A Sonnet for a Hunter

I see, at distance, across the courtyard, A tiny flourish as you slip around The corner - I try not to stare too hard, For I know you will sense it like a hound.

That billowing plum sleeve and feathered hat, Your voice, ever melodious and bright Has like an arrow pierced my heart, and that My dear, has made me feel constantly light.

I never used to really notice you, Despite your radiance, you stayed hidden. I don't know when my thoughts changed, or why, too, But you nestled in my mind, unbidden.

Though a life chasing beauty you have led, You seem to have hunted my heart instead.
