SO I SAW YOUR ABADDON DRESS AND I WONDERED IF YOU KNEW WHERE I COULD GET A PATTERN FOR IT THANK YOU GOOD NIGHT
Hi there.  For my dress, I actually drafted a pattern from scratch, just using my measurements and screenshots of Abaddon’s dress, so I can’t give you a pattern number to replicate it exactly.  I have come across patterns out there that are pretty close to screen accurate for Abaddon’s dress, so it kind of depends on how screen accurate you want your dress to be, and how comfortable you are modifying a pattern if you do want complete accuracy.  Of the “big 4” pattern companies that you can find at most fabric stores, the best patterns I’ve seen recently are Vogue 8727 (View F), Vogue 8470 (View B), and Simplicity 1801 (View C), and of those I think Vogue 8727 is probably the most accurate. You want to find a pattern that has a deep V neckline in front, fairly wide straps, and a high rounded neck in back (like Vogue 8727 View F has).  It should have a flat midriff section in both front and back, with darts on the back bodice (like the two Vogue patterns have), and gathers under the bust in the front.  The skirt is full and gathered, attaching to the midriff section near the natural waist, then falling to below the knee/slightly above mid-calf, with a separate petticoat worn with the skirt to give it volume.  After looking at tons and tons of screenshots, I’m pretty certain that the skirt on the screen-used dress is a circle skirt with a gathered waist, but you’re really unlikely to find that in any modern patterns, because it’s such a fabric hog — there’s about 5 yards of fabric in the skirt of my dress.  The two Vogue patterns look to have either circle or near circle skirts with no gathers at the waist, whereas the Simplicity pattern has gathers on what is probably a straight-cut skirt.  I used this circle skirt tutorial to draft mine, just doubled my desired waist measurement and then gathered the waistline until it fit on the midriff section.  You could combine that tutorial with one of the pattern tops, depending on how comfortable you are with modifying a pattern or drafting from scratch.  Cosplay is a great excuse to challenge yourself to learn new sewing techniques, even if it’s a bit terrifying at first. ;)  Good luck!
