oh. KOS-MOS's name is capitalized to further contrast how chaos's name is in lowercase. KOS-MOS and chaos as in, order and disorder, the animus and anima, etc etc. they were supposed the be the only two recurring cast members in all the arcs of the six episodes of xenosaga if it ever got to the point where it had six episodes. which makes sense because chaos is the failsafe of the universe and KOS-MOS (mary) is the controller. oh... I can see this happening actually. I can see the vision. but also it would be neat if they were literally just there in the background while someone else's story starts. and someone else's. and so on and so forth, just being around until the end of the universe, refusing to play their role, maybe helping others prolong the end as long as they can.

also this scene, the first time chaos actually talks to her, really only makes sense in hindsight huh.

chaos hasn't seen mary in thousands of years and he's like, "oh hey, you're a robot now! cool. now how do we wake you up?"
