty much 'followed' me in my humble journey into Chinese history and the 3k, and perhaps invoke some kind of nostalgia for younger days too.

Steps for being a parent to enforce on kids EQUALLY: 

I’ll add more later but so far:

I’ll praise them for good behavior or grades etc but scold or punish or whatever for inappropriate behavior or grades (unless it’s a C or something then I’ll just help but C’s are NOT the end of the world. Also if they’re autistic or have any other mental disability then the behavior is a different story)

If my children ever have trauma no one’s trauma will be invalidated compared to others if they’re both or all traumatized which I’ll try to prevent but shit happens like CSA and stuff 

I’ll never doubt them when they come out and be with them on their gender/sexuality discovery journey 

Taking devices and stuff away no matter the age as long as 10+ (cos that’s when they get devices that aren’t tv)

Taking devices away (tablets or tv) and no sleepovers/school clubs/events or going to friends houses for some amount of time depending on their crime for 11-12 

For 13-15 id take away devices like phones computers tablets tv allat and also ground them from going out or calling anyone and stuff obvi and no school events or clubs or anything including sports and stuff like drama club plays etc it’s their fault the teams suffering without them (or maybe doing better? I don’t know)

For 16-17 the above and for 17 id lecture them but stronger than i obviously would with younger kids and also not let them see their gf/bf/lover

Curfew from 11-13: 5:00-6:00pm (maybe 6:30 depends on child maturity)

Curfew for 14-15: 8:00pm depending on the season and when it gets dark (if winter and/or it gets dark earlier than probably like 6-7 pm, 7:20 at latest)

Curfew for 16-late 16 or 17: 9pm or 9:30-10pm depending on who they’re with and where and when and allat stuff (prob not 17 but yk maturity)

Curfew to 17+: idc i PROBABLY trust them mk? But sometimes there’s THAT kid yk who i mean 

R rated shows for 17 or maybe 16+

X rated shows for 18+ obvi

NR/unrated shows I’d have to watch first cos those can get weird/racy/etc

TV-14 for 13+ but maybe just 12 or 11 depending on the show 

PG-13 for 12+ and maybe just 11 but like i said it depends on what it is

PG shows/movies for like 10 or 9+ but it depends on the show/movie

TV-Y7 is for like 6-7+

Lights out and devices off and preparing to sleep for 10 and younger (which like i said b4 would be just tv..) is 8:15 pm, 8:30 at the latest FOR SURE

for 11-12 is 8:45-9:15 pm

for 13-14 it’s 9:30-10:15 pm (maybe an all nighter for hw or something if truly needed)

For 15-16 it’s 10:15 pm-12:00 am because sometimes you need to pull an all nighter for assignments

17+ idc just get sleep and don’t be on your screens too long mk??

When I expect my child to get a car is at the latest 17 but I understand shit happens

id mostly like to keep my baby off the road if they’re really allat terrible at driving and by the time they’re 17 if they’ont got a vehicle they can travel with they best not expect my flat ass to be pulling up

is my Pokémon Sw/Sh protag. As in, she is currently going through the main campaign right now. Yes it is like the normal campaign but with a different oc. So like no spoilers lol. She's also a kid so no nasty stuff about her please. She's also not from Galar and has some lore, but we'll get to that later in her journey.

i just wanted to say thank you so much for all of your writing!!

the past month has been really really rough for me and the only thing thats gotten me through is reading your work.... i ummm might actually have read through every single work you have on ao3 😅 the way you write is just incredible, i love the personal touch added to everything you write.

its funny because i think you truly excel at writing novels with detailed lore and backstories but my favourites are the cute domestic ones where theyre just neighbours or roommates or whatever. the way you write apartment living is so obviously drawn for your own real perspective in the best way possible and feels so real that i couldnt help but constantly agree with everything you were saying.

your dialog is so natural and fluid i often forget im reading tbh and you never write perfect people, theyre always realistic and fucked up and flawed and amazing. i always believe the world you write around them, and i constantly found myself at the edge of my seat at 5am desperate to know how the fuck they would fix everything.

i appreciate that you take the time to add the trigger warnings in the notes of each chapter, i always felt like i was prepared for what was ahead, or if something was too heavy before going in so i could walk away or go to sleep until i was slightly more ready.

i have maybe accidentally left a few essays in the comments of some of your fics already but i just wanted to let you know at the end of my journey (for now until you write more because frankly im obsessed and will probs go reread something after this just to fill the void) how much your writing has meant to me <3 thank you so much i cant imagine the amount of time, effort and love goes into writing so many full-length novels for free in such a short time span <3

I really had a great time reading this and I definitely think that you should check it out ahhah.

Persona 3 Definitive Ideas

A compilation on things they could add to a definitive edition of Persona 3 (either via remake or remaster). If it starts with bold it’s a main point and starting with an italics is a man subpoint (unless it’s the gameplay mechanic side aka the first point, that one’s subsection gets it’s own little bolded section). Assume Journey for most of it, I tried to mention when I was talking about The Answer by itself. 

Edit: I started this a few months ago, decided to just re-read it and.....I cant think of anything else I want to add to it (probs will after I publish it, I’ve made this list like 1000 times now over and over).  

Edit 2: (lol found my old 2015 ver I made, it’s a lot smaller but still might be fun to look at and compare)

Now, in no particular order except to make it flow the best (aka it’s not a ranking on what needs to be in there at the top, it’s just one leads into the other and helps it stay organized...aka I want all of these):

Gameplay fighting Mechanic:

An option to have FES tactics or P3P party control and have it tailored to that balanced. “Silly the game still has the tactics setting in P3P!” Yeah I know, it’s even there in P4/G and P5!” (RIP to fellow fans who went two dungeons plus in P4 with your chars on “act freely” u_u I know your pain). But no, FES and P3P’s tactics aren’t balanced the same, tbh P3P party control isn’t 100% balanced as it could be. So it’d be an option menu setting, and by changing it (options being: “Tactics Only” and “Party Control option”, it’ll change the AI of the enemies. You can still do tactics in Party Control, but it won’t be balanced the same way as Tactics Only.

Give both MC’s the ability to wield multiple weapons again. Be it in Tactics Only mode or in general.

Make Fusions cost SP again: While I do think the items are a novel idea, maybe replace them with a diff special spell that’s not as powerful as a fusion spell. 

Add more fusion Spells for MC

Let teammates do fusion spells too: Don’t give me “team attack” BS whatever you called the P4G ones, those are fusion spells. Give me teammate fusion spells damnit! (I saw the Aki/Mitsu fusion spell with the Pachinko machine Atlus, you can hide it from me!)

More ways to level up stats and gain SL points. We can do this a few different ways:

Add dialogue in places that’ll boost stat points. This is something P4 had ABUNDANCE of and it was really fun. P5 nerf’d it sadly. This should be easy since they could just add it to existing dialogue (ex: getting all of Yukari’s Answers to the Fuuka rumor correct raises knowledge, or picking a flirty option when you first meet Aigis gives you an increase to “charm”

Making/brining lunch and having it together, eating at the cafe together, same for dinner, or having karaoke night, introduce a hot spring/communal bath area, invite to movies (outside the movie week thing), or do a fortune/prayer that just costs money but not time (or have it available at night since there’s a lot of dead space at night). You know in P4/5 stuff. 

Add more (fluff/filler/fun) events. Now that we’ve solved the tight sched issue out of the way as seen above), now we can add more bonding moments. Optional and mandatory (tho I’d prefer most be option, unless the mandatory ones don’t take a time block away).

Maybe stuff that was Anime (or manga) exclusive. ex: P3 2nd movie has Makoto hanging with Shinji/Ken/Aigis for the summer festival (well I guess in this case, they just add a new unlockable event for that existing bigger event)

Get rid of certain mandatory events: There is really only like...one event I can think of, and it’s Mitsuru’s mandatory study/summer school event (the other would be a sports team event, but we could tweak it to giving you something additional in return). It’s a waste of time, esp if you’ve already maxed your knowledge (ESP on NG+). If the player has been getting top rank on exams and/or has max knowledge up to that point, we should be excluded. 

Incorporate the Phone games. Tied to the “add more events,” but it doesn’t exactly mean that we’ll have them incorporated into the story’s events (aka stopping the story flow during the Yakushima trip to incorporate Persona 3 EM). Luckily, both FES/P3P/P4G introduced ideas we can use to be able to access this content without breaking the story’s flow. We can (bolded games are the more meaty ones we’d probably want):

1) Pull an FES where it’s a separate game mode ala The Journey vs The Answer. (games that would fit this: Aigis’ First Mission and P3 EM)

2) Pull a P3P where it’s a new door in the Vision Quest Room....or just add another door to Tartarus like Vision Quest/Monad Depths. (games that would fit this: Persona 3 EM)

3) Pull a P4G: it’s a mode you can access within your playfile once you’ve unlocked it (aka the little trivia game) (Games that would fit this: P3 Escape, P3 The Night Before, QIX, Chaining Soul, Illust Puzzle, P3 CR/Pachinko exclusive events)

Add a Female Version of the Answer. Self explanatory. Considering this game is based heavily on a “butterfly effect,” and while it does have a lot of differences, The Answer is def the best place to showcase some of the BIGGER changes this effect has. Aka, it’s not a 1:1 same thing as the male’s and thus has it’s own merit of existing. Hell, Atlus could even use it to tease future titles. XP

Updates to the Answer in general: 

Add a goddamn compendium!

NG+

Difficulty setting (”Boo Silly! You just want it easier!” Ok but what if they could make it harder too? Ah got you now.)

A new unique persona or two (prime Personas? unlocked after seeing their past? special Athena fusable on NG+) (*see more on prime personas below in the “new Personas” portion)

Vision Quest (I’m a fan of Vision Quest and other fun stuff like the VR Challenges in P5R...but the setting is def the Vision quest, you can add P5R challenges type stuff in there)

Add more SLs to both Male and Female. This doesn’t exactly mean new characters. It can be.....

Allowing them to SL with each other’s exclusive SL’s. You can think of it something like....What P4 did with Sun and Strength, you have a choice. Basically, male can SL with people that were originally FeMC exclusive and vice versa. The caveat is it might be harder to start that other SL. (ex: Hamu has to go to a store to buy a gaming station and the game to SL with Toriumi, and it has a fairly steep financial barrier so it might be better for her to go with Saori). I would also say maybe Rio/Saori aren’t......date-able for reasons in their SL, and they probs act differently compared to their FeMC!Side counterparts (cause they are talking to a boy). Regardless, we see a different side to these characters so it’d make it worth wild to SL them on both sides. But most importantly, it means MaleMC can SL with Junpei/Aki/Ken/Shinji/Ryoji! Maybe he can’t save Shinji (that’s the beauty of the butterfly effect) but you can still see a new side of him and have different SL compared to the FeMC!

New chars to SL: A Fem!Pharos/Fem!Ryoji (always found it weird that Pharos/Ryo looked the same on both sides, it be a choice on the FeMC’s side like with Liz/Theo....like in the title screen when you select her the game could be like “you feel a strange energy within you, does it feel more feminineor more masculine?” and there we go). It’s a what if let me vibe!

A pen pal (or it can be a new online friend tbh) who’s arcana is “Fool 22,” was originally going to be a Your Name/super natural pen pal thing but maybe instead it’s the non SEES leader version of the MC you didn’t choose. Half I want some variation of the MCs to interact but also......setting up future sequels maybe? 8U

Edit (see I knew I’d forget something): SL with Strega. Similar to Fool 22 and Male!Hermit, an online friend. Strega members deserve to be more fleshed out. Plus iirc P3P artbook made blogs for all the chars, so an online friend thing could really work.

New Romances: Mainly for FeMC, her well is dry for stable romances (the only two who stick around the entire time with additional events is Aki and Ken....Ken....KEN! Whyyy???) Just let Hidehiko be optional, or give us another char, or Mamoru. MC is swimming in romance options, and for reasons I don’t think he’d be able to romance Rio/Saori (one likes his friend, the other is hella gay for FeMC but the possibility is there for Saori at least, P3 is def the ‘stan the bisexuals” the game). Not against more romance options for MaleMC, but I think we can all agree FeMC is hurting bad. ;w;

Friend Routes for the MaleMC: self explanatory. “But I liked the force romances, I don’t want to friend them.” Ok strange, strange straw man I’ve made up, but consider....more content! Just in general! And you can choose not to! :D If you still wanna be a gigolo then more power to you!

More cheating route repercussions. Add what was in Vanilla/FES back in (P3P doesn’t really have it/removed a lot of it). Bring the jealousy mechanic back...BUT ONLY for romance flagged routes (otherwise it doesn’t exist, we don’t need “Kenji’s sad you haven’t hung out in like 3 months BS). Add a Christmas event too ....maybe Valentines day (they may have “forgotten” a lot of things, but the convos when you say “bye” to the SLs show you dated them so.... 8U I’d say it’s possible).

Add a few more romantic SL events for Aigis:  You have no additional spend time option with her. No Christmas event. It’s mostly the former, but just adding another extra event would be nice (I know the narrative and story importance favors her heavily as a romance option, and I’m not complaining, but I’d like.....to have the ability to reciprocate her more).

More SL events: Think the fun extra/optional dialogues you get if you talk to an SL at night in P4G. Obvie you’ll get points for hanging out with them.

More optional run-in events: Not really relating to SLs. Example, when you go shopping with Dojima in P4G and you overhear other SLs talking to each other (such as Yukiko/Kanji and if she should dye her hair)

New Personas: I’d say more relating to NYX, maybe only the male can unlock certain ones and vice versa (but they can both be saved in the compendium and thus the other can use them on NG+, similar to the dual Orpheus’)

Prime Personas for party members: instead of 3rd tier personas (cause due to how P3 chars get their 2nd tiers it will cause problems for future entries, at least we can BS reason and say that “prime is a temporary change” or some BS), instead they’d get prime personas that are tied to SL stuff rather than their overall main resolve. They’ll get a prime persona with one new special ability. Prime can evolve into prime so it’s possible to miss seeing a normal 2nd tier or never seeing a prime first tier. Here’s an example

Junpei (if you are fast enough to max him before his story roadblock and thus before his story evolution): Hermes->Hermes Prime-> Trismegistus Prime.

Aigis (can’t be maxed before evolution): Palladion->Athena->Athena prime (or call it Pallas Athena, or you can save Pallas for The Answer)

P5/R’s Picaro Persona versions (purely cause they made the models kldsj;fa)

NAME  :   Robert Edward Orville Speedwagon

NICKNAME  :  Boss, aniki, “bastard!”/"that son of a bitch!” (usually from rival gang members, so the insult varies sometimes lol), Rob (used by a few friends), derivatives of his last name −Speebs, Speeds, Speeb, Speedy, etc− but these he will only accept them from certain people, otherwise he will do his best not to cringe on the spot or will do it inwardly. Uncle Speedy and etc later on (as in once George and the rest of the children come into his life, more specifically~).

AGE  :   25 in the main verse (may vary depending on the verse)

KNOWN LANGUAGES :   English is his first language. Conversational Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, German and some more. Some conversational Mandarin Chinese as well (this one thanks to Li −canonly known as Kenpo, his Ogre Street friend−) and bits of Irish (this one thanks to Tattoo, his other Ogre Street friend). He can read and understand some Japanese (kana and some okurigana/kanji) but can’t really speak or write it. Same case for some other languages that he can also recognize and more or less understand bits of them but can’t really speak them. As you probably guessed, he’s learned most of these through his many journeys around the world.

SECRETS  :  All of the stuff in regards to the stone mask and all the events and incidents that came out from that (it was stated that the only ones who know everything about it from start to end are Jonathan and Speedwagon, the others who might know a great deal of it would be Straizo and Master Tonpety). He also tries to keep a low profile in regards to his homosexuality whenever he’s out of the slums to save himself some trouble due to the stigma at the time and the potential legal consequences, going only for the gay codes of the time (long hair, cleanly shaven face, colorful accessories, etc) so I guess that could count? Other than that, and in the verses that it applies, his stand mayhaps?? That’s what allows him to leap through timelines in the time travel verses (it possesses other abilities and skills but, since Robert doesn’t even know about his stand’s existence yet, he hasn’t trained with it and thus he doesn’t know about any of it’s abilities, not even about the time travel oof).

BUILD :     scrawny   /   bony   /   slender   /   fit   /   athletic   /   curvy   /   herculean   /  pudgy  /   average   .

HEIGHT  :   5’11”, close to the 6’ mark (181 cms)

SCARS   /   BIRTHMARKS  :    The most recognizable one is the scar marring the left side of his face (going from the top of his nose to his jaw), but he has plenty more scattered all over his body, some more visible than others, some larger than others. Most of them come from fights and his general criminal lifestyle, some of them even come from some of the torture sessions he’s endured as part of that (so it isn’t surprising that they were either caused by knives, gunshots, burns, shards of glass and etc). Most of his scars are located on his chest and arms, some more on his hands/wrists and fingers (hands/wrists and fingers mainly from when he was learning to use his buzzsaw hat), though he has a few more on his legs/thighs, lower abdomen, and a couple more on his back. In the main verse (usually set in the late stages of PB), he will have a few more from the events in PB −burn scars on his hands from the fire at the Joestar mansion, one on his shoulder from the attack he received from Jack the Ripper, an ice burn across his abdomen from thawing Zeppeli’s arm, and a couple more and not so visible ones on his arms from minor injuries (cuts) he got while fighting and fending off zombies−. Most of the “PB scars” aren’t too visible thanks to Jonathan (he used his hamon to heal Speedwagon’s injuries shortly after).

ABILITIES   /   POWERS  :  He’s able to tell an evil person from a good one by their smell alone. He’s a resilient man and quite a strong one, too (stronger than the average guy, as he was shown killing zombies using his brute force only and a sledgehammer). He's good at hand to hand combat, he’s also good at using knives and guns, and at wrecking shit with a sledgehammer. I also hc that he's capable of creating veeeeeery small amounts of hamon (this as a result of Zepp's "accidental" slip) if he really puts his mind into it. Due to his current limitations with it, his hamon can’t be used for fighting, but it does enhance his healing process, making it slightly faster than that of an average human (with some proper training, chances are he might be able to do more with it, tho). His stand, in the verses where he has it, can perform time travel, which happens at random at first (he gradually gains control on his stand once he learns about it and starts training with it). Due to stands being a reflection of sorts of their user and their fighting spirit, and as an extension of Robert’s own hamon healing abilities, his stand also possesses healing abilities that can be used both on himself and on others, though this requires some training prior, as the healing relies entirely on Speedwagon’s own life force and can be fatal for him if used carelessly at first (once properly trained, it won’t represent a real danger for him to use). Much like Robert himself, his stand is also capable of packing some punches and causing serious damage on it’s opponent despite his stand being more of a “support” stand rather than a fully combat based one.

RESTRICTIONS  :  He's mostly a regular human in the main verse, so he’s at a great disadvantage against stronger supernatural beings such as vampires and pillarmen, for example. As stated above, the amounts of hamon he can currently create are small and, thus are difficult −almost impossible− to use for combat (again, this can change if he gets some proper training). His lack of knowledge on his stand’s existence can also count as a restriction for the time being, as he doesn’t know about it or it’s abilities and, thus, can’t use it at his will for now (it operates mostly in an “unconscious” level at first, usually after getting triggered). He also tends to wear his heart in his sleeve when it comes to the few people he truly holds dear and considers special to him, so that can be used against him if he’s not careful enough.

—— Likes / Scents! ♡

FOOD  :    He isn’t really picky with food since he grew up in absolute poverty and sometimes went for days without a single bite of food or eating stale (sometimes even moldy) food so like… he’s cool with pretty much anything nowadays. He’s also an adventurous man, so he’s always open to trying new and even “exotic” stuff. Other than that, pastries are one of his top fave things ever (creamy ones mainly but not exclusively).

DRINK  :   Tea −citrusy/fresh types mainly like lemongrass, same with berry teas−. He doesn’t mind sweeter teas but, since he usually has them with the pastries, he prefers something more “sour” to balance things out. He also likes coffee, liking it strong, kind of sweet, and hot (just how he likes his men lol). As for alcoholic drinks, he’s all for beer and gin. He also enjoys some of the sweeter ‘posh’ wines Jonathan normally has at his home.

PIZZA TOPPING  :  As far as I know, pizza toppings weren’t as creative and “crazy” in the 19th century as they have been over the last few decades, so he’s only used to more ‘traditional’ stuff like variants of Pizza Margherita, for example. However, in the time travel verses/modern!AUs he will definitely try all kinds of pizza toppings (yes, this includes pineapple pizza as well as entirely sweet pizza toppings and so on) and actually likes some of them.

COLOUR  :    Purple (shades like those of his waistcoats i.e.), pink, greeeeeeenvert, black.

MUSIC GENRE  :    More than a genre itself, he enjoys and appreciates music that can make him feel something. Toss some pub songs there for obvious reasons lol.

BOOK GENRE  :     General fiction mostly. He also enjoys reading some romance novels every now and then whenever he gets the chance to get his hands on a gay romance one, either featuring two males or two females (he doesn’t find the appeal in “traditional” ones for a variety of reasons).

MOVIE GENRE  :    Non-applicable in the main verse. Time travel verses −if he even gets the chance to watch a movie− and even in a modern!AU, his go to genres would probs be similar to his book genres, lol, just add some comedy there but like, not the ‘cheapest’ and cringey kind of comedy.

SEASON  :     Autumn and Winter (harsh winters are a pain in the ass in Ogre Street, but he can handle them fairly well overall)

CURSE WORD :   Fuck / Shit / Bloody and variants of it (like Bloody Hell) / Arsehole / Wanker / Damnit / Bollocks, Ballocks and all of it’s variants / Bastard / Motherfucker / Zounderkite (victorian for “idiot” but with even harsher and ruder connotations than just using “idiot” lol) / Beardsplitter (one of the victorian words for “penis” xd). There are plenty, plenty, more but those are the ones I can think of rn. He comes from the darkest pits of the slums after all, so yeah... Lots of cussing can be expected.

SCENT ( S )  :    Sweet and masculine musky scent, mainly, with an occasional subtle note of gunpowder and/or tobacco depending on whatever tf he’s been doing. Maybe a vague note of blood if he just got out of a fight. Some vague vanilla too but that one only around the time when he lands a temporary job in a bakery in London.

BOTTOM OR TOP  :   Top leaning verse. He only bottoms occasionally for serious/long term boyfriends that he genuinely trusts, partly due to how being a bottom was (wrongly) perceived as being submissive by most people, and how dangerous being seen as such can be in a place like Ogre Street if the word gets out (not to mention that there’s been people there who have given him shit just for being gay), and partly because he also prefers to top and likes it better, lol.

SINGS IN THE SHOWER  :   Yeah. He started doing it as a child as a way to keep his mind distracted from how cold as fuck the water he’d wash himself with was (he usually bathed in rivers or washed himself with buckets of water some maid forgot outside of a household and that he managed to steal). He’s become a lot more used to cold baths over the years so a distraction is not necessary anymore, however, he still sings or hums sometimes whenever he has a song stuck in his head or if he’s particularly happy about something (this continues later on in life as well,even after cold baths are no longer part of his life, so it’s a habit that he never actually leaves).

LIKES PUNS  :    He loves them! Lame ones, good ones, cheesy ones, silly ones, witty ones, dirty/vulgar ones, etc. Heck, even dad jokes can be found in his repertoire! Chances are that, if you come to him with a pun or joke, he will give you one or two (maybe even more) in return.
