A long (spoilers included) review of Dunki.
Because I think I should just write it all out.
Starts with classic Hirani flavour. A main character on a wheelchair plotting an escape. And they succeed. Mannu runs away to meet her lawyer to ask about her visa condition. The answer is negative but she's desperate to be back home now. So comes the names of Hardy, a guy who she hasn't met in 25 years now.
Cue Hardayal Singh Dhillon, in all his greys and old age cramps running a race and also winning it but well a call from Mannu, who cares about a damn race. He answers no I'm not coming to get you and she smiles saying 'kand' ho gaya hai. And how can the 'Banda' refuse.
This was the introduction of a tale so simple, yet so real. Why do people leave their homes? The homes even with the poverty still has the warmth and love. But what could be more glaring than poverty for unemployed youth. Sometimes it's heartbreaking love, a love so powerful that people decide to end themselves instead of trying to survive through. That's Sukhi and Jassi's subplot, which only propels Hardy to decide on the donkey route, a decision that'll change all their lives forever.
And so starts the dunki, shown very aesthetically if I might say the horrors and the dangers. But you know your leads survive so you hold on. They wade underwater, scared and tired. They hide in freezers, cold. They walk through the desert among skeletons and evilness. Mannu has a cathartic experience here. And you wonder what exactly is the point of going through all this trouble without any guarantee. But they manage to reach their destination.
And now awaits another horror. Immigrants are looked down upon. They aren't humans in the eye of the citizens and don't get the dignity to live like humans either. Toiling through odd jobs, sending fake pictures to assure their families and to give them a better life is their only cause now. But Hardy doesn't have any of that. He's there for Mannu, so he starts the point of going back. But necessity is larger than lives for some people.
So they get caught and the rest seek asylum but Hardy can't lie, won't lie that it was his country that's unsafe for him. So he's sent back.
Fascinatingly dark that deported people get to travel safely back to the places they tried so hard to escape. It's along the same line as punishing people attempting suicide. This helps no-one.
Anyway 25 years pass offscreen. We get to know in passing that the families back home are doing well enough but our 3 asylum seekers are not getting the visa to return home. But trust Hardy, he can do it.
And Hardy does, with a bit of cunning and so much old man charm, the old man does it for his Mannu. But Mannu is dying. And ah well. What beats a tragic love story.
What beats a movie with so much heart and love and pain underlying the humour and constant laughter.
You just end up sitting a bit longer in the theatre and hoping to gather your thoughts because there's so much and yet there's this numbness. Is it because you saw the best movie, maybe. There's no best movie as per me honestly. Is it because this topic is way too real but so far from your reality that it shocks you a bit more. Is it because you love the man frontlining these moving images and you can see no fault.
Honestly I don't even want to conclude. If I could I would like to hug Sukhi right after the phone call, and Hardy after the court and at the terrace. But I'm guessing Hardy will be fine. Wo sambhal lega apne ko. Mannu I hope you had happy moments, even if they were the bare minimum.

Random Vedic Astrology Observations
Adele who is Ardra Rising and Lana Del Rey who is Ardra Sun both have a Paradise tattoo on the side of their hand
Tumblr media
This is very interesting symbolism because Ardra nakshatra is preceded by Mrigashira nak which follows the fall from Paradise.
2. Pisces natives 🤝🏼 sculptures
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
L to R
Rihanna- Revati Stellium (including Moon & Rising)
Ava Gardner- Ketu in (1 degree Pisces) Purvabhadrapada
Bella Hadid- Ketu in UBP
Rosie Huntington Whiteley- UBP Mercury & Rahu, Mars in Purvabhadrapada (0 degrees Pisces) and Jupiter in Revati atmakaraka
Jin- UBP Moon
Isabelle Adjani- Revati Rising
Salma Hayek- UBP Moon
3. Jyeshtas really love jewellery
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vidya Balan- Mercury in Jyeshta (atmakaraka)
Rekha- Jyeshta Rising
Kim Kardashian- Jyeshta Rising
Nicki Minaj- Jyeshta Sun
4. I'd earlier made an observation about how Mars influenced men tend to go after older women and I thought I'd add a few more examples to that list!!
Tumblr media
Sachin Tendulkar & Anjali Tendulkar have an age gap of 6 years and their wedding was hugely controversial when it took place in the 90s. Sachin was only 22 when he got married.
Sachin has Mars in Dhanishta atmakaraka and Moon in Purvashada amatyakaraka
Tumblr media
Shikhar Dhawan and his ex-wife Ayesha Mukerji have an age gap of 10 years.
Shikhar is Dhanishta Rising, Mars in Chitra atmakaraka with Purvaphalguni Moon
Tumblr media
Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora have an age gap of 12 years
He is most likely Chitra Rising
He also has Venus (amatyakaraka) conjunct Rahu in Bharani
I know that Bharani is Venus ruled but Bharani is the confluence of Mars & Venus energies and is ruled by the Mars ruled Aries and is another nakshatra that commonly appears in the charts of men drawn to older women
Tumblr media
Aditya Pancholi is 6 years younger than his wife Zarina Wahab
He has Sun in Purva Ashadha, Venus amatyakaraka (in Jyeshta) Jupiter in Bharani and Rahu in Mrigashira
Tumblr media
Karan Singh Grover is 6 years younger than Bipasha Basu
He has Moon in Dhanishta, Mars (amatyakaraka) conjunct Saturn (atmakaraka) in Chitra with Ketu in Purva Ashada
Tumblr media
Vicky Kaushal is 5 years younger than Katrina Kaif
He has Venus in Mrigashira, Mars in Dhanishta, Jupiter (amatyakaraka) in Bharani, Ketu in Purva phalguni
Tumblr media
Farhan Akhtar and his first wife, Adhuna Akhtar have an age gap of 7 years.
Farhan has Sun (atmakaraka) conjunct Mercury (amatyakaraka) in Purva Ashada and Saturn conjunct Ketu in Mrigashira
5.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
idk if im crazy but i think these 2 women have similar features 😭😭
Zhou Xun is Chitra Sun, Anuradha Moon, Swati Mercury, Chitra Venus & Mars
Ning Ning is Chitra Sun, Bharani Moon, Swati Venus and Ketu in Anuradha
6. Rihanna has a tattoo of Goddess Isis on her chest
Tumblr media
Rihanna is Revati Moon and Goddess Isis had powers like love, healing, fertility, protection, wisdom and magic. By virtue of her magical knowledge, she was said to be "more clever than a million gods". Revati nakshatra natives are endowed with divine spiritual wisdom and the deity of Revati, Pushan is the Sun-god in the form of Divine Guide and Nourisher, who helps us to find the right path and leads us to the right solutions.
Revati represents wisdom, empathy, unconditional love, fertility, growth, prosperity & spirituality.
7. Harry Houdini was a Hungarian-American escape artist, illusionist, and stunt performer, noted for his escape acts.
Tumblr media
He has UBP Sun, Mrigashira Moon, Venus in Revati (exalted) and Ketu in Swati with Shravana Rising
Swati is connected to Maya or illusion so it makes sense as to why someone who has Ketu placed there would become notorious for hoodwinking the public.
Mrigashira nakshatra involves HEAVY themes of running away, escape and being trapped AND finding a way out. If you look at the mythology, its about Brahma's favourite daughter who takes the form of a deer to leave the heavens and run away to the earth to escape her father's sexual advances towards her.
Pisces rashi is almost always present in the charts of magicians or people who have some kind of illusory appeal on the public. Most mega successful celebrities have prominent Pisces placements, most supremely talented actors and singers do. The ability to put yourself out there yet remain completely mysterious and keep people under a veil is a uniquely Piscean trait.
Obviously with that Shravana Asc, he was basically born for this job. Moon dominant people are ADEPT at manipulation and making black seem like white or vice versa.
Dua Lipa recently released a song titled Houdini and she's Punarvasu Moon which I think is another nakshatra that is good at casting illusions.

Hey!! It's me again. I'm pretty sure I'm becoming an annoyance at this point with how much shit I send you.
Speaking of shit🤣
(i swear on satoru's baby blues that this isn't sad)
https://youtube.com/shorts/7epVj4UcqTo?si=s9ce7J9yjhO5cU2S
The song playing is called tauba tauba. And women in India (and some men I'm sure) are going crazy seeing the hook step in the video. And because the main dancer (Vicky Kaushal) is very attractive.
The lyrics say "hussan Tera tauba tauba"
Translation: your beauty is mesmerizing (roughly)
Soooooo someone edited Gojo's face on it 🤣
https://www.instagram.com/reel/C9glFS5owP-/?igsh=NzVpem42ZG13eTdh
I swear Indian weebs are hilarious 🤣
WHICH MADE ME THINK AS IM WRITING THIS?
Who do you think has got moves in the jjk universe? Like in physical paradox and another level? Like do they dance? Do they know how? How would rinko react to gojo dancing like this 🤣
Oh gosh 😂😂 btw you’re not an annoyance never call yourself that!!!
WHO HAS THE MOVES, YOU ASK??
Tumblr media
The Lost in Paradise ending really did things to me. I like to imagine that if Rinko were in this ending, she’d have been groovin’ and maybe Gojo would twirl her around a bit. It would have been adorable, tbh.
In Physical Paradox, I’ve written Gojo a bit more reserved, so I think he still has some moves but has to feel comfortable enough in his environment, or the people he’s with, to dance.
How would Rinko react to Gojo dancing like in the video? 🤔 she’d think he was ridiculous but she wouldn’t be surprised that he’s good at it and that he’s super hot. She’d probably drool a bit but would definitely deny it.
Also, I’m so sorry that I took so long to answer this that the links no longer work 😭😭😭

I am one of those people who watch movies critically but this so called cinephile syndrome leaves whenever SRK performs on the big screen.
Dunki emotionally hits you. A Rajkumar Hirani + Srk combo is expected to be exceptional. Although it is a great movie, it could have been better.
We always expect the best from the Best.
The cast did a wonderful job. Vicky Kaushal was so on point. Srk + Boman Irani jodi was something I was looking forward to and they didnt dissappoint. The reunion of Srk and Tapsee was giving full VeerZaara wali vibes.
Ab jao jake movie dekho, kyuki, "I am the Last of the Stars"

I didn't feel like making this post to Letterboxd. In December of last year, I met the ICONIC Anurag Kashyap along with the actors of film he'd come to promote at IIT Bombay for Moodi. The film was obviously Almost Pyaar. The culture surrounding the film was woven through 7 years of finding its footing through financing, pre-production and shooting. The music as much as the film fails to grasp the roots of Gen Z media. Maybe the film is made for the masses, but this isn't a Gen Z film by any standards.
Gen Z here has been portrayed as the shallowest form with no personality beyond the grasp of social media. I don't know, maybe it is that Alaya F plays a minor in both iterations of her role which shows her shallow nature due to her immaturity. The bits where they tried to show her true nature against her own characterization fell short because they felt like an afterthought. I don't remember what either of Karan's characters are called but I remember asking myself whether I relate to him on any level being a Gen Z man. The answer was a resounding No. I don't relate to any of the characters in either timeline. The most interesting character DJ Mohabbat brilliantly played by Vicky Kaushal wasn't in any of the promotions or material till the release. Only Kaushal felt like the only actor in this film who was trying to make do with what he got.
I feel like Kashyap with this film was trying to understand a generation that he clearly hasn't been able to. Maybe it's the young people of today who are to be blamed for this heinous film. But I'd say Kashyap's lack of form in recent years - trying to make films for a new generation might be another of the reasons he isn't able to work out a proper strategy.
Anurag, I know you're never gonna see this. But if you do, check your Instagram dms. I asked you out to movie date. Pls response -><- thanks for reading.

Anushka Sharma recounts when neighbours Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal invited her and Virat Kohli for dinner
Tumblr media
The actress dislikes parties. Anushka likes to cook dinner for a few close pals. Katrina Kaif and her husband, actor Vicky Kaushal, invited Anushka and her husband, cricketer Virat Kohli, to their home for dinner.
Anushka and Virat live near Katrina and Vicky Kaushal, who married in December 2021. When Katrina and Vicky asked her and Virat over, Anushka told Katrina that supper is at 6:00. The actor said Katrina joked about nibbling as Anushka and Virat ate.
Anushka told Grazia India, “Katrina and Vicky have welcomed us to their place, but we have dinner at six and go to bed at nine thirty. I told Katrina Kaif we would eat for you between 7 and 7:30 p.m., but we had to go. So mum agreed that you will eat supper while Vicky and I snack.”
Anushka said that Shah Rukh Khan, like Katrina, recognises her "awkwardness" and no longer invites her to his events since she no longer enjoys noisy, rowdy gatherings. In the same interview, she said of Katrina and Shah Rukh, “The two of them actually recognise that I'm socially uncomfortable, and they welcome me as such. That's kindest.” Anushka, Katrina, and Shah Rukh starred in Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Zero, Anushka's last big role. She has a cameo in Netflix's Qala (2022). Ghodey Pe Sawaar featured her. Anushka's first project after Vamika's birth is Chakda Xpress. Based on cricketer Jhulan Goswami's life.

Dunki has been watched and I'm still under the haze.
How do you review a movie when you've gone beyond a common audience and start adoring the actor beyond the screen?
If I could still, it's a wholesome movie. There's no loose end to tie up at the end. It's a story that starts and ends, has been a long time since that happened for sure, with universes and sequels and what not.
So anyway, if you want to laugh at the silly jokes, which work btw, go watch Dunki.
If you want to see srk simp over a lady who stands on her own, go watch Dunki.
If you want to see a sad love story, go watch Dunki.
If you want to be amazed yet again by Vicky Kaushal, go watch Dunki.
I'll talk more later for sure, I'd have to gather myself for that.

Chhavva Movie Review: A Sneak Peek into 2025’s Most Anticipated Historical Drama
The excitement is building as we eagerly await the Chhavva movie review season to begin. With its theatrical release scheduled for February 2025, cinephiles and history enthusiasts alike are already buzzing about what promises to be one of the most significant historical dramas of the year. Early Chhavva movie review predictions suggest that this epic tale of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj could set new benchmarks in Indian cinema.
Star Power and Historical Authenticity
Initial Chhavva movie review discussions are centered around Vicky Kaushal’s transformation into Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Following his acclaimed performance in Sam Bahadur, anticipatory Chhavva movie review commentaries highlight how Kaushal’s dedication to historical accuracy could make this role another milestone in his career. The actor’s commitment to authenticity has already become a talking point in preliminary Chhavva movie review circles.
The supporting cast has also generated significant interest in early Chhavva movie review conversations. Akshaye Khanna’s surprise inclusion has been particularly noteworthy, with industry insiders suggesting his performance could be a major highlight when the first official Chhavva movie review articles start pouring in. Rashmika Mandanna’s portrayal of Yesubai Bhonsale is another aspect that upcoming Chhavva movie review pieces are eager to analyze.
Director’s Vision and Historical Authenticity
Director Laxman Utekar’s approach to the film has become a central point in preliminary Chhavva movie review discussions. Known for successful films like Mimi and Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, Utekar brings a unique perspective to historical storytelling. When asked about the challenges of creating a period drama, his response has already sparked interest in upcoming Chhavva movie review circles: “If your research is thorough, if your pre-production is solid, and as a director, you have a deep understanding of the era and the characters, then it becomes quite easy. Without that knowledge, it can be very difficult.”
What makes early Chhavva movie review conversations particularly intriguing is Utekar’s commitment to historical accuracy. Addressing the common criticism of creative liberties in period dramas, he noted, “The audience is never wrong. If you’re portraying a warrior and a queen, and you insert a romantic song, people may question it — wondering how these figures, who spent their entire lives fighting for the country, could have had time for romance.” This dedication to authenticity suggests that when the first Chhavva movie review articles emerge, they will likely praise the film’s historical integrity.
Production Excellence
Based on behind-the-scenes insights, potential Chhavva movie review experts are already praising the film’s attention to detail. Director Laxman Utekar’s year-long research, spanning ancient cities from Aurangabad to Paithan, suggests that when the Chhavva movie review embargo lifts, audiences will witness an unprecedented level of historical accuracy.
The musical score by A.R. Rahman is another element that preliminary Chhavva movie review discussions are highlighting. With lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya, expectations are high that the soundtrack will enhance the epic narrative, potentially becoming a significant talking point in future Chhavva movie review analyses.
Historical Significance
As anticipatory Chhavva movie review pieces note, the film is based on Shivaji Sawant’s acclaimed Marathi book. This literary connection has already sparked discussions in pre-release Chhavva movie review forums about how faithfully the adaptation will handle its source material. The extensive research undertaken by the production team suggests that upcoming Chhavva movie review verdicts will likely praise its historical authenticity.

Technical Brilliance
Early production stills and teasers have already set high expectations for when the first Chhavva movie review articles emerge. The cinematography and production design, captured across various historical locations, suggest that technical excellence will be a major highlight in future Chhavva movie review discussions.
The extensive pre-production period, which began in April 2023, indicates that when Chhavva movie review coverage begins, audiences will experience a meticulously crafted period drama. The filming process, which wrapped in May 2024, has already generated significant buzz in preliminary Chhavva movie review conversations.
Looking Ahead
As we await the first official Chhavva movie review publications in early 2025, excitement continues to build. The combination of stellar cast, proven director, and compelling historical narrative suggests that when Chhavva movie review verdicts start coming in, they will likely celebrate a significant achievement in Indian cinema.
Until then, movie enthusiasts can join the vibrant quiz community on Fanizm.com, where daily quizzes and trivia challenges keep the excitement alive. Zara Hatke Zara Bachke Film Review
Tumblr media
Will do anything for the house in film!
Tumblr media
Image of Vicky Kaushal lead in the reviewed film Plot: This film is about a married couple who want to buy their own home, but it is prohibitively expensive, so they wander around looking for a cheaper option. Because they do not want to live with their family, which includes parents, uncles, and aunts, the house is small, they lack privacy, and they must compromise and live with their family. They take a significant risk by separating and divorcing in order to purchase a home. So, will they both be able to buy their own home? Will their relationship continue until then? Will they be able to marry again? To answer all of these questions, you'll need to watch the film. Tone and Theme: The tone of this film is romantic comedy, and the theme is Sacrifice and Compromise. The goal of making this film is to convey a message in addition to entertainment that home is not everything. A home can be as small as it wants, but it is made with loved ones and family members, and a husband and wife's relationship is connected by an emotional thread rather than a house. Vicky Kaushal's performance as Kapil is decent. He has done an excellent job portraying a middle-class family and a miser. His character was not particularly strong. As a result, he missed out on an opportunity to do something special. Sara Ali Khan's performance as Saumya is also average, but her comedic timing is exceptional. Some of her scenes appear to be played to perfection. The supporting cast includes Akash Khurana, Anubha Fatehpura, Rakesh Bedi, Sushmita Mukherjee, Neeraj Sood, and Kanupriya Pandit, all of whom contribute to the film's plot. Laxman Utekar, the film's director, came to Hindi cinema from Marathi cinema, where he directed Tapaal (2014) and Lalbaugchi Rani (2016). Luka Chuppi (2019), which he directed, was a success. He is also a successful cinematographer; his direction in this is nothing special; it is weaker than his previous films; the type of films he has directed not seen in this film; it feels like we are watching a film by a very weak director; at times, it feels like the film is being dragged. The screenplay, written by Maitrey Bajpai, Ramiz Ilham Khan, and Laxman Utekar, is weak, and the dialogue is also average. Sandeep Shirodkar's background score falls below average. The Sound design by Nihar Ranjan Samal is nothing special. Costume design by Sheetal Sharma is also acceptable. Editing: Manish Pradhan's editing is poor, and the film feels stretched like rubber. The cinematography by Raghav Ramdoss is good. Production Design: Subrata Chakraborty and Amit Ray's production design is acceptable. Music: Sachin-Jigar's music is excellent, with two standout songs being Phir Aur Kya Chahiye and Tere Vaaste Achhe have made it good. Choreography: Ganesh Acharya, Vijay Ganguly, Ruel Dausan Varandani's choreography is exceptional. Ganesh Acharya's contribution to the song Tere Vaaste is particularly noteworthy. Climax: The climax can be described as okay. Opinion: Today's youth can see this film once. Fact: The fight scene between the two is extremely well done. 69th Filmfare Award Nominations: This film received nominations for Best Music Director, Best Male Playback Singer, Best Choreographer, and Best Lyricist, and it won one award for Best Lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya's (Tere Vaaste) song. CBFC-U/A Movietime: 2 hours and 12 minutes Genre: Romantic Comedy Backdrop: Indore Release: 2023 The cast includes Vicky Kaushal, Sara Ali Khan, Akash Khurana, Anubha Fatehpura, Rakesh Bedi, Sushmita Mukherjee, Neeraj Sood, and Kanupriya Pandit. Producers: Dinesh Vijan and Jyoti Deshpande. Director: Laxman Utekar; Sound Designer: Nihar Ranjan Samal. Sheetal Sharma designed the costumes, Sachin-Jigar composed the music, Sandeep Shirodkar composed the background score, and Subrata Chakraborty and Amit Ray designed the production. Editor: Manish Pradhan, Cinematography: Raghav Ramadoss, Choreography: Ganesh Acharya, Vijay Ganguly, and Ruel Dausan Varandani.
