Well, I had no idea, that lithuania and latvia are quite dinstinct from each other. I guess, there could be loads of people even mistaking those two because of their similar names and locations (some cases already happened in my presence).
In your history and geography lessons back in school, you have presumably accumulated in depth knowledge about this topic, 99.9% of all non-Balts for sure will never have.
I wonder, if this feels positively exclusive for you, or on the opposite rather isolated.
PS: "kaunasian" is a newborn adjective, meaning "from kaunas" or "belonging to kaunas" :-P
Well there are lots of people mistaking Austria and Australia too but that doesn't mean they should unite or idk Germany and The Netherlands because languages are similar too. Or Estonia and Finland. I never have mistaken any country like this but then again, not all people have good geographic and history knowledge. But i don't think that's a good thing to brag about. 🤷♀️ Also, you can always go to Wikipedia and read about countries. That's what i do sometimes. But i assume you didn't pay attention in history and geography classes and that's why you're so surprised of my normal knowledge of these things.
Also i think it's normal to know a lot about your country's history. There's nothing exclusive about it. I'm sure if I'd be born and live in idk Poland or Germany or France I'd know a lot about their history too. Every country will pay the most attention in history classes on their own history. That's nothing new.
Also i met many people who have a lot of knowledge about Baltic countries so i don't think it's very uncommon to be interested in history. And then of course i meet people who don't know history in general and they are usually very ignorant.
