To be fair, this crossover takes the bases of the scugs and critters, ignores alot of their campaigns and runs wild with them and how to fit them with these guys, so alot of them are picked more for abilities and cosmetic rather than their stories. Granted, this will still have some spoilers for the campaigns and/or their mechanics so avoid scugs with orange in case of RW spoilers

(also: I took some of your Soup family headcannons for Spooker. It was good Soup)

Time for the rest (o boy my fingers). Apologies if I miss any characters, I probably don't know they exist or how they fitted into the video's plot

P.I.E

Johnny Ghost (Hunter) - to the local colonies, Ghost is an enigma: He rarely eats yet never starves; he isn't pure white, instead a pale gray; he's isolated yet prickly; and he always disappeared every 20 cycles. Yet despite this, he and his little tightnit group are glued to the hip as they crawl into the dead iterator can they call home.

Johnny Toast (Nightcat) - yes I know Nightcat got scraped. Toast is practically Ghost's other half, meeting as pups and never leaving since. He has a knack for trouble, both getting in and causing it, so he has a great throwing arm, perfect for stunning the enemy and a hit with a spear

Spooker (Saint) - growing up with echos is not easy; worse when they tell you to take revenge. They're not all about that though, and choose the more 'peaceful' cycles for themselves. The time with their family hasn't left them however, which leaves tension at times within the group. After all, they're the only one who knows where Ghost goes...

Colin (Survivor) - the only normal scug in a 50 miles radius. How he's still with these guys after everything is a mystery but hey, Colin likes them and they like him back, so he stays. Plus they need someone with braincells.

Misc. Characters

Jimmy Casket (Rot/Spearmaster) - this changes depending on how you see Jimmy. If dead, he's the rot within Ghost, searching the wasteland for anything that moves, whenever it be pray, predator or friend. He only gets a cycle before he goes dormant. If alive, he's streaking though everything, stabbing like he's trying to get a high score. Those giggles are the last thing you hear before a spear is chucked at your throat.

Gavin Toast ("Survivor") - the twin who's more trouble than Johnny! He tries to hide his Nightcat abilities so he can sneak around better (Nightcat are rare in these lands) and that the Echos don't pay him too much notice, even if he can notice them. Don't put the twins in the same shelter: only one is coming out alive.

Maddie Friend (Monk) - despite her friendliness, Billy is fucking terrified of her, and often leads to him hiding underwater. It doesn't help that she can't seem to understand why he's scared, and comes around often, which only makes it worse. Maybe flowers will help?

Gregory Casket (Slugpup) - just a little guy before everything went to shit.

Cardboard Friend (???) - under the Scavenger mask and blunt quills leaves a terrifying mystery. Are they an echo or something worse? Why do they focus on slugpups? What happens to their victims? There's a reason no pups are found alone.

Mary Toast (Echo) - she's probably one of the few echoes that look more scug than echo. She's also possibly the only known echo that's mobile. She often wanders to places unknown now that she can with ease. She might come back to visit Toast again, but for now, she's just happy her late husband isn't drowning in misery.

Katrina (Echo) - same can't be said for Katrina. At first, she was angry at Ghost, wanting an apology, now she just wants an explanation. Why did he do it? Was it him or her that sparked it? Are you even sorry?

The Housekeeper (Iterator) - hidden deep in the can, hidden under overlapping pipes and rubble, is a still working iterator, Whispering Fates. Under his feet is the void sea, dug to by him. He calls for ones with his overseers, waiting. Never try to find him. You'll not come back the same.

My brain has been going Slugcat, so why not mash my current fixation and my revived fixation? Rain World × Talebr crossover!

I've currently only got the Achechalla Family down (butchered the name) so I might send another one for PIE and Misc. Characters

Papa (Gourmand) - chonk! Since his children have black hair, I'm assuming that his hair was black (before he went bald), so he's a black Gourmand.

Gertrude (Rivulet) - how a blue cat became orange and non of her children got her ginger, no-one knows.

Sally and Billy (Rivulet) - Fraternal Twins baby! Since they look near identical, it's easy to mix the two at a distance. Other than personality, the difference between them is the frills and eyes (Billy: Green eyes, lighter frills, Sally: Blue eyes, magenta frills)

Spencer (Artificer) - noone knows how he got here, but he keeps the scavengers and lizards out so he stays.

Freddie (Red lizard) - when Sally was just a slugpup, she had somehow managed to tame the most dangerous lizard without dieing and kept it a secret for cycles. They found him out when he followed her home, and got attacked by Spencer. He's now the family pet, and a great intimidation tool.

Maxwell (Echo) - he doesn't like how ascension screwed him over (read: someone screwed him over), so he looms over his descendants, waiting for one of them to get enough karma to hear him so he can... influence them to get them on the right path.

My YouTube recommended has been 110% Rainworld for all of May, but I’ve been trying to dodge spoilers so idk much about the actual cats and story (this is fine tho, i just won’t be able to add much ^^)

It’s interesting to see the family to be somewhat related here, minus Spencer and Sue ofc, and I do think it’s a little funny that they’re all axolotl cats but Papa. (For people who don’t know what Rivulets look like, they look like absolute baybes and I do see the Spencer in the artificer:)

Echoes are enemies with a vague connection to the slugpups that i don’t fully understand yet, so Maxwell being an Echo makes sense, it would also make sense if PIE’s job here was to put them out of their misery. I do however feel like this is incomplete without Sue, Freddio, and Hurricane, so I’m gonna try my hand at them!

Sue ( Saint ) - There are many things about Sue that make me lean to this one, with or without considering colors. For start, their world is one of the most dangerous to wake up in and instead of rain, it’s full of snow. That gets me because of her backstory: Sue’s original world was consumed by a nuclear winter. Saint is also the most frail character, and even with the tongue it doesn’t really… change that. Idk the whole thing but STILL.

Freddio ( Strawberry Lizard ) - Being the younger brother of Freddy, making them a different type of red-ish lizard would be cute to me. I know that Strawberry lizards only REALLY spawn in Saint’s campaign, but the legacy system thing MAY allow for it? Maybe? Idk. In canon Freddio is smaller than Freddy and somewhat more aggressive, so maybe it would make more sense if they swapped, but idk things.

Hurricane ( Giant Jellyfish ) - Giant Turtle? GIANT JELLYFISH! Slow-moving, not really a threat to Papa but otherwise deadly and especially prevalent to Sue… Just like canon!

one of my favorite things about the Shiny Happy People documentary is when one of the folks they interviewed called Michael Pearl a motherfucker. truer words have never been spoken, friends.

before we had my youngest daughter tested and realized she had autism alongside developmental delays, she was wild, lol. someone gave me a copy of Michael Pearl’s book To Train Up A Child. (lots of people thought we weren’t disciplining her enough for her excessive energy and lack of impulse control. because of course you should totally beat a toddler. that’s sarcasm, btw, folks) I still keep that book around to validate my decisions to say a giant fuck you to TTUAC and the Pearls. kids have died because of these idiot’s “guarantees” that any child’s strong will can be broken.

There’s a pause, during which Piers thinks Leon won’t say anything, but then Leon surprises him by speaking up. His voice is silent, barely audible in the still air around them. “I don’t sleep well before… before.”
