And poor Jayalalitha departed.
She could not take anything with her.
The imperious Jayalalitha who ruled over Tamil Nadu became just a memory. She became the permanent occupant of 6 feet of public land, not in any of the thousands of acres she owned.
She was taken in a gun carriage, though she had a good fleet of luxury cars and vehicles, leaving empty handed, and leaving everything earned through fair and foul means for others.
1197 Acres in Tirunelveli.
200 Acres in Valajapetta.
100 Acres in Otthukkotta.
25 Acres in Shiruthavoor.
200 Acres and another farm of 100 Acres in Kancheepuram.
Grape Garden of 14.5 Acres in Jeedimetla village in Ranga Reddy district in Telangana.
Kodanad Tea Estate of 1600 Acres with Bunglows in Nilgiri.
Besides these, she had...
A massive 24,000 square feet residential property called Veda Nilayam in Poes Garden costing about Rs 100 Crores.
commercial buildings, including one each in Chennai and in Hyderabad. Other properties included....
800 kg silver.
28 kg gold.
750 pairs of shoes.
10,500 sarees.
91 watches.
Two Toyota Prado SUVs.
Tempo Traveller.
Tempo Trax.
Mahindra Jeep.
An Ambassador car
A Mahindra Bolero.
A Swaraj Mazda Maxi.
A Contessa.
The nine vehicles are worth around Rs 42,25,000. (As on 1997), not to speak of Benami properties held all over and later additions.
Her life is a lesson for all human beings;
when the call comes from above, you may not even have time to say goodbye to your near and dear.
No one can help you, no one can save you, not the followers who were ready to do anything and even to give up their lives, a battery of servants waiting for an instruction, or the battalion of officers ready to take orders, best hospitals, best medical brains from India and abroad – repeat no one.
It is also a lesson that whatever one amasses arrogantly through unfair means, through deceit, giving pain to others, will have to be left behind, along with what was earned fairly.
Sometimes, even the offering of last drop of water or performance of last rites may not be by a blood relative as in her case.
*Realise that we are only a traveller here and have to leave for the next destination.
So give up ego or all that are related, realise one’s own true self, be a good human being showing empathy to fellow beings.

Farmers protest day 18: Deadlock over new laws continues; top developments
NEW DELHI: The farmers continued their 18th day protest on Sunday seeking government to fulfill their first and major demand to roll back the three laws. The protesting farmers today declared a wider day-long movement after ‘Bharat Bandh’ called earlier this month, urging its leaders to undertake a hunger strike on Monday from wherever they are protesting. Meanwhile, the Union home minister Amit Shah held discussions on the farmers’ issues with Punjab BJP leaders today at his residence. The agitation is on as five rounds of talks between the government and the farmers so far remained inconclusive. Here are the top developments of the day: Heads of all protesting farmer unions to be on hunger strike on Monday against agri laws The hunger strike between 8 am to 5 pm on Monday is part of the farmers’ plan to intensify their agitation from December 14, farmer leader Gurnam Singh Chaduni said today. Addressing a press conference at Singhu border, where the farmers have been camping in agitation, Chaduni said the leaders will observe the hunger strike at their respective places. Shah, Tomar discuss farmers’ issues with Punjab BJP leaders As the Centre’s talks with protesting farmers continue to be stalled, Union home minister Amit Shah held discussions on the farmers’ issues with Punjab BJP leaders today in the presence of agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar. At the nearly 40-minute meeting at Shah’s residence, the situation in Punjab and steps to tackle the protest that farmers plan to intensify in the coming days were also discussed. Security up in Gurugram as farmers stopped on Haryana-Rajasthan border Security in Gurugram district was beefed up today with the deployment of more police, rapid action force and even paramilitary personnel even as hundreds of farmers from Rajasthan were stopped on the Haryana-Rajasthan border the previous night. Sources said that more police personnel than farmers were seen deployed at the Rajasthan-Haryana border falling in Gurugram district on Sunday. Modi govt to deal sternly with ‘Tukde Tukde gang’ trying to take advantage of farmers stir: Ravi Shankar Ravi Shankar Prasad stated that stern action will be taken against nation breakers “Tukde Tukde Gang” trying to take advantage of farmers movement against the new farm laws. The Union Minister for Law and Justice made the assertion while launching Bihar BJPs state-wide “Kisan Chaupal Sammelan” (farmers conference) in support of the three agricultural Acts at Tekbigha village in Bakhtiarpur assembly constituency of Patna district. Chidambaram slams Centre over issue of farmers’ protest Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram slammed the Central government and alleged that some of its Ministers had alluded to the presence of “separatist” elements in ongoing farmers’ protest against the agriculture reforms. “Ministers have described the protesters against the Farm Laws as Khalistanis; agents of Pakistan and China; Maoists; and, the latest, tukde tukde gang,” the Congress leader tweeted. “If you exhaust all these categories, it means there are no farmers among the thousands of protesters. If there are no farmers, why is the government talking to them?” he asked in a subsequent tweet. AAP workers to fast tomorrow, showing solidarity with protesting farmers Delhi Irrigation and Flood Control Minister Gopal Rai today said the workers of the ruling Aam Admi Party (AAP) will observe a fast on Monday, showing solidarity with the farmers protesting against the three recently passed farm laws. “The AAP has decided that its party workers will observe fast to protest against the farm laws at the party headquarters in ITO area. The MLAs and councillors will lead the group fasting from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm,” said Rai while addressing media in Delhi. We can only request govt to take back farm laws, says farmer leader Kuldeep Singh As the farmer protest along the borders of Delhi continues, farmer leader Kuldeep Singh request the government to take back these laws. The farmer leader said, “People not only from India but across the world have come here to support us. We can only request the government to take back these laws. I believe that the central government is trying to lay down a trap. Sometimes, they say it is the agenda of the Congress party, sometimes they say that we are Khalistanis, sometimes they say we are Naxalites and so on.” Punjab DIG Prisons resigns in support of farmers’ protest In solidarity with farmers protesting against the new farm laws at the gates of Delhi, Lakhminder Singh Jakhar, Punjab Deputy Inspector General (Prisons), on Saturday resigned from the service. The DIG said that being the “son of a farmer”, he “cannot be blind towards the next farming community”. Govt’s door is always open for farmers, ready for talks: Javadekar On the 18th day of farmers’ protest on different border of the national capital, Union minister Prakash Javadekar said the government’s door is always open for farmers and it is ready to discuss their issues. The minister expressed his view while talking to media at his residence ahead of farmers’ ‘hunger strike’ announcement for December 14 at Singhu border — one of the key agitation spots at Delhi-Chandigarh route where thousands of farmers are sitting under open skies braving chilly winter nights. MP govt blames Congress as few state farmers join Delhi agitation Even as the protests by farmers in Madhya Pradesh is not quite visible as compared with other states, the state government has been accusing the opposition Congress of “misleading” the peasants on the issue. As small farmers in Madhya Pradesh have been confined to their villages during the agitation against the three new farm laws, the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government is assuming that there is no resentment among the farmers. Punjab CM hits out at Delhi CM Kejriwal for ‘exploiting farmer stir’ Captain Amarinder Singh attacked his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal for “exploiting” the ongoing agitation of the farmers to “further his party’s petty electoral agenda with blatant lies and brazenly false propaganda”. “In sharp contrast to the Kejriwal government in Delhi, which had been thriving on corporate houses’ crumbs, the Punjab government had neither signed any agreement with Adani Power nor was even aware of the private players bidding for power purchase in the state,” said the CM, in a hard-hitting reaction to the latest campaign by the AAP in Punjab. via Today Bharat nbsp; Further talking to enhancing trade and investments between the two countries, she said huge potential exists in Bangladesh for Indian business community in different sectors. New Delhi: Indiarsquo;s onion export ban seems to have impacted kitchen of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, as she has urged in lighter vein to provide prior information about such decisions. nbsp; The Bangladeshi prime minister said that Indiarsquo;s sudden decision to stop onion exports has lead to a bit of difficulty for her countrymen. ldquo;I donrsquo;t know why you stopped onion (exports). So what I did was, I told my cook to not to use onion in foodhellip;Prior notice of such decisions would help. Suddenly, you stopped and it became a difficulty for us. In future, if you are taking such a decision, prior information would help, rdquo; she said in a lighter vein. She was addressing India-Bangladesh Business Forum here, which was organised by industry chambers, including CII and Assocham. Commerce and industry Minister Piyush Goyal was also present at the event. Last Sunday, India banned exports of onion to increase availability of the commodity in the domestic market and contain spiralling prices. The Centre has also imposed stock limits on both retail and wholsesale traders for onion. Further talking to enhancing trade and investments between the two countries, she said huge potential exists in Bangladesh for Indian business community in different sectors. She said that Bangladesh has the most liberal investment policy in South Asia, and it includes protection of foreign investment by law; generous tax holiday; concessionary duty on import of machinery; unrestricted exit policy; full repatriation of dividend and capital on exit, to name a few. ldquo; We are in the process of establishing 100 Special Economic Zones. About a dozen of them are ready with four allotments to three countries. Bangladesh has offered three zones for Indian investors at Mongla, Bheramara and Mirsarai. Substantial investment from Indian investors in these three Indian Economic Zones in Bangladesh would help broaden our exportable base. ldquo; We also want to see trade and investment together where Indian big investors can set up industries in Bangladesh and export the products to the north-eastern states of India and to South-east Asian countries taking advantage of the improved connectivity between us,rdquo; Hasina said. The prime minister said that strategic location of Bangladesh provides tremendous potential for being the economic hub of the region. With India on the west, China on the north and Southeast Asia on the east, Bangladesh is in the middle of a combined market of 4 billion people, she said, adding the volume of bilateral trade has steadily grown during the past years. ldquo; The balance of trade, however, is still largely in Indiarsquo;s favour. The volume of trade between two countries is nearly USD 10 billion. In 2018, Bangladesh was Indiarsquo;s eighth largest export destination with USD 8.8 billion export and our export to India also crossed USD 1 billion mark for the first time last year. So, the progress is visible, but there is lot of scope for further deepening our relations in the area of trade and investment, rdquo; she said. Goyal said that India businesses should grab opportunities in the neighbouring country. ldquo; There are so many areas where businesses of both the countries can increase cooperation. Grab the opportunity that Bangladesh offers, rdquo; he said. Further, he said that lot of potential exists in railways also and India is ready to share its expertise in the development of this sector in Bangladesh. India is looking to increase the frequency of three trains between the two countries, he added. Bandhan Express, which runs between Kolkata and Khulna once a week, would be increased to twice a week and later four days a week. Similarly, frequency of Maitree express, which runs between Kolkata and Dhaka, would be increased to five day a week from the current four day a week and ldquo;my effort will be to make it daily, rdquo; he said. ldquo; We are looking at making entire railways between the countries a seamless movement for goods and people, rdquo; he added. Commenting on the economic relations between the two countries, SAARC Chamber of Commerce amp; Industry (SCCI) Vikramjit Singh Sahney said that both the countries have huge potential to increase trade and investments. He said that the line of credit extended by India to Bangladesh should include fertiliser plants also and ldquo;there is a need to open more chek posts and skill training centres to enhance capacity buildingrdquo;. nbsp; #WATCH Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Delhi: Pyaaz mein thoda dikkat ho gya hamare liye. Calling the steep rise in diesel and petrol prices as Rs 11 lakh crore ‘fuel loot,’ the Congress on Thursday called for a ‘Bharat bandh’ on September 10, saying it was in touch with other parties for their support. The party again demanded that petrol and diesel be brought under Goods and Services Tax (GST). The government had earlier rejected the demand saying most states were opposed to it.It also demanded that there should be immediate reduction in central excise duty and excessive VAT in the states.“Many promises were made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi before coming to power in 2014, but none were kept. When questions were raised by Congress President Rahul Gandhi about the Rafale fighter deal and Amit Shah’s son, those too went unanswered,” Congress leader Ashok Gehlot said at a press conference in the Capital.“The mismanagement of economy has led to high prices. When fuel prices were rising during the UPA regime, taxes were reduced to take the burden off the people. But due to the mismanagement by the current government, the prices of petrol, diesel and gas cylinders have gone up steeply,” he said.“We decided for the Bharat Bandh call today after a meeting of all party general secretaries and the state leaders,” he said, adding the party was in touch with other opposition parties for their support. He said Congress workers would protest at petrol stations across the nation between 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.Later his party colleague Randeep Singh Surjewala said the “fuel loot” has resulted in the Modi government profiting Rs 11 lakh crore. In May 2014, he said, excise duty on petrol was Rs 9 per litre while today it is Rs 19 per litre. “Similarly the excise duty on diesel in 2014 was Rs 3 and today it is around Rs 15 today.“An RTI reply has revealed that the Modi government is selling diesel for Rs 34 per litre and petrol for Rs 37 per litre to other countries whereas in India the price is high,” he alleged.Calling it “fuel loot,” the Congress leader said the diesel and petrol should have been brought under the Goods and Services Tax (GST).“Rahul Gandhi had demanded to bring petrol and diesel under GST as this alone will give a relief to common people by Rs 10-15 per litre,” he said.“The rupee is getting devalued every day. 10 per cent is the loss in value of the rupee in last one year. It is the most devalued currency in Asia, but neither the Prime Minister nor the Finance Minister is worried about it.”On Supreme Court ruling that ‘bandhs’ are illegal, Surjewala said: “We are aware of the ruling and that is why the ‘bandh’ is between 9:00 am to 3:00 pm so that the common person is not inconvenienced.”Congress leader Ahmed Patel said that most opposition parties have given their consent to support the bandh. “Consultations are going on with three or four parties. The SP, RJP and NCP have agreed.”“We have not consulted BSP yet and so far as TMC is concerned, they have agreed to support the agitation,” he said.IANS : 7th. Sept,18
IS IT CORRECT FOR THE CONGRESS PARTY TO CALL FOR BHARAT BANDH ON 10TH. SEPTEMBER (MONDAY) AGAINST FUEL RISE ? Bharat Bandh protest: 4 killed in MP's Gwalior, Morena; top 10 developments
Dalit organisations across the country have called a 'Bharat bandh' on Monday to protest a recent Supreme Court ruling "diluting" the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. The protests left four people dead in Madhya Pradesh's Morena and Gwalior, where a curfew was later imposed. The Modi government on Monday filed a review petition on the Supreme Court judgment on the SC/ST Act. Protests turned violent in Rajasthan's Barmer, with cars and property being damaged. Similar reports emerged from Meerut. Visuals from Bharat Bandh protests in Gwalior showed shots being fired during the protests, news agency ANI reported.
Nineteen people were on Monday injured in Gwalior. Of them, two were said to be in a critical condition, news agency ANI reported. Further, internet service has been blocked in Gwalior district till 6:00 am tomorrow.
Speaking on the Bharat Bandh protests, Union Minister Ramvilas Paswan today told news agencies that one can understand if the people are protesting, but why is the "Opposition playing politics". Paswan said that parties like the Congress, which did not give the Bharat Ratna to B R Ambedkar, are now acting like his followers.

Telangana Congress leader and Kodangal MLA Revanth Reddy filed a lunch motion in the Hyderabad High Court after he was detained by the Telangana police in the early hours of Tuesday, hours before a scheduled meeting by caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in the area. The lunch motion will be heard by the High Court at 2.15 pm and Advocate CV Mohan Reddy will be appearing on behalf of Revanth. Following the leader's arrest, supporters in areas like Navapet, Pedda Nandigama staged rasta rokos, raised slogans and demanded that Revanth be released immediately. Early Tuesday morning, policemen entered Revanthrsquo;s house in Kodangal and broke open his bedroom door. The MLA's aides can be seen arguing with the officials, demanding that they be shown ID cards of the authorities and also a copy of the arrest warrant. The police said that it was a preventive arrest on the orders of the Election Commission (EC) as Revanth had appealed to the people in his constituency to boycott the meeting by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief and hold protests in the area. Section 144 was imposed in the constituency following Revanth's arrest. Geetha, Revanth's wife, questioned how the rally could be held if the prohibitive order was imposed and appealed to Revanth's supporters to maintain peace. Kodangal Assembly constituency falls in two districts ndash; Mahabubnagar and Vikarabad. Meanwhile, speaking to reporters, Vikarabad Superintendent of Police T Annapurna said that the leader was arrested under Section 151 of the CrPC (Arrest to prevent the commission of cognizable offences). "We will keep him under preventive custody for few hours. He is safe and we have done this in order to execute the elections peacefully and lawfully to ensure that the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) is not disturbed, as the situation may lead to provocation between parties," she said. However, it is unclear if KCR's meeting will take place as per schedule or not. Meanwhile, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) shot off a letter to the Election Commission and stated that a bandh had not been called for and that the EC was liable for the costs the Congress incurred. ldquo;You are informed that Revanth Reddy never called for a bandh at Kosgi. There is no complaint with the DEO (District Election Officer) as could be known from the DEOrsquo;s office before you started to give instructions to the police of Telangana state,rdquo; it stated. ldquo;The caretaker CM also has to be treated as a former MLA but you seem to have treated him as a Chief Minister and gave instructions under the influence of state machinery to prevent Mr Revanth Reddy and kept them under preventive arrest,rdquo; it further added. ldquo;The program of Mr Revanth Reddy, working president and as a star campaigner has already been fixed in advance and a chopper has been booked for the said purpose. Because of your action, all monies and time and rent for the chopper etc. have become a useless exercise and for which you alone would be held liable. If you want to send Revanth Reddy out of Kodangal constituency, you may allow him to fly to other constituencies by chopper as a star campaigner, but fail to understand why you arrested him and at whose instance,rdquo; the letter said. Earlier this week, TRS General Secretary Sreenivas Reddy met Telangana CEO Rajat Kumar and accused Revanth Reddy of indulging in attempts to sabotage their party meeting. In their letter to Rajat Kumar, the TRS said that KCR was going to Kosgi in Kodangal constituency at around 3 pm on December 4 to address a public meeting in support of local TRS candidate Patnam Narender Reddy, the brother of Transport Minister Patnam Mahender Reddy. nbsp;
