Pushing my "Childe is inspired by Uther Doul" agenda.
I wrote about how everything that he does contains a contradiction and we discussed with Cricket how Canotila's quest implies that the Abyss might not be just a place with monsters and dead forgotten gods, but rather a place where things randomly flicker in and out of existence or change to random other things.
And a huge part of my fascination with Childe is how three years after the start of the story I still can't figure him out. Human psyche doesn't bend at this angles, his combination of traits is not supposed to exist in one person (nor it can be imitated).
Yet, somehow it doesn't feel like ooc or bad writing, I have a very clear sense of what would be childelike and unchildelike, it just doesn't feel like anything that can exist inside a human brain, unless I resort to a very weird theory.
*
The theory.
China Mieville's "The Scar" has a concept called "possibility mining", certain places and certain magic/technology being able to conjure all the possible versions of a person or an object at once. It can be navigated to some extent.
There's a character called Uther Doul, a warrior-scholar, the pirate city rulers' bodyguard and overall a charming fellow. He's consistently described as someone changing the direction of his actions too quickly and unpredictably or having traits that shouldn't coexist in one person.
(he also wears grey, is proficient in most kinds of weapons and is generally polite and soft spoken. do you see my vision?)
First meeting:
“Surrender,” he said quietly to the man before him, who looked up in terror and sobbed, fumbled idiotically for his knife.    The grey-clad man spun instantly in the air, his arms and legs bent. He twirled as if he were dancing and stamped out quickly, the bottom of his foot slamming into the fallen man’s face and smashing him back. The sailor sprawled, bleeding, unconscious or dead. As the man in grey landed he was instantly still. It was as if he had not moved.
A fight at a city arena (mostly quoting this for the reaction of other people to him):
It was only when the frenzy spread to her own boat that she realized it was a word. “Doul.” It came from all around her. “Doul, Doul, Doul.” A name. “What are they saying?” she hissed to Silas. “They’re calling for someone,” he said, his eyes scanning the surrounds. “They want a display. They’re demanding a fight from Uther Doul.” He gave her a quick, cold smile. “You’ll recognize him,” he said. “You’ll know him when you see him.” [...] Uther Doul did not seem to live in the same time as anyone else. He seemed like some visitor to a world much more gross and sluggish than his own. Despite the bulk of his body, he moved with such speed that even gravity seemed to operate more quickly for him.
The heroine contemplating after (I don't think need to comment):
They left and walked the winding nightlit pathways of Thee-And-Thine toward Shaddler, and Garwater and the Chromolith. Neither spoke. At the end of Doul’s fight, Bellis had seen something that had brought her up short and made her afraid. As he had turned, his hands clawed, his chest taut and heaving, she had seen his face. It was stretched tight, every muscle straining, into a glare of feral savagery unlike anything she had ever seen on a human being. Then a second later, with his bout won, he had turned to acknowledge the crowd and had looked once more like a contemplative priest. Bellis could imagine some fatuous warrior code, some mysticism that abstracted the violence of combat and allowed one to fight like a holy man. And equally she could imagine tapping into savagery, letting atavistic viciousness take over in a berserker fugue. But Doul’s combination stunned her. She thought of it later, as she lay in her bed, listening to light rain. He had readied and recovered himself like a monk, fought like a machine, and seemed to feel it like a predatory beast. That tension frightened her, much more than the combat skills he had shown. Those could be learned.
Uther explaining lore:
Uther quoted something like a singer. “ ‘We have scarred this mild world with prospects, wounded it massively, broken it, made our mark on its most remote land and stretching for thousands of leagues across its sea. And what we break we may reshape, and that which fails might still succeed. We have found rich deposits of chance, and we will dig them out.’    “They meant all that literally,” he said. “It wasn’t an abstract crow of triumph. They had scarred, they had broken the world. And, in doing so, they set free forces that they were able to tap. Forces that allowed them to reshape things, to fail and succeed simultaneously-because they mined for possibilities. A cataclysm like that, shattering a world, the rupture left behind: it opens up a rich seam of potentialities.    “And they knew how to pick at the might-have-beens and pull out the best of them, use them to shape the world. For every action, there’s an infinity of outcomes. Countless trillions are possible, many milliards are likely, millions might be considered probable, several occur as possibilities to us as observers-and one comes true.    “But the Ghosthead knew how to tap some of those that might have been. To give them a kind of life. To use them, to push them into the reality that in its very existence denied theirs, which is defined by what happened and by the denial of what did not. Tapped by possibility machines, outcomes that didn’t quite make it to actuality were boosted, and made real.
Fun detail: he also wields what's called a "possible sword", it takes the shape currently preferred by the owner.
If I recall that correctly, it's never actually stated explicitly or explained why does Uther have such a weird combination of traits and fans argue a lot about which side was real.
I think all of them were. He just switched constantly between all the different versions of himself. And I think so does Childe. Not just in "he compartmentalizes" way (although that probably too) but in reality-shifting way.
I also think that's the real reason why Childe wasn't in Sumeru. His thought process itself is probably a massive spoiler. Also Nahida would have probably speedrun a corruption arc with a pace inconceivable both to King Deshret and Rukkhadevata if she tried to peek into his head.
*
It gets weirder and even more fun when you see the drops from the 4.2 boss, but I'll wait for the patch to drop to draw parallels. For now I'll just say that it involves a whale and a music instrument.

Chapter 274 - Rael just stabbed a teen boy and nobody cared... poor Kalvin ily :( Like damn Regis can't you sympathise at least? And damn trio, can't you guys care about a kid?
- Telling a Kertia that they can't match your speed,,, hilarious
- At least the assassination squad doesn't constantly complain about honour and wanting to fight one on one. Makes sense since their priority is whatever Crombel assigns them to but still.
- He's just a kid! Lay off of him! And he looks scared and 😭
Tumblr media
-Lol Zarga complimenting Frankenstein even though he finds him infuriating.
- Urokai! Fuck I want to start pre-emptively crying but for right now I'm just so happy to see him. Like he arrives thinking the three Elders sent would have succeeded in dealing with the enemy already so like he's obviously not here for helping out. Probably came to hang out with Zarga and mock whatever Lukedonian noble was the enemy and I 🥺 I just adore him
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chapter 275 - Back to Rael not caring about humans and only helping out when Seira and Raizel are mentioned. Ugh poor Kalvin though.
- The fact that Kalvin is abandoned and knows that since he's on his deathbed he at least wants to complete his mission but Rael just kills a child in cold blood and ugh. Just I can at least kind of ignore all the other deaths but he's a child.
- And Urokai saying he just thought it would be fun to watch like yeah he came to mock some random Lukedonian nobles,,, god and how he's actually pretty calm and collected? He doesn't freak out seeing Frankenstein and instead speaks normally despite how he's obviously filled with bubbling hatred since he's been searching for Frankenstein for all this time and fuck I just love him so much.
And how he politely asks Lunark to let him face Frankenstein when the latter insults him? Like yeah he ignores her and goes full crazy later but he does ask. Also both he and Zarga are quiet for a moment after said insult which is Frankenstein saying he didn't want to enter Eternal Sleep with the lord out of fear so he ran away and I have so many opinions about this like.
First the insult itself is such a disgusting one because the idea that not wanting to die is cowardice is archaic and barbaric. To die because the one who commands you is dead is an extremely backwards practice and even if it wasn't, Ashoka wouldn't have ever held the traitors not entering Eternal Sleep with him against them. He was understanding, he was happy they visited Raizel, he likely thought it was a good thing since then Raizel would have people he knew and cared for deeply to welcome him back. To hold that against them and mock them for it when the very lord they were supposed to die for wouldn't? It makes me viscerally upset in ways I can't describe. There are things they can be insulted for like their betrayal, their abandonment of Lukedonia, their presence in the Union despite their distaste for humans that they displayed when Frankenstein was present, but instead he picks something that anybody with common sense and basic critical thinking skills would be horrified by.
Then the momentary silence. I don't think Urokai's means too much. He hates Frankenstein and likely is trying to calm himself. It's Zarga's that interests me more. It could be just because he's a fellow traitor noble and thus shown but combined with Seira using the same insult prior and the fact that he's constantly with Urokai? I'd say he's probably aware of Urokai's reaction and watching what he'll do much more closely than others because he cares for his friend. He's aware of how it affects Urokai and knows that since he himself found that insulting, Urokai, dear darling Urokai who's so much wilder angrier crazier, Urokai who's been the most volatile of them, will take it much more personally.
- Urokai not caring about something like honour in fighting also makes me so very happy. No he doesn't care if Frankenstein is injured. Why should he? All he wants is to see him suffer. Something like honour, dignity, shame... none of that matters here. And how he laughs maniacally when Frankenstein says to go ahead... Urokai likely doesn't hide his volatile nature the way he did in Lukedonia.
- Unlike Lunark and 8th, the Urokai and Zarga aren't surprised by Frankenstein letting Dark Spear take over because they've seen this before. They know what it's like, and it makes me happy because you only really realise the exact reason why when rereading because you're aware of future flashbacks where Urokai fights Frankenstein and all of the details.
Tumblr media
- Zarga has had Lontrick still summoned during all his time at the sidelines and I really appreciate that. He hasn't let his guard down even though he isn't fighting at the moment. Also his hair isn't coloured in lol.
Tumblr media
- Raizel wakes up. Whatever.
Chapter 276 - He's very pretty, wish I was one of those readers who mistook him for a woman.
Tumblr media
- Rajak doesn't understand Urokai and Zarga at all. The two are very obviously attuned to each other and were about to work together in battle against Frankenstein considering the panels and their attitudes. Instead he insults them because they aren't fighting one-on-one even though that isn't even a pure noble ideal considering Central Knights fight together to eliminate strong enemies. It's the same concept here and yet there's constant belittlement. There's also the insult to not entering Eternal Sleep with Ashoka again and I hate it every time. In addition to all of that, Zarga's started being even more quiet ever since Urokai arrived, like he knows he doesn't have to speak since there's someone who'll understand him regardless. That's just my wishful interpretation in a way since he doesn't talk much in the first place and often keeps quiet when mocked but i do think it does truly seem as if it could be seen in that way.
- God he looks so evil with his expression but it's framed so beautifully with the flowing cloak and Dragus in the foreground.
Tumblr media
- Urokai is so consumed with hatred and revenge and pain that even after participating in a plan to kill the person he admired most, he spent the next 820 years hunting for Frankenstein, the one who essentially caused everything Urokai hates. It's sad really, no matter who it is. Ashoka waited hoping that against all odds, Raizel would be alive and return. He didn't know if he would, and yet he still left messages that he knew may have never triggered if he was truly gone because he wanted Raizel to be alive. Frankenstein desperately searched and and carved out every aspect of his life so that there would be a space in which Raizel could find joy even though he didn't know when they'd meet again. Just in case that they'd reunite the next day, he dedicated his life to seeking him out and building things that would give Raizel a peaceful life. Because surely Ye Ran wasn't the first place he built for him. And Urokai. Urokai whose sole reason for betrayal is Raizel. Even after getting rid of him he goes after Frankenstein because Raizel chose this man over him. Because god forbid there be someone who Raizel cared for in the world when he didn't care for Urokai. His hatred for Frankenstein never truly stemmed from Frankenstein himself after all. It was simply because he was given the attention that Urokai craved from Raizel. 820 years, and still Urokai can't get over Raizel so he hunts for Frankenstein.
- Urokai can spin Dragus really fucking fast. That spinning a pencil with your fingers trick except it's a glaive and using both hands...
- I really love how the fight between Urokai and Frankenstein seems like one between an ancient evil monster and a gleaming hero because of just how untrue that is and yet how fitting. Untrue because obviously the Union is corrupt, because Urokai is cruel and simply wants to eliminate them for his own selfish desires, because Frankenstein despite being morally dubious is kind and helps people. But it's fitting because the Union believes itself to be a greater good going against evils, with said evil being anyone against them, and their white and gold shows that. Also because Urokai sees himself being in the right, getting rid of just another terrible being such as with Raizel who went against their people.
Tumblr media
- Truly, Lunark getting angry at Urokai for interfering even though Frankenstein attacked them to the point that even Zarga was going to join is annoying. I wish they'd kept just how battle hungry she is because I feel that, once again, that depth is what made her interesting. It's such a fascinating flaw for a woman to have too, being so blood thristy that she gets angry even though she shouldn't be and does actually require help, but nah she got watered down. Then there's Urokai who literally grits his teeth but backs down, even being civil about it, all the while planning to truly interfere when the time is right. His sneakiness and planning ability is especially obvious when he doesn't do anything except avoid the immediate attack from Frankenstein after he backs down.
- It's obvious and shouldn't be any other way ofc but I do find it interesting just how strong Lunark is shown to be and that the other Elders all know and respect that she's extremely powerful. I may find the werewolves subpar with how their fur is distributed after transformation and how the women still aren't as extreme as the men but I do enjoy the fact that she is the strongest non-modified werewolf in present day.
- You know what, I actually do think that Lunark would fall in love with Raskreia because of her strength if they sparred. Raskreia is the strongest of all beings (with proper training) but it's still possible to win against her unlike with Raizel because from what I understand Lords simply aren't capable of outputting as much power as the Noblesse in a singular moment since the Noblesse can theoretically just take all their lifespan and use it for one attack if truly required and in that case don't even mention the Lord, the entire Earth would likely be doomed. So the strongest being who's still realistically beatable as long as you train? Obviously she's also going to be the hottest to someone like Lunark who gets the hots for someone because she's fighting them. And obviously the moment she faces someone stronger she'll forget the previous person but with Raskreia that won't happen since who's gonna come around that's stronger than her? However I do think that the loses hots thing won't apply if she's in an established relationship with her being deeply in love.
- Urokai maniacally laughing after he threw Dragus my lord. It's just something how deeply consumed he is. I really can't get over how Frankenstein is the one actually consumed by Dark Spear right now but it's Urokai whose depravity is on full display and this ties in with the imagery of a hero vs a monster once again.
Chapter 277 - You also see the hypocrisy here. When Frankenstein backstabs enemies or takes advantage of them we're supposed to cheer because he's the hero, but when Urokai or any other villain of the week does it it's portrayed as being some evil unjustifiable act that means that they're deplorable. It's not as deep as I'm making it out to be, yes, but it does tie in beautifully with the imagery. Monsters are of human(oid) flesh, and perhaps that still holds true. After all Frankenstein doesn't pull such 'shameful' moves when consumed by Dark Spear does he? And as much as Dark Spear is made out to be this evil thing, it's more pitiful than anything. Always lashing out, always hungry, always vengeful.
- I think there's something to be said about how Urokai has indirectly helped Frankenstein repeatedly. Here in the battle the surprise attack causes him to snap out of it before Dark Spear consumes him. In the past their fight is what lets him learn about Raizel and leads to the making of their bond. There's also something to be said about how it's Urokai's enraged actions that lead to things that only make him suffer more. If he hadn't gone to the extremes he did, if instead he had distanced himself from Raizel instead of trying to put more effort into someone who didn't return the sentiment... perhaps he would never have suffered as much. Though it's true Raizel could have done more, so much of Urokai's pain was self inflicted. Misery loves company.
- Urokai being lighthearted as he gives ingenuine apologies truly does make his interactions with Lunark seem like they're friends to some degree tbh. Just big "aww come on it's not that big a deal" to ppl you're close to vibes.
- The fact that Urokai does actually laugh before getting angry... he really is losing it but has enough sense somewhere in his mind to know that Frankenstein's attitude is funny. Same energy as when Zarga laughs because of how easily Frankenstein angers all of them in a flashback
Tumblr media
- No see I don't understand why Lunark is surprised. None of the Elders are good people, and Urokai enjoying torturing someone who he hates doesn't stand out at all among them . She does specifically say 'among the noble clan leaders' though which is even more amusing because Urokai doesn't even compare to Gradeus. Still, she should have expected that a noble chosen as a Union Elder wouldn't be the greatest person around. I also find it satisfying that Urokai doesn't care about honour because like I've said a million times, I don't understand why that's relevant when fighting unless it's sports or decided on in length before the fight.
- Oh my fucking god, just shut up about Eternal Sleep? I genuinely hate it. I enjoy the fact that even the 'good guys' are deeply flawed but I don't enjoy how some of these flaws aren't on purpose. Joining the lord in eternal sleep is actively held up as this symbol of goodness when let's be real, it's not. Committing suicide because the king is isn't in anyway good and the fact that they think it's okay to mock people for not wanting to die? I just... can't. So what if they didn't want to die? That's normal. Nobody who isn't highly depressed wants to die! I really do wish that there was just one clan leader from the previous generation that wasn't a traitor and wasn't asked by Ashoka to stay who didn't enter Eternal Sleep specifically due to fear of death.
- Pretty
Tumblr media
- Urokai called Seira's father stupid... Gonna ignore that and pretend it's because obviously he can't show his grief for his beloved cousin being dead so like Zarga he just plays the villain <3 Well, more than he already is lol. Anyway I guess canon Urokai helped Zarga out in the masscre, or more likely he just went to watch the same way he planned to watch what happened here.
- Urokai you and Zarga literally have linked synergy and work together flawlessly why are you making fun of Rajak for preventing you from killing Seira 😭 Though ig it is warranted since Rajak was the one constantly going on about honour and saying the traitors shouldn't be working together in fights first lol. Keep to your words and let Seira die king 😔 Obviously don't let her die but huh Urokai saying this makes more sense since he and Zarga haven't actually worked together yet ajjsjsjsj. Yanno I'm just gonna assume Urokai is mocking Rajak like this specifically because he heard everything that was said before and got mad on Zarga's behalf but also because yeah this is extremely hypocritical since literally everyone else has been saying what he just did first.
- And Raizel's here.

Tumblr media
APPEARANCE
Aissatou Gengembre, preferring to be called Aki, is a short young noble lady with originally wine-red long hair and her eyes are a rare gradient violet. As a well-known family, Aki wears comfortable dresses with white colors as a sign of the Gengembre Family's colors back when she was a human. Now, as a Fairy, her hair got shorter and changed into a lighter shade of green because of the nature mana gathering on her soul. However, Aki's eyes remain the same. Aki wears clothes in darker or a neutral color as she reasoned out that wearing bright colors will gather unwanted attention and her new hair is enough to stand out in a crowd. She also wears a pair of dark gloves as her current body is made out of mana and her soul, she can't touch physical objects in the Human World, and to hold them, she needs to wear gloves. Another reason she wears them is that she wants to touch Nacht's four devils and play with them.
Tumblr media
PERSONALITY
Growing up in a rich and loving family unlike other nobles, Aki is the eldest sister and therefore, builds up confidence and a silent personality. At an early young age, she is highly aware of the corruptions around her and develops a cautious behavior towards strangers, especially to the people who pose threat to her family. Masking her timid self away from everyone's eyes to avoid spotting weakness, Aki became independent to the point where anyone surrounds her is scared and talks both good and bad things about her. She has gotten used to the icy persona she was showing that she almost forget who she was and her mother was worried that she was not acting herself anymore. Similar to her silence, Aki also blends well with any children from her age, never the first nor the second.
Aki had a strong mentality and a considerate person. This was shown as she balances out her two personas: in front of other people and to the close ones. When the Gengembre Family move out and lived near the Faust household, Aki found the Faust twins intriguing and learned that she could be serious and have some fun at the same time. During her teenage years, Aki can be seen to love to beat up people who bully the weak and noblemen or ladies taking advantage of the poor. She doesn't discriminate, if someone did something unforgivable to a person, Aki doesn't hesitate to fight them even without magic. Today, as a Fairy, Aki still has her traits as a former human being but her self-restraints are no longer holding her back and she always has enjoyed fighting different types of people. In contrast to her child self who avoids fights as much as possible, Aki learned that being flexible to any situation will be much easier for her to live and thus, Aki can quickly adapt to the sudden change. Aki loves to tease people she's familiar with even though they are not familiar with her. Did she happen to hear a piece of juicy news about someone's crush? Aki will sign herself up to play cupid.
Tumblr media
BIOGRAPHY
Aissatou Gengembre is the first and eldest daughter of the Gengembre family. Her father was a high-ranked Magic Knight and left a great achievement in history which leaves expectations to Aki as a firstborn and gifted by rare magic. She has two younger sisters and Aki was called a villainous older sister as she displayed cold behavior and is awkward to talk to. Aki also had not spent much time with her family during the time her little sisters were born as that time, she was busy sticking to her regimen and training her body to get stronger. Back when she was still the only child, Aki is always sent to the Faust family to play with the twins, Nacht and Morgen. According to Aki's little sister, she was much closer to the neighbor's twins than her own family. However, that was not the case, as Aki is not good at talking to children and scared them just by her gaze alone. Nacht always jokes that if Aki continuous to act like that, she will never be able to communicate with other people as she only talks to Nacht and Morgen. She even earns the title of 'Villainess Nee-san' that Nacht calls her when one of Aki's little sisters cry. The Faust twins are both close to her. Throughout Aki's childhood, her memories are only filled with them and whenever Nacht riles up Aki, she cries easily because she is not used to being ridiculed which the younger twin, Morgen, step in and pat Aki's back to comfort her. In her teenage years, Aki and Nacht are always on each other's throats while if Aki is with Morgen, they debate on philosophy. As a Magic Knight, Aki is always sent to the frontlines since she can take care of the enemies. She also used to study the strong magic regions around the Clover Kingdom which also cause her death when she deals with both strong magical beasts and the abnormal actions of the zones. Specifically, at the age of 25, Aissatou Gengembre died because she used an enormous amount of mana to protect a whole village from starving large magical beasts and fighting the leader of the pact at the same time. This incident caused her life-force to drop and she died. When she woke up, Aki is strangely asleep under a tree as if she was napping. Then she knew that even afterlife, mana is still following her in afterlife and enter itself to her causing her to gain the ability to control mana itself without risking her life-force as a human. She stayed in the Fairy Realm for about two years and occasionally return to the Human Realm to have fun. During a boring blind date set up by Aki's fairy friend, her eyes locked to Nacht and immediately stood up to sling her arms to Nacht's arm, clinging into him and dragging the elder twin outside of the inn. Confused and anger by Aki's sudden appearance, Nacht coldly snapped at her from hiding the fact that she was alive all this time. As Aki explained her situation, Nacht asked her if she wants to see her family which she refused, and told him that she doesn't want to give the Gengembre family false hope. Unbeknownst to them, Aki unconsciously called Nacht in his first name and thus, creating an order between them as Fairy should not know a human's name and Nacht didn't deny his name. Nevertheless, Aki doesn't want to abuse her power and proposed an idea that she will let Nacht use her magic if he summons her. The turning events lead to their current relationship. [The aftermath of her death is unavailable]

BATTLE PROWESS
Magic: Pure Magic - Aki has rare magic, one that uses pure mana and because of this, she also used her life force. Unlike any magic, Pure Magic is magic that uses the User's mana and does not hold any attributes (e.g. ice, water, air). It is seen to be just a clean light green light that can reflect any affinity. When someone is a devil-posses, Aki has the upper hand; as stated in her magic's name, Pure Magic uses unpolluted mana (even the nature mana itself). Hitting her devil magic will only cancel out.
Healing Magic - Because Aki can manipulate nature mana, she can heal people with no problem. The mana is shaped similar to snow and glows into a small ball of light.
- Sky of Serene
Creation Magic: Using mana at will, Aki can form huge barriers as any magic will be sent back to the original Magic-User. She can create a weapon made of mana, however, Aki is unable to touch any man-made object and can't use them but she can transmit her mana to them, enabling her to use the man-made weapon along with her mana to it.
- Wall of Mana
- Mana-Infused Sword
- Mana-based daggers
Fairy Form Magic: Aki always transforms her body similarly to a human. If she shifted back into her current body, Aki can hold a tremendous amount of mana and has a vast magical power compared to her 'human' form.
-Strike of Fallen Blades
Tumblr media
ABILITIES
Assassin: Aki is extremely skilled in using daggers. She also throws them accurately and controls them. She also possesses a phantom-like presence as she use this ability to hide herself when spying. This also accompany her footsteps and breathing, they are faint and an average person can't sense them.
Master Hand-to-Hand Combat: Aki's father is a high-level ranked Magic Knight and trained her to be one. Thus, Aki had to possess hand-to-hand combat making her strong enough not to use her mana.
Martial Arts: Aki has her movement of fighting, reading her body language is also difficult as she moves freely. She moves unpredictably since Aki tends to think about her opponent's fighting range before attacking them.
Immense Speed: Aki possesses a rapid pace of speed during her training. It can be seen that if she gets serious in a battle, her movements are hard to see. Fast Reaction Time: Aki trained herself to adapt to any given situation and notice something amiss quickly.
Immense Strength: Even though Aki is a short lady, she can carry Nacht, who's taller and bigger than her, easily. She also had throw boulders when she was a human.
Immense Magic Power: Aki possess a monstrous amount of magic power even when she was a human. Being turned into a Fairy, Aki doesn't hold her mana but can be both Nature Mana and hers. Mana Sensory: As someone gifted by using pure mana, Aki can sense every mana around her and can see the flock of mana if she wanted to.
Mana Zone: Aki had shown her ability to cover an entire kingdom to heal everyone using Sky of Serene (This happened during a mission). By combining Nature Mana and her mana, Aki can control every mana present in the Human Realm.
Sync: As a Fairy who made a contract to Nacht, Aki can lend her Pure Magic without hurting the four devils directly to Nacht's body.
STATS
Physical Strength: 4/5
Magic Amount: ??/5
Magic Control: 6/5
Magic Sensing: 6/5
Cleverness: *5/5 ; 3/5 *This only applies in combat

EQUIPMENT:
Grimoire: Like everyone, Aki used to have her grimoire with a three-leafed clover that contains her spells. Her grimoire has a wine-red colored cover, the white three-leaf clover insignia in the center, and small intricate drawings of birds lining up around the borders. [Grimoire's picture is unavailable.]
Gloves: To touch a man-made object in the Human Realm, Aki has to wear the customized gloves created by the *Fairy Grandmother. *This is only added for the sake of Aki's story and doesn't hold any canon information until Tabata will reveal that fairies exist in the Black Clover world.
Tumblr media
RELATIONSHIPS:
Nacht Faust - Before they have a servant-master relationship, Aki and Nacht are childhood friends and don't get along with each other because one of them keeps provoking the other party. Even they are like cats and dogs, Aki and Nacht trust each other that they are not going to 'fail' when fighting as they are familiar with each other. Most of the time since Nacht doesn't summon her, Aki sleeps and gathers mana. Despite their usual clashes, both of them respect each other's ability and uses each other's strength to their advantage in a middle of a battle.
Morgen Faust - Like Nacht, Aki is also close with Morgen and doesn't have a problem talking with the younger twin but when they talk and discuss interesting topics as Aki and Morgen will debate who is the most powerful Magic King had passes in the generations aside from the First Magic King. They were both knowledgeable in these subjects. They also share the same morals.
Nacht's Four Devils - Being tied with the same master, Aki is also friends with the four devils and even gossip.
Asta - Asta has not met or seen Aki but the Fairy loves to prank him by tickling Asta's cheeks during a break in Devil-Binding Ritual and until now, he still doesn't have an answer why something is brushing his cheek with tickles even though there are no other people around them aside from Nacht and Liebe. Aki manipulates her mana to tickle Asta. She also had displayed an interest in him since Aki is curious what will happen if Liebe's Anti-magic will clash with her Pure Magic.
Liebe - Aki also loves to do the same to Liebe. He is also confused about why is Gimodelo is in front of him and booping his nose. Since it's dangerous to touch Liebe, Aki sends Gimodelo to tickle Liebe but the poor devil doesn't know how to do it and ends up booping him.
The Dark Triad - Aki wants to fight them but Nacht turns her down.
Fairy Grandmother - Not much is known but Aki and the Fairy Grandmother have daily tea time together and she created an item (gloves) to congratulate Aki from being a contracted Fairy.

TRIVIA
Aki's name, Assaitou is a French name.
Her last name, Gengembre is also French.
Aki's existence is based on a theory about people who dies became fairies.
Because she experienced death once, she lives her life as a Fairy without holding herself back and enjoys the rewards of being alive unlike when she was a human that held many regrets.
Nacht can summon Aki at will but if he calls her by her Fairy name, Aki will shift into her Fairy form.
In her 'human' form or not, Aki left a trail of faintly glowing little ball of lights that follows after her.
Name holds power for the Fairy Realm. If ever a Fairy knows a human's full name, they will have power to the human. This is why Aki doesn't call Nacht in his name and instead use "Master/Idiot" while Nacht calls Aki using her nickname.
