What's you biggest insecurity?

I would say my intelligence, like I'm not smart enough for my own good and I'll be found out. Like what I know is not enough. And I know I'm not dumb, but, like, maybe I am? Ugh.

43. If you could choose your own name, what would it be? Why?

Another name with a J. Jessica has become a basic name, but names starting with a J are sexy imo. But not Jennifer. There's too many of them too. Maybe Jessa...

52. What do you do to calm yourself down?

Bake, write, read or watch a film. If that doesn't work, sleep. Being unconscious for hours sometimes helps.

61. What quirks do you have?

I touch my eyelashes, with my fingers. It used to be worse, but my eyes have gotten more sensitive.

74. Who's your favorite historical figure?

Currently Malcolm X.

100. Are you ok?

Sigh. Right now, I'm ok, but It's been a rough couple of months. Job instability, illness among family members, death. It's been hard to keep my head up, but I feel like I'm turning a corner soon. I'm ok now, but it comes in waves.

5 drinks to get to know me

Tagged by @wideeyedandtired. Full disclosure, I’m not much of a drinker, so these are extremely basic, lol.

1. Asti (always on special occasions. Kind of a family favorite).

2. Bourbon and dark Rum, mainly for eggnog or a mix with coke.

3. Baileys, mainly as an eggnog sub.

4. Red wine, especially if it’s on the sweet side.

5. Milk + Pepsi. Can’t always drink it because it can be heavy, but it’s been a pleasant discovery.

Special shout-out to coffee. I love and live on it, and always love anything with coffee in it (tiramisù is my favorite dessert!)

One that I also like the taste of but never have is Sambuca. All the alcoholic drinks I like are basically inherited from my parents.

31. Do you have a hunch about how you’re going to die?

Oh my god, I’m going to be thinking about this for the rest of the night! I have a feeling it would either be a disease caused by my genetics, or worse, a freak accident. For someone who thinks about death everyday I try really hard not to think about how it’s actually going to happen…

39. Do you know what you want out of life?

A stable career, and maybe have someone fall in love with me. And money.

77. Is there comedy in all tragedy and tragedy in all comedy?

More of the latter than the former. I was going to say more, but it’s a little of a slippery slope, and I’m not smart enough to handle it!

92. Do you speak multiple languages? Which do you dream in? What language would you want to learn?

I speak English, Italian, and very little Dutch. I can understand a lot of Spanish because of the italian, and can read French because I studied two years of it in school. I would LOVE to be fluent in Dutch and French, and maybe some Japanese?

100. What belief do you have that isn’t logically grounded, but you still firmly believe in?

Kindness costs nothing.

Hmm. Cozy black jumper, black jeans, and my Rometty Doc Martens!

baby - what makes you feel better when you’re down?

Reassurance from loved ones. It has saved me more times than I’d like to admit. And tiramisù.

sunshine - what’s the nicest compliment you’ve ever gotten?

When someone said I reminded them of my dad. It reminded me no one is ever truly gone.

wild thing - what’s something about you that surprises people?

That I can’t sing. For some reason a lot of people assume that I can sing. I can barely hold a tune, but I think it has to do that a lot of the biggest pop stars around have my skin color…

bubba - tell me a funny story from your childhood. 

I got a crush on a boy because he played basketball with me and my friends for one afternoon.

my love - what would your dream home be like?

It would be a brownstone-like house with a Nancy Meyers kitchen and a room filled with books and records. And the most cozy living room I can dream of.
