Sometimes I wonder, if I dislike booktok spaces for the same reasons I dislike Zutarians, because the books seem to attract almost the same type of people
#anti zutara#booktok critical#It just feels like sometimes people seem more interested in the aesthetics of a (heterosexual) pairing#than the underlying themes of a story#while also not being able to care for m/f friendships#Zuko and Katara have such an interesting dynamic as friends and allies#why do people feel the need to turn it into romance#why is almost every fantasy book a romantasy nowadays#Why does the book market cater so much towards tropes#tbh so do I but I kind of hate sticking a label on my characters like that#it feels dishonest to them
