After the week he spent hiding in the Upside-Down, there was always something pulling at the back of Will’s neck. He had never told anyone - what could they do? But the closest metaphor he could compare it to was like an umbilical cord. Always present, pretty much giving him life as if he had been born there.

At the age of sixteen, Will hardly noticed it anymore. It was a lot more of an issue keeping it a secret when he was younger and fresh out of the Upside-Down and also when he got possessed by the Mind Flayer. But, now he had had time to get used to it, it didn’t bother him at all.

OR

Will's connection to the Upside Down was never broken and it is lacking a new leader.

What if Vecna's influence on Will ramps up this season (like season 2) and he does find it hard to control himself so he does end up maybe choking someone until he's able to snap out of it...

And maybe that's why Will is sitting across from everyone in both of these scenes, for safety. If this is true it would break my heart--for Will to feel like he isn't trusted... But at the same time it ties in with the Will Villain Arc many have been hoping for.

Since I watched S4 i'm confident that Will Byers won't be killed in the last season, why would you make him suffer such horrible things since s1 just to fucking kill him at the end? he's practically not had a moment of peace EVER since the show started

Some people saw his storyline in S4 and think he's gonna confess to his best friend and Mike's gonna be like "ok bro I accept you but No Homo, okay? We can still be friend though" and then Will's gonna die traumatized and unloved, ARE YOU CRAZY?

After reading the scrips n*ah said he will have a happy ending and I believe it, it's what makes sense after all.

What If part 3

Okay, okay, I had an idea that is very sad but I’m kinda rooting for it so just hear me out. What if the party is doing some inspector gadget shit and the party decides to split up in to groups of two. Lucus & Dustin, Mike & Will, etc. So while Will and Mike are doing some inspector shit—Will starts to get a headache and his nose starts bleeding-basically what happened to Max. Now before Mike notices, Will runs out of the room ‘cause he knows exactly what’s happening. Mike gets all confused and worried so he chases after him. But instead of Mike finding Will sitting cross legged and shit, Will isn’t there. Will keeps running and running until he reaches the wreckage that is castle Byers. Then everything goes red and shit and Vecna appears. Vecna has a whole speech and yada yada. So Vecna tries to take control over Will but he fights it. He thinks about all the good memories of hanging out in Mike’s basement, listening to music with Johnathan, playing D&D. But then Vecna makes him remember all the bad stuff like, bullies, “it’s not my fault you don’t like girls”, everyone forgetting about him. And Will starts to wonder if Vecna has a point. Vecna starts to turn all Will’s good memories rotten by reminding him about how he will never be able to hang out with Mike again if Mike thinks he’s gay and shit like that. So Vecna eventually wears Will down and starts to take control over him. By now the whole party is looking for Will and are desperately trying to contact the others to help find him. But they don’t find him in time and Will gets snatched by Vecna….introducing the Will villain arc.💀👹😈👻

i love el to the bottom of my heart but i feel like we've gotta acknowledge that el is not a sweet harmless cupcake??? that's will byers tbh

el is violent, dangerous, and reactive. and it's obviously for good reasons - she was taught that and has literally zero social skills. she doesn't want to hurt others needlessly, as seen when she refuses to kill a cat. but her reaction to bullying is literally wanting to actually kill angela. if she had had her powers, tell me she wouldn't have snapped her neck! like, yes, angela was awful to her, but when other characters (the party in s1-2) are bullied they aren't trying to smash their heads in as a reaction.

el, even as we left her in s4, truly only knows how to solve problems with violence. she doesn't currently have the interpersonal skills to navigate intimate relationships or difficult situations like bullying. if it's not a villain that can be slain she doesn't know how to proceed.

this is why i really don't think el's character arc can be that she kills vecna and saves the day yet again. she started her character arc with solo violence, and i really don't think she'll end it that way. she doesn't want to be a superhero; she wants support and meaningful relationships.

i really think vecna's defeat will wrap up el's arc by having her need to work with other people in a harmonious way - something that el currently has no idea how to do.

Billy was not racist. He was trying to protect Max and Lucas both from his father, who would have harmed both of them plus Billy if he knew they were even hanging out let alone romantically involved. Billy was a victim of abuse at the hands of his father, and his mother abandoned him to his father despite knowing what cruelties he would suffer just to save her own ass. Was Billy an asshole? Yes. Was the shitty way he treated people especially Max okay? No, never. Nothing excuses it. But you try living with the sorts of abuses his father heaped on him, and on his mother before she left, and the abuses he would have been heaping on Max's mom too. I have zero doubt that Billy's father r-worded both Billy's mom and later Max's mom because "wifely duties" or some other misogynistic garbage. Billy would have overheard the sounds from it pretty much any time it happened while he was home. You try living with all that and see how YOU turn out. Billy did deserve a redemption arc. He got one of a sort when he sacrificed himself despite "the mindflayer's" control over him, all to save El, Max, Max's mom, and even people he hated. Because he knew what "the mindflayer" had planned. Did you not see Billy's tears when "the mindflayer" was speaking through him? Did you not notice Billy told Karen to stay away from him rather than give in to "the mindflayer" and kill her? Did you not notice Billy flat out lied to his father when his father demanded to know where Max had run off to? There's no way Billy didn't have some kind of clue where to find her. But he lied to his father, to shield her and to shield Lucas, from whatever harm would absolutely have come to them at the hands of Neil Hargrove. Billy is not the embodiment of evil you clearly think he is.

Did Billy somewhat sometimes care about his stepsister? Yes. Did he get abused by his dad? Also yes. These facts don't excuse him from his actions in both seasons 2 and 3.

In our early meetings of Billy he highly threatens to run over the party while they're on their bikes. A normal same human being wouldn't do that. He also beat Steve to the point the kids thought he might be dead. He continued beating Steve even once Steve had been thoroughly knocked out, and likely would've killed Steve if Max hadn't knocked him out.

Also YES HE WAS RACIST WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT???? Did you know that Billy's line "certain type of people" in regards to Lucas, was originally a black slur? He was a racist character picking up the trait from yes his abusive dad. Just because his dad was abusive doesn't mean Billy didn't become racist because of his upbringing with him.

You can definitely say that line is to protect Max from abuse from her stepdad if he found out she was talking to a black boy. But it certainly wasn't protecting Lucas, billy couldn't care less about Lucas' safety (SEE TRYING TO RUN HIM OFF THE ROAD).

His character was written to be a bad person, accept this. Characters aren't always written to have redemption arcs or all be good people. He was a racist bully from the 80s with an abusive dad. Just because you think he's hot doesn't change these facts.

Also, abuse doesn't inherently make your character grow up to be a bully. Lonnie Byers is heavily written as an abusive father, even going so far as it was suggested he killed Will in season 1. But neither of the Byers grow up to be bullies. Eleven is brought up in an abusive environment and moves past these traits. Steve's parents are seen as hard on him and in some ways absent and neglectful and besides Jonathan we never see him fight anyone that wasn't for protection.

Billy is the only older character that shows complete disregard for the kids safety. And him dying in st3 doesn't forgive these actions nor rewrite his racist abusive character.

You're allowed to hate characters that are written to be the bad guys. No one attacks anyone for hating Dr Brenner because he's the villain. Many people including myself didn't like Steve in season 1 because he was written to be the popular asshole. Characters are written certain ways for reasons. So go enjoy your self insert fanfiction where you really just want Billy to be a hot ooc. But for the rest of us it's totally fair to hate on one of the villains of the series.
