Tbf, they probably quit and started their own cults and now charge thousands of dollars to be part of it, and I honestly don't know what's worse.
#more or less personal experience#I live near the city of Tulum which we jokingly call Tulumimati#do to a bunch of white rich people who go there for 'ilumination'#and end up making their own little cults with new age bs#once a filmmaking friend told us that his team was hired to make a promo vid/documentary for a guy named Ben Way#who was this entrepeneur who even appeared in a shark tank-like reality show#but came to tulum and made a cult called the pryramid of light#through filming the guy had erratic behavior#was constantly on drugs#and got lost and reappeared naked in the highway three days later#last thing he knew he was hospitalized completely unconcious
