#the hobbit#tolkien dwarves#i made this for the lols buuut the accents actually do make a little bit of sense#it's possible that the brogue originated in moria then continued in ered mithrin and then on in the iron hills and erebor#since both are ruled by longbeards#and erebor and the iron hills having consistent accents makes sense because they are smaller and more dense cities#meanwhile ered luin is spread out and rather close to cities of men so a little variation is bound to happen#what really trips me up here is where Thorin's accent comes in#why is he english (i mean. aside from richard armitage being english)#is it a royalty thing? But Balin and Dwalin seem to have been near Thorin his whole life and they dont have that accent#scottish Thorin wouldve been cool
