It occurred to me today that I really haven't shared any non-fiction outside of biographies, which is a shame because one of my favourite types of book as a kid was anything that was full of science trivia. Luckily, one of the most beautiful books sent to me to review as part of the Read With River Book Club's #FindMeStories_BestOf2019 project has been "Why Don't Cars Run on Apple Juice: Real Science Questions from Real Kids" (2019) by Kira Vermond. Full of fun, colourful illustrations by Suharu Ogawa, this fabulous picture book for kids about 5+ (and even younger, very curious ones) is divided into sections covering everything from outer space to some giggle-worthy bodily functions. The questions range from common/popular ones that most kids ask at some point, to some really silly but also interesting ones that might not occur to us. With enough text to be thorough but not overly daunting for early school-aged kids, it's a great book to have in your home library to interest kids in the workings of the world around them. Many thanks to Annick Press for providing a review copy for my honest consideration. I'm so glad to share this!! ⚫ ⚫ ⚫ #noodlenutskidsbooks #whydontcarsrunonapplejuice #realsciencequestionsfromrealkids #kiravermond #suharuogawa #scienceforkids #sciencetrivia #sciencebooksforkids #stem #stembooks #stemkids #stembooksforkids #stemforkids #sciencefacts #outerspace #thehumanbody #coolfacts #nonfictionforchildren #teacherinspiration #homeschoolcollective #homeschoolscience #learnathome #inquirybasedlearning #iteachsecond #iteachthird #schoollibrarian https://www.instagram.com/p/B4nuxgznbOX/?igshid=ukqg781cda6f
