Track Day 11/04/17

I am fortunate to have been working with some incredible teens as part of the “Home From Home” foster organisation in Khayelitsha from as far back as when I first volunteered in June. This year, we have introduced to the teens the “President’s Award” (Duke of Edinburgh equivalent)  and have begun taking them through the different elements they need in order to achieve the award. As part of their school holidays, the teens spent half a day volunteering at our partner emergency foster center and half a day of athletics at Mandela Park stadium. Even in jeans & canvas shoes, those guys could outrun the best of us! Felt such a sense of pride watching the teens on this day as even in the time I’ve know them, I can see them becoming such awesome humans.
