Hey! I hope its alright im asking anonymous, you're kinda my idol so im a little shy sorry :,)

Anyways my question would be a kinda commonly asked one but i would like to hear your advice on "How to find your artstyle?" Your artsyle is truly AMAZING and unique to me and inspired me a lot so i thought i would ask you this. I'll stop writting now cause its getting long 😅

(One last thing: You're the best and keep doing the amazing work you do cause im obsessed with it and its truly amazing and have a pawsome day/night!!)

Okok so here's the things with artstyles; it's literally just doing what ya want!! You don't need to have a specific one!!

So for mines, it's literally just been me picking things up over the years. I got my start through drawing my little pony, and that still shows through how I draw eyes tbh ;^^ and as you can imagine, over the past few years the hellaverse has had a massive impact on how I draw!!

If you like how an artist does something?? Try and analyse how/why they do that; I grew up watching speedpaints on youtube and taking into account just how people did things, for example if they colour picked for their rendering or if they used layer settings etc!!

Having one artstyle can honestly be really restrictive though, which is why I honestly don't believe you should focus on having one specific style if that makes sense??

These pieces are all by me, but all have different rendering styles!! The first one is significantly more recognisable imo as my style since cell shading is generally what I do, however when I'm feeling particularly art blocked I'll sometimes go for a more paint-like style ✨

A really close friend of mine (who gets referred to as my husband lol) can do so many different styles, yet his art is extremely recognisable on sight to me every time somehow and I'm forever in awe lmao 😭 his art account is @/draconicdeityarts if you want to check out his stuff, cool af

Genuinely my greatest piece of advice? Just have fun and don't be afraid to try new things ;v; trying to put yourself in a box of "it needs to be in this style" will stunt your growth in my experience!! And over time you'll find the things that make your style yours because, generally, they're the part you enjoy doing the most, which can only be found out by experimenting!! My favourite part is rendering and I feel that shows, but the reason I love it so much is because I'm regularly experimenting still with how I do it rather than sticking to one way!!

I hope this helped at all, just remember that art is for fun, and trust me when I say that your art will always have its ways of being recognisable as yours regardless of if you have one style or 20 different ones 💖

But I can share the Rayleigh x Quill one since it's merely suggestive xD 😇❤️ (And a Kid x Quill that I am pretty sure was the first thing I comm'd from Yami when I was still hesitant to throw my smutty ideas at someone)

Today I go an adorable piece by @aholepeach (who is that on bluesky and a_hole_peach on Twit). He pulled me in with his comics, and I love the kind of grimy soft vibe of his art.

(It's beautiful and skrunky - it has a weight to it that's present both in the body and the emotions, and I just really love it.)

@magnuspool also helped me out back before I even knew Quill was going to be named Quill. I had naught to give this art goddess by a handful of words and a very very smol idea.

I love everything about Mags, and the amount of nervousness I had approaching her for art would probably surprise a lot of you. She's super cool though, and a delight to work with. If you catch her comms open, don't be shy!

Polizon from twitter did a really great job with the composition on the request I had - aside from some direction on Quill I didn't provide any other references ^_^

I just love that they're both very much capable fighters AND researchers. (What can I say, Fullmetal Alchemist was one of my first absolute favorite animes and you have to train the body AND mind.)

Last, but by no means least, is @stevienix - who took a waist up Pic crew for reference and gave me a nice full body for Quill ^_^ (I cannot overstate how much I need those boots in my life.)

She's an IRL friend, we've broke bread together so show her some love, and be nice while you're there too.

Law x G!Reader / SFW  / 1.4k Summary: The captain really didn't want you to find out, but find out you did.

That he liked... romance manga?

You tried the handle to the captain’s door first.

Everyone knew that Law didn’t like to be interrupted so he frequently locked the door. You’d have to knock to see if he’d let you in. If not—unless it was an emergency—then it was best to try again later.

Finding it unlocked, you walked inside, already talking.

“Captain, I got the map for the next island, and I was wondering if—” You looked up and cut yourself off at the look of pure horror on Law’s face.

He was holding a manga in between long, skinny fingers, the cover bright pink and—despite the fact that you didn’t read them—it would be hard to miss the figures on the front that just screamed ‘romance’.

There was a pregnant pause.

“Should I come back later or…”

“Lock the door,” Law ordered, voice like steel. You swallowed and did as he said. Slowly, he put down the book and motioned you closer.

Feeling trepidation drip down your spine, you did so. Law’s gold eyes burned into you. Though they were normally serious, right now they were intense.

Coming before his desk, you fidgeted. “Captain?”

He said your name and you straightened. “I want you to listen to me very carefully, no one is to hear about this. Am I understood? No one. If I hear anyone snickering around the hallways about this, I will have you removed.”

You nodded quickly. “Yessir! It won’t happen, I’ll keep it to myself!”

“Dismissed.”

Quickly you headed for the door, just as you were opening it to make your escape, you paused and then looked over your shoulder. There seemed to be a faint blush across your captain’s face but it could have just been the light. “Say… even though I won’t mention it to anyone, I also don’t think it’s a big deal? You can like what you like.” You shrugged. “Shouldn’t matter what anyone else thinks, right? C’ya later, captain!”

You ducked out of the room before he could reply; heart hammering in your chest as you sped away. 

At the next island, Law grabbed you before you could head out with your friends, a hand tightly gripping your inner arm and dragging you away. Everyone watched you go with confused expressions and you whimpered in terror, reaching out for them.

Everyone knew that the captain didn’t go out into town except with a few shipmates—those who had been on the sub the longest and that most definitely didn’t include you.

“W-what’s up?” you asked when he’d led you far enough to be out of earshot of the crew.

“Wanted to show you something,” he muttered under his breath and didn’t elaborate any further.

Finally, he stopped outside of a bookstore, and you barely got to glance at the display before he escorted you inside. His shoulders were hunched over as if he didn’t want to be seen as he silently led you to a corner.

Manga lined the walls there, but it was clear where the romance section started, the covers all bright and colorful. He eyed the shelves before pulling one down.

“Did you mean what you said the other day, y/n-ya?” he asked.

You nodded. “Yeah of course!”

“Then maybe you can do me a favor…?” he trailed off meaningfully.

“Sure!” You didn’t know what it was, but you figured it couldn’t be that bad, right?

He held up the manga book in front of him. “I’m collecting these, but I’m missing volumes. Would you help me?”

You stared at the cover, some dude leaning against the wall while a girl blushed as they stared at each other. It took a moment for the request to permeate. “Uh… what?”

“Check if bookstores have them when we stop at an island. I’d pay you, for the cost and the time of course.”

“And why not… do it yourself?”

Law shifted, looking slightly uneasy. “It’s embarrassing,” he confessed at last. “You’re a girl, it wouldn’t be as weird if you’re buying them.”

You opened your mouth to argue, already offended by the statement before he held up a hand. “Y/n-ya, I literally have ‘death’ tattooed across my knuckles.” Your lips twisted into a frown and you crossed your arms.

“So what! You like a girly series, who cares?”

He made his own displeased face at your phrasing. “I have a certain… reputation.” You tapped your foot, unimpressed. Law sighed. “Look, I’d appreciate it, okay? It’s just uncomfortable for me. When people find out, they normally laugh and crack jokes. You were the first person who… didn’t.”

Immediately, your irritation melted away and you heaved your own sigh, unfolding your arms. “Alright, alright, fine. I’ll do.”

You watched as Law didn’t quite smile but his lips definitely quirked up. Your heart skipped a beat at the sight; it was rare to see the captain content, let alone happy, especially by something that you had caused.

“Thank you,” he said solemnly.

Which was how you found yourself as a sort of delivery bird. On each island you came to, you went hunting for Shoreleave Passion! much to the amusement of your friends. You didn't explain, besides saying that someone showed it to you, and you liked it enough to keep reading.

Which wasn’t entirely untrue. Apparently, Law figured that you doing his deliveries also meant he now had someone to confide in. So you were up-to-date on the series, despite never reading it (which came in handy whenever someone decided to ask what it was about) but you also got to hear Law’s personal theories and headcanons.

They were… numerous and long. The two of you were spending a fair amount of time together. More than one person had asked if you were dating, as Law met you for dinner or lunch to exchange the book, and then, since you were there already, ate and hung out together or he would pull you into his office for hours-long rundowns of the latest volume.

It was nice though. You found that you didn’t mind. You got to watch as Law’s face lit up in a way you had never seen before and, if you were honest with yourself, all the sudden one-on-one time had you harboring a rather large crush on your captain. But really, who could blame you? Even before you had started spending time with the man, you had thought he was attractive, so getting to know him on a personal level made it far, far too easy to start to like him.

While you were musing walking through the Polar Tang a hand unexpectedly covered your mouth and your eyes widened as you were dragged into a closet, your scream muffled.

“Y/n-ya, calm down, it’s just me,” Law reprimanded, as he held you against his chest until you relaxed. Once he relaxed his grip, you spun around and smacked him in the chest.

“What was that for!” you hissed, and he shushed you.

“People can be walking down this way, keep your voice down.”

You glared at him, and Law cleared his throat, suddenly looking a bit sheepish.

“I heard that the final volume is on the island. At a specific store.” He gave you the directions, and you nodded along, eyes maybe a tad too focused on the curve of his mouth as he spoke. “I also wanted to… thank you, for doing all of this for me.”

That snapped you out of it and your eyes shot up to meet his.

Law held your gaze. “It’s been… nice,” he said slowly. You blinked back. Were the two of you closer? When did that happen? Unconsciously, you licked your lips and watched as his gold eyes tracked the movement.

Butterflies started battering at the sides of your stomach. Law reached out and ran his fingers across your cheekbone, making you fight down a shiver.

“What could I possibly do to thank you for all you've done?” Law went on, his breath ghosting against your lips as he leaned towards you.

You swallowed. “It’s no problem…” Your eyelids fluttered closed at his close proximity, hope beating an erratic tempo in your chest.

When his lips brushed yours, it felt like you could have soared as you gasped and reached out blindly for him, hands burrowing into his shirt.

It was a simple kiss, just your lips pressed together so sweetly that you swore you tasted sugar when he pulled away. You licked your lips again and chuckled weakly.

“Wow,” you said with amazement.

Law smirked. “Was that okay?”

“More than okay,” you confirmed, tugging on his shirt to get him to lean back down. “Kiss me again."

As of writing this, our custom base UT engine is almost complete! We only need to work on a few thing regarding the battle & overworld system. After that we will start implementing some changes such as adding out reworked magic system and a few new special changes.

Then we'll get to work on rooms, tilesets, and backgrounds!

We only have a small amount of OSTs at the moment, but were trying to chip away at at it step by step! We don't want to overwhelm anybody here since most of the team have their own projects they have to work on as well.

[ Writing ]

As of now the demo as been fully written out! With the addition to new team members and the director reaching out to different writers in and out of the community, the game has under go some major rewrites which were heavily needed. The rest of the game has been perfectly outlined and I'm currently halfway through the Geno/No Mercy script for the Snowden section. However, writing for the rest of the Ruins after the demo on pacifist and neutral runs is still a work in progress

The plan is to work on neutral scripts after Pacifist and Geno scripts are done. Just to make things a little easier on the teams main writer (Skill issue we know lol). Also, I am glad to say that all of UTBBs main cast as been fully made! Yes we still need to work on their section/area script but like I said before, those have been neatly outlined.

Social Change

As you may have noticed, UTBB has been freely promoting other projects and as been collaborating with other creators. While we are still participating in these collabs we have decided to take a step back in promoting other creators/project. In all honesty, that wasn't supposed to happen. You see, out director is really proud of the following he and this project has gained, and thought that he was "popular" enough to promote lesser known projects or projects just starting out in development. And as you can see he's been promoting a lot of projects. More so it's starting to feel like that's all he's doing publicly and fears that it may be a bit to much.

So with that being said, we will be taking a step back from the promotion of other projects after this dev log. However! We will leave a list (now) of projects that Reed planned to promote but never had the time until now and won't be put up in promotion ever again (unless super big news comes out like the demo/full release or it being cancelled).

Getting this out of the way: I do not care about Alesha, so if you were coming here ready to hear anything about the first-ever transgender girl out of Magic*, sorry to disappoint.

Actually, yeah, I’m gonna talk about this for a little bit. I understand Alesha means a lot to some people, and I’m not saying they’re wrong to feel that way. I’m sure there are people who had to fight to make Alesha openly & canonically trans, and I’m not saying that this was meaningless, wasted effort. It’s nice to be able to point to someone and say, see, there’s a place for people like me here. I was excited about it at the time and I wasn’t even into Magic back then.

But like c’mon, y’all, she’s not really a character, right? She gets one story, the thrust of which is, “this character is trans, and that’s basically fine.” Alesha exists to be part of the banner image of the internal WotC LGBT employees’ monthly newsletter. She exists to be the discord avatar for every third trans girl into Magic. She exists so a massive corporation can point to her as evidence that they care in some nebulous way about trans people, and she costs slightly less than paying someone to, say, actually moderate the hate speech comments on their vids of Autumn Burchett’s pro tour games.

All of which is to say, they don’t actually care. You know this. Individual staff, writers, artists - sure, but they’re not the ones who make the final decisions. And you and I deserve better from our stories, and we’re never going to get that from fucking Hasbro, right?

So here’s my pitch: seek out actual queer stories, and I’m not talking about contemporary YA shit with a marketing budget. For readers of this specific blog I’d recommend looking up “Attack Helicopter” by Isabel Fall (you should still be able to find it online). Stories where the texture and structure of thought are queer and trans are revelatory. You don’t need to beg for crumbs from a megacorp’s table.

I’ve come to think of the current era of MtG art (let’s arbitrarily say from Kaladesh block to the present) as the “Magali Villeneuve era”, and if I’m being totally honest, I kind of hate it. Everything is technically competent, clearly lit, and immaculately detailed. Everyone has amazing cheekbones. It is so, so boring. I’m not at all saying she’s a bad artist! Sometimes, as with Kaldheim, she is very nearly the only person in a set making good art. I’ve featured her work on here many, many times.

What I am saying is that her work always has this, like, objectivity to it that feels detached and even alienating, like we’re looking at these characters through a powerful telescope. There’s no stylization, and dare I say no style.

The reason I bring her up in a set in which I will not be reviewing her work (sorry, Narset fans), is that Steve Argyle makes for an interesting comparison. They are to my untrained eye very similar artists: the sharp linework, the combination of dynamics and detachment. The major difference is that Steve’s art is substantially hornier and substantially male-gazier.

And goddammit, at least that’s something.

I’m not sure why Viktor made this orc look like a ripped lizard man. None of the other orcs in this block look like this. Maybe he thought “krumar” was a species of lizard folk, when in point of fact a krumar is, checks notes, an orphan of the Mardu raised by the Abzan who killed their parents in a twist of worldbuilding regrettably reminiscent of a strategy used in real-world genocides. Whoops!

I did the mantis bit in my Battle for Zendikar post, but I thought I’d actually dig into what the appeal is here: raptorial forelimbs. He still doesn't understand- I mean he understands that the fact that you are trans which means your body is not exactly your favorite part of yourself due to the lack of matching you identified gender but he does not understand the depth of upset-ness his boyfriend feels- but like I said he tries his best

So S/O would have to try and explain it 2D

And in the end 2D does understand more but he still doesn't fully grasp everything so 2D turns to google for answers

When 2D woke up at night again from his migraines and couldn't go back to sleep he decides this is the best time to do his research... at 2:00 AM, so 2D goes on insomnia fulled google spree

And my dear fucking lord satan does he go down a rabbit hole

2D can hardly process half the shit he reads

And by the end of it his head is spinning and he's so fucking exhausted

But at least he grasped some stuff and understands even more now, and he knows what he should do!

But first he needs a little nap he earned it

When he wakes up the the first thing he can remember it binders- so his scowers the internet and orders everyone he sees- good and bad quality, I mean its not like 2D's reading the reviews he's just ordering ever single one he stumbles upon

Then he goes to the store and buys even more

It's moments like this he's glad he remembers he's got a shit ton of money

And one day when S/O comes over to vist 2D- 2D tells his boyfriend to stand there for a second

"Hun- do'ya mind stand'en dere fer sec"

He giggles to himself as he runs in the other room, leaving S/O concerned and confused

Next thing you know- your on the floor after what feels like who knows how many binders have been flug/dumped on you

It takes a silent minute for 2D to process that you may be stuck

In which 2D freaks and digs S/O and explains to him that he was trying to my S/O feel better- which touched S/O that 2D cared this much about him

And then S/O had to explain that he didn't need this many binders

So the two of you spent the next two hours picking out what binders work best

S/O was modeling each one- and figured out which one fit best(because 2D didn't really check sizes either), and were as comfortable as possible

And the whole time 2D was praiseing and tell S/O he looked amazing

After S/O picked thw ones he liked, both decided to donate the remaining binders

Its was really sweet of of him

But either way 2D will in any way possible try and make S/O feel better about himself

2D is just as physically affectionate with his S/O in this as as he would be in any other

Though he can get a bit anxious about touching S/O since his dysphoria was body baised- and was scared of triggering a bad reaction

2D has a big thing for words of affirmation, but due to S/O's body baised gender dysphoria- he tends to praise his boyfriends body spisificly, and it's very obvious what he's trying to do when he says it

"Ya' know I' didn't tink I could be attracted to someones frame... iz... broad.... and manly..."

"Your face is soooo handsome-- oh!.... an' guy-ish..."

It's not like he's lieing he's just kinda shit at subtly tell his boyfriend about it

Either way- while he can be a bit ignorant at first he tried his damn best

Murdoc

Ok before we can start we need talk about transgender stuff in general and Murdoc did that make sense?

In the 2D x Male S/O x Murdoc, 2D x Male S/O, and Murdoc x Male S/O I had briefly mentioned Murdocs dad being homophobic- well that doesn't even scratch the surface of Sebastian's asshole-lery

Sebastian was a dick queer/LGBTQIA+ people, not like "FUCK THE GAYS- THEIR DELUSIONAL" more like "I talk a bit of shit about queer people behind peoples back, don't be like them son" -ish way

In which he instilled those trashy views on Murdoc as a kid, as when I said 'talk shit behind people I meant he "talked" about it to Hannibal and Murdoc, and randos he hung out with at the bar(I might do a separate thing in the future on how I think murdocs childhood went down, and what kind of person Sebastion was, cuz theres A LOT I could say)

And due to his fathers ways being imprinted in his head as a kid, Kid/Teen Mudz was not exactly found of queer/LGBTQIA+ people in general either

Well it's not like society liked them at that time either: Murdocs year of birth 1966, The year Britain legalized gay marriage 2014

So at that time no one was exactly fond of them

But either way Kid/Teen Murdoc fond of them either

And because of his wasn't fond of them- Murdoc Bullied/teased any one of the queer/LGBTQIA+ community... like a lot... yeah lets just say his sense of humor wasn't exactly nice..

These actions and old views still haunt him to this day

Russel's the only one who knows the full extent of his behavior as a kid because while drunk Murdoc confessed this to him, and 2D over heard a bit- but was swiftly bunbarded by Murdoc once he noticed 2D, Mudz begged them to not tell Noodle

And most of this shit is internalized so if you can't rip open Mudz chest with your love and affection- then good luck getting a straight answer from him

This guilt didn't bother him as much in earlier phases(before plastuc beach).... though thats not saying much

But when the later phases arrived he started drinking tiny bit less, which made memories resurface.... and my god he felt guilty

Ok Fuck- on to the actual hc now...

Wether its phase 1 or phase 7, Murdocs anxious as hell around his S/O, because of the fact they are trans- and this is true before they even started dating- if learned that info before dating

I mean it's nothing to do with his S/O and the fact he's trans- in the sence of his S/O's physically body he does not care you bits you have man- he can work with either...

But... he can't stop thinking about the way he treat trans people in the past- he feels soooo guilty(which he should, he acted like a dickwad)

And what worries Murdoc the most is... he's scared his new boyfriend that accepted him for his flaws and failures, and never looked at him like was worthless.... was gonna leave him because of how he acted when he was ignorant and young

One day when he's drinking alone in the Winnebago he's hit with a overwhelmed wave of guilt, that almost felt suffocating

*BUZZ*

*Phone call from ❤️Mudzy❤️*

You pick up the phone

All you hear is Murdocs indisputable sobs of apologies- while simultaneously saying something about his dad, Trans, he was young and dumb- wait did he say something about you breaking up with him?!? What the hell is he on about?

It was obvious to you he was absolutely fucked up... like even worse the usual?

You told him to sit tight and you'll be there as fast as he can

You arive and he is absolutely fucking all over the place

The Winnebago is more trashed then then usual and he's in the center of it alllll messed up

H looks like he wants to hug you but he pulls back like if he did you would hate him

To sum it up- you two spent the next 3 hours talking about his past and how you still love him, and he could not control how he was raised

Holy fuck uhhh nevermind... NOW on to the ACTUAL hc :b

He has a hard time understanding your insecurities about you body but he tries- he just thinks you too hot

So you have to like sit him down and try and make him understand- cuz otherwise he clueless- which would make worry cuz he doesn't like not knowing whats going on

So google this shit he will

Google leeds him to some interesting things... like he learns about T(testosterone hormones for transitioning)

And after siting on the idea for a bit, when he got drunk Murdy kept trying to order T, but he couldn't cuz you need a note from a doctor/therapist/psychologist to get that shit

And you found him throwing a tantrum- screaming at his computer. Fun fact this happens pretty often, because he's really bad with computers...well except for when it come to the sketchy part of the internet, Mudz knows a lot about that stuff. I swear he's on a FBI watch list

When S/O asks whats wrong murdoc spouts on about how he FUCKING can't get T for his wonderful boyfriend- *sniff* to make him feel better- *sob* make him feel better

Yes Murdoc starts to have another drunken break down

And again you have to sit him down and explain the complex process of getting stuff like that

"Well thats stupid... I've always been able to get prescription drugs without a a prescription- I used to know a guy actually, you could get anything for the right price-..." Murdoc mumbled to himself

"What-"

"Nothing..."

But in then he understands a little more, and this time please explain what he can do to make you feel better about your dysphoria, cuz he will continue to do weird shit

Murdoc's no Shakespeare, he isn't great with words or with expressing shutters feeling, so he isn't the best at comforting but he tries his best

But something nice is, when Murdoc gets really high or reallyyyyyyy drunk he tends to be more touchy and more truthful, so he'll just randomly start praising S/O, even if its a the worst time- Like:

"...S/O"

"Yeah?"

"...dove- your the most beautiful, handsome, and stunning thing ever... no one can say otherwise- your perfect from head to toe...."

"Thats nice and all but hun this really ain't the time..."

*Murdoc looks at S/O very confused then looks at the toilet he just was hurling his guts up into*

But don't worry he doesn't always dish out his best compliments in the loo

At the end of the day Murdoc really love his boyfriend no matter what they look like.

"....I Love you..."

"Huh?"

"NOTHING!"

Noodle

Probably understands the most out of the 4

Noodle is the youngest meaning- she's 'more with the times' I fucking cringed so hard writing that for some reason-

She will try to distract you in any way to get her boyfriend to feel better, and stop thinking about it

Noodle doesn't exactly a big fan of talking that much if she doesn't find the conversation meaningful, but if needed she will spend as long as her S/O needs siting there tell him how much she loves him- and his body doesn't make him any less of a man

"Don't let anyone else tell you- who you are, ok?"

"I don't know about what you think, but what I do know is that your my lovely boyfriend!"

Noodle LOVES clothes shopping- scratch that just shopping in general

So she loves takeing her S/O to shops that can get that clothing that can make him feel more comfortable in his body

She does a bit of googleing but not like a deep dive as the guys

Noodle will round house kick anyone who dares to be transphobic to S/O

Along with Noodle screaming every curse word she knows at them in every language she know

No one fucks with Noodle's boyfriend- or I swear to satan when Noodles done with that knob- they won't even be able to look you in the eyes in fear of evoking Noodles rage once more

If Noods notices her boyfriend going through a bout of of depression due to his body based gender dysphoria(fucking hell- I'm tired of typing this out if I will now refur to that as BBGD) and she will decide to plan a date for her and S/O

She does this often- but the kind of date varies based on S/O's preference

When Nood complements S/O and his body she's very blunt, abd it's very obvious what she's doing- and knows that just doesn't give a shit

"Did I ever tell you how handsome you are?"

I can't think of any more quotes sorry

She makes sure everyone gets S/O pro-nouns right, incase that makes S/O more inscure she back handed murdoc once become he misgender S/O once- on accident and 2D told you she lecturerd him later when you left, whether it was an accident or not he never did it again and Mudz shutters at the memory-

If S/O has a melt down/panic attack due to BBGD if S/O is ok with it, Noodle will hold him and juat let him get it all out, till he's ready to talk, and if S/O just wants to sit there then thats fine to

She once teasingly called you baby boy, take that for what you will

"THE FUCK DID YOU SAY TO MY BOYFRIEND!!!"

Russel

Ok... he's probably the second best at understanding your sercumstance

But that does not make it any less awkward

Russel isn't exactly a conventionalist but he tries to priase/give words of affection/affirmation to his S/O to make him feel better

I wanna say S/O is the first transgender person Rus has dated- but thats not saying much as Russel was never that big in the dating world, so his knowledge on dating in general is not that vast

So like the other guy's he does research-

And was very thorough, and comes out pretty successful in his endeavor

And before Rus decides to make and drastic decisions like a shopping spree or or almost buying T *cough* 2D *cough* Murdoc

He communicates with his S/O about what they want

And the root of his insecurities, as Rus wan't S/O to know that your body does not define you and just a bunch of really sappy love crap

"Honey, your body is not what makes you- you, it's whats on the inside, you get what I mean?"

"There's nothing to be ashamed of, it's natural to feel this way, in this kind of situation."

"I would love no matter how you looked"

And then after talking about how S/O feels on this situation

Rus then will get really serious and ask S/O if he wan't to get medical procedures done and if he did Rus would him pay for the surgerys and crap

Or he may suggest seeking professional help with you BBGD

But if S/O says no- Rus is completely fine with that he just wants his S/O to know that he loves him

If S/O is going through a especially bad bout of dysphoria, Russel will make him their favorite comfort food

Like Rus isn't great with words and depending on where you are in the relationship physically affection can be a bit stiff with him- But one thing is he's a Great Fucking Cook

Ask for any comfort food it's yours

He's a big thing for acts of service- like Noodle oftenvdoes things to distract S/O from his unpleasant feelings

Russel's a big boi with major RBF so when he's around there is less likely someones gonna say/talk transphoic shit to/about S/O

And if they do... well I hope they like confrontation, becuase Rus will not yell at them but, his words will make just about anyone shit their pants

Like 2D, Rus complements S/O that could makes S/O feel better about his BBGD- but un-like 2D he's really good at being subtle about it.

The Respored (aka rewrite) version of "Everything's Not Okay - Broken Royalty Part One". For context, scroll up until you see "Everything's (Not) Okay"

I'll just say it up front, nothing about the story I had in mind for the original version of the fic justifies it even being more than one chapter, let alone 20 and a multi part thing. Barely anything about "Everything's (Not) Okay" made sense in my eyes, looking back at it. The original plot was faulty, everyone was ooc even for an au excluding maybe Rick, and if I ramble even more about how much I don't like one of my old fics I'll be on my death bed. Ironically, I'm still fond of it, but more In a "Aww, well aren't you an adorable piece of garbage" way.

So involving this rewrite to keep things short, will be only one chapter. The chapter will most likely be a long one-shot(possibly up to 20k words. At the bare minimum, it'll be around 7,500 words), but still a one-shot

Tldr: I'm turning Brokeon Royalty into a One-shot and naming it "Fractured Bell"

I kind of like the original version better than Broken Royalty, but it still had its problems. The chapters weren't really too unique, and while the frogs(like Sprig, Polly, etc) were in character, the human characters(Molly, Phoenica, Trixie) weren't.

The rewrite is meant to be a complete overhaul of the original fic, where it changes nearly everything from the original.

BISHOP/ASTROLOGER AZURE: They are the same person in the cartoon!? Azure is a chameleon with a split-personality disorder, sometimes she's a stern and stiff bishop and sometimes she's a perky occultist. Either way, she is ADORABLE and good friends with Irratino <3

BLACKSTONE, ESQ.: And back to one of mine, Blackstone is literally like a marshmallow man idk what he is TwT He does shady shit all the time, but is also a nervous wreck. He looks like a Lego guy!!

Logico visits the island’s art museum. He hates it a lot.

LOGICO: NONE of this makes sense. It’s just colours and shapes! WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL ABOUT COLOURS AND SHAPES?!

Someone dies.

LOGICO: OH, THANK GOD. I couldn’t look at these dumb paintings a second longer.

He meets Captain Slate, Bishop Azure, and Blackstone, Esq.. Azure and Blackstone are worried and potentially violence-filled, but Slate seems to be pretty okay with life and the world.

LOGICO: I HATE THIS ABSTRACT STATUE!!! AZURE: Then stop looking at it.

He looks for clues.

LOGICO: If you didn’t kill this person then why, WHY are you holding a GLASS OF POISONED WINE?? SLATE: I didn’t do it.

Logico figures it out pretty quickly.

LOGICO: AND, you did it in the entry hall! BE-HE-CAUSE THAT’S WHERE HE BODY WAS!! Oh, I am so good! I’m so fantastic! On top of that, BISHOP AZURE had the abstract statue- AZURE: I’m holding it. LOGICO: -and of course that means that BLACKSTONE had the vase! I managed to solve it all by myself with my own two eyebrows! SLATE: I should have stayed in space.

Seeing Crow's beloved Mononoke successfully getting a zine going is so swell! Really reminded me of that one time when a handful of people in the fandom were floating the idea of making a To Your Eternity zine.

I mean, for that one, I can at least contribute something in terms of content!

Look, my confidence is not too high lately and it's still recovering, okay? Damn, I miss my yellow font. These quiet asides being visible just ain't right. If Tumblr wants to take away my yellow font, at least give me a spoiler tag function à la Discord.

Nukes has been nursing some really amazing fanfic ideas lately, which made me think it could get its debut in the zine or something. It would be so fucking cool (source: my imagination)!!! And I'm sure π could whip something up in both the writing and art department, too. AND—

Honestly? I doubt we're lacking in the art + writing department. Maybe I don't need to pitch in for the content, after all. Which is a relief, I guess, because bruh what can I even contribute

I mean, surely we can easily pass an interest check, right? TYE is not that small a circle! It's just smaller apropos of, I don't know, stuff of Jujutsu Kaisen's status. But there are quite a few of us; surely it's enough to get the train moving.

Hmm... It's the logistics and management that will be the problem, you say?

Agree. I recall Nova's got experience in this sorta thing, but who else is interested in taking up tiring positions like these? There ain't no way one manager is enough. And she seems busy with her life as it is.

M-Me? But I'm a total greenhorn! I don't even know what the fuck are zines until recently! And I have only learned more about it because I answered that Interest Check questionnaire for that Mononoke fanzine and read all of its items to make inferences. Bruh!

Hmm. Maybe the timing is not completely right. Maybe one should pick a time when most people might be a bit freer/less hectic with real-life shit like school and college. So, uh, during the summer? It's always summer here...

But according to the Mononoke zine's uber-transparent timeline projection, producing a zine actually takes quite a lot of months! Is the team playing it safe, or overextending the time it actually needs? I have no idea.

Hmm. Or shall we only suggest this idea in earnest when Season 3 is announced in more definite terms? To drum up the excitement for the dawn of a new era in the story, ya know? And renewed interest from the anime-only gang could mean more candidates for both content creation and manning the logistics team.

And then the zine preferably gets published right around the time Season 3 is out. Consolidate To Your Eternity food into one period! Tasty.

I don't know what Future Lyns will think, but this present one certainly thinks if this zine is a go, I'd love to help out with the logistics. I love statecraft watching people handle things from the shadow and doing it myself. And I can always ask Crow for advice. She's so charmed by my rizz, there's no way she would ignore me! Right?

Either way! The experience will certainly be very intriguing!

It's not one of my New Year's Resolutions at all, though. Damn. Now we don't have the satisfaction of crossing it out on A List Of Some Kind.

It was the peculiar knickknack, perched on a shelf within the lower floor of Lloyd’s home, that had suddenly caught Colette’s eye.

Even as she felt the urgency of her journey, of Raine and Genis waiting for her at the table, of Kratos’ gaze as he sat nearby, hearing the creak of the floorboards as Lloyd came downstairs and the gurgling of boiling water where Dirk had a kettle on the stove, she lingered.

“Colette? What is it?” Lloyd asked, walking up to her.

“Oh, just…did you make this?” she asked, pointing to a figurine. It was carved from cedar, holding a bow in its left hand.

“No, but… Oh! It’s from that game we have! Right, Dad?”

Dirk chuckled as he poured tea into clay cups, steam twisting up in the air. “That’s one of the set pieces from it. Ya probably forgot to put it away and stuck it up there since.”

“I did?”

Colette’s curiosity was piqued. She couldn’t help herself but ask, “Can we play it?”

“Oh, like…right now?” Seeing the smile stretch across his cheeks, it wasn’t a question asked out of confusion, but of eagerness. “Sure! Dad, is it okay if we take it out? I promise we’ll put all the pieces back!”

“I was just about to serve tea to our guests. A little game would go well with it.”

There was only a soft clearing of the throat to show Kratos had been listening in before speaking. “We should begin preparations for our departure tomorrow. The hour is growing late.”

Lloyd’s smile flipped to a frown immediately. “Not like you have to play. And it’s rude to decide for other people, you know!” That earned a snicker from Genis, and even a little smirk from Raine.

Still, it did make Colette reflect on her childishness. “Ah, I’m sorry, I really should–”

“I think the decision should be up to the Chosen, don’t you agree?” Raine spoke from her seat. “Besides, we’ve already accepted the tea.”

A pause from Kratos followed by a shrug. “This will still be considered part of my assignment from the Church.”

“Of course.”

She silently thanked her teacher for letting her indulge, at least a little bit.

Colette couldn’t recall many instances of games at her own household besides the occasional cat’s cradle with her grandmother. Nothing as frivolous as toys on the floor, her room always tidy, with just the occasional star decoration for her windows. She had nothing like the box set Lloyd brought over, happily taking out more of the figures that looked like the one on the shelf. Each was a different person, a different story to them, the details so intricate on the pieces, from the folds of clothing to the studs on belt buckles.

“There’s even a rulebook in here on how to play,” Genis commented. Raine, seated across from him, looked to the pieces with interest. Kratos remained aloof in his corner, sipping the tea that Dirk had given him earlier.

“Yeah, it’s fun! You like, um… imagine who you wanna be. And play as them!” Lloyd took his seat next to Colette, shoulder brushing hers and shaking the table in his movement–which then… whined?

Lloyd peered his head down. “Noishe, why are you in here? You’re supposed to be in the stable!”

Instead, the giant dog had made his home underneath the table, despite it barely fitting him. To Colette, he looked like a piece of the green earth, matching with the potted plants that lined the walls and hung from the ceiling.

“It seems your pet wanted some company,” Kratos said.

Lloyd looked curiously at the mercenary, then sighed. “Fine, but you better go to bed later.” This was followed by a delighted whuff! and ecstatic tail-wagging.

Meanwhile, Colette was looking at the design of the box itself. It was carved to show the ridges of mountains, the curling lines of rivers, and even the gentle curves of the tops of trees. The map within was enthralling, a smaller version of Sylvarant. The carved figures were spread around the table, tiny heroes that could go out into this world that was made for them.

“It’s like going on an adventure!”

Lloyd grinned. “We could do this as a warm-up for when we go traveling for real.”

When we go. She made sure to keep her smile fixed.

Choosing their characters took a better part of the hour, their tea becoming lukewarm. She saw Dirk prepare something else at the stove, recalling when he had retrieved some potatoes from a nearby barrel earlier. Noishe was slumbering at their feet, his tail shuffling from side to side.

“I want to be the dual swordsman!” Lloyd shouted, looking through the pieces–then furrowed his brows. “Hey… where’s the guy with the double swords? He’s my favorite!”

“Ya lost him, lad,” Dirk called out, chopping a carrot. “On your way to school, remember? Ya wanted to show it off but dropped it into a river.”

“What?! Now who am I gonna play?”

“How about this one?” Colette picked up one figure gently, holding it up for Lloyd to see. “He’s a swordsman, too!”

Although, the figure only had one sword, coupled with a shield, which Lloyd noted. “I know, but he’s not the same…  and I don’t really like the way he smirks.”

“I think he looks nice.” Sure, the figure had a bit of a leering grin, with flowing locks to match, but he held a confidence that she couldn’t help but admire.

If Colette liked something, Lloyd was sure to follow. (There weren’t any other sword fighters anyway). He took the figure reluctantly. “Next time, I’m carving one of my own.” His eyes lit up with sudden inspiration. “With four swords this time!”

“Lloyd, we already have a Sword Dancer in this game and you can’t play him.”

“I–I know that, Genis!” Lloyd complained, who had definitely not known that.

“Can I choose her?” Colette took a figure who she found so mysterious, with beautiful eyes of amber. Unlike herself, this person seemed like they’d be graceful on their feet! “What’s her name?”

“I don’t think they have names,” Genis said. “But you just chose the assassin.”

“That sounds cool! I wanna be an assassin!”

“I bet you’d make a great assassin, Lloyd!”

“Really? You think so?”

Genis deftly slid between Lloyd and Colette’s conversation. “You already have your swordsman, now stick with it!”

“I’ll choose this one.” Raine was nonplussed with the small argument, picking out her figure. “He looks reliable.”

All three stared at what she held, then back to Raine.. “He looks…” Lloyd started. “Beefy.”

“His shirt is so small,” Colette commented. “He must be cold.”

Genis’ right eye twitched. “You’re choosing the fighter?”

Raine placed a hand on her chin. “Is that an issue?”

“No, it’s fine… I’d say I’m a bit worried your team doesn’t have a healer, but Lloyd’s character has some healing spells.”

“Wait, my guy does magic?”

“… It says it right on your character sheet.”

Then, there was one person left…

Colette thought Kratos looked a bit lonely, so she had asked him to join in, despite Lloyd’s protests. Kratos seemed surprised at the offer, but didn’t refuse, seating himself along with the rest.

Yet most of the playing pieces were falling apart or just missing–so he had been left with the last one left intact.

“You get the barbarian.” Genis gave him a small figure, giant axe held in its hand.

“Oh, is she a dwarf?” Colette asked.

“But she’s small, even for a dwarf!” Lloyd added.

Raine raised an eyebrow. “Is that not just a child?”

Kratos blinked, staring at the figure whose hair was arranged in charming twintails. “… She  seems resilient,” he said dryly.

Lloyd muttered something that only Colette could hear. “He’s somehow gonna be good at this, isn’t he?”

She giggled into her hand.

The rules were a bit complicated to Colette. Numbers seemed quite important! Especially for what was called their ‘attributes.’

“Lloyd,” Genis said, seeing his friend  scribble furiously on some paper. “You can’t put everything into strength.”

“But shouldn’t I want my guy to be strong?”

There was also something about the preparation that was invigorating. Colette thought over her character, the things she’d be good at, the history she had. She imagined she was a friendly assassin who owned dozens of dogs, and embarked on her adventures so that she could buy them all the food and treats they wanted!

When they finally played the game, thoughts of her journey flitted away.

“You’re deeper in the mines. There’s no more sunlight, so only your torches can help you see.” Genis’ voice was low, looking over the map, instruction book still in hand. “But the treasure is close. You’re at a crossway in the tunnels. What do you do?”

Raine opened her mouth to speak, but Lloyd barreled through loudly. “Let’s go right!”

“Should we check for traps first?” Colette asked.

“Oh, good thinking.”

She could use her trap-checking ability! But first, she needed to roll.

The multiple-sided dice were as pretty as jewelry, the runes that represented numbers carved delicately on each side. She didn’t completely understand the rules when it came to dice-rolling, but Genis had ensured everyone he’d take care of it.

“Good luck, Colette!” Lloyd cheered as she rolled, holding his character in hand. He seemed more comfortable playing his special swordsman now!

“And…” Genis paused, causing everyone to lean in to await his verdict as he read the numbers; even Kratos seemed invested. “You failed to deactivate the trap. You fall into the pit that was hidden.”

“Oh no, not again!”

Lloyd looked at the dice suspiciously. “This is the third miss in a row! Not even the real Colette falls that much!”

“Hey, it’s not my fault her rolls are unlucky.”

“Then I roll to go and rescue her!” Lloyd took the dice, cupped them in both hands and shook furiously. “With…” He squinted at his sheet. “Can’t I just jump in there?”

“You know you’ll also fall into the pit?” Genis sighed, taking Lloyd’s sheet. “Just roll. I’ll tell you to use whatever skill is best.”

Raine laughed quietly. “Someone’s being a very helpful dungeon-master.”

“I’d rather not have people die in our first game...”

“It’s fine! I rescued her, right, Genis?” Lloyd looked quite proud at his dice’s numbers, arms crossed and grinning wide.

“Yeah, but you also got yourself injured. You didn’t escape the damage check.”

“... Dammit. Okay, uh, I wanna use my healing spells!”

“You just had your turn. Also, did you forget you barely put anything into your intellect attribute? Your healing spells are practically worthless.”

“Oh…”

Even after the trap mishap, there were still perils on their journey underground. From taking a wrong turn and reaching a dead end, to being ambushed by giant cave bats that could only be defeated by a single swing of Kratos’ great axe attack–which had been just a ‘lucky roll’ according to Lloyd.

Then, they finally found the treasure within the deepest regions of the caves. Until… “There’s something guarding it,” Genis intoned.

Lloyd’s eyes brightened at the sound of a strong enemy, Raine’s with curiosity, and Kratos’ with exhaustion. Colette imagined everyone’s characters with the same expression,  the thought making her smile. “What’s guarding it?” she asked.

Genis took a deep breath, his voice taking on a dramatic tone. “A leftover demon from… Niflheim. ” Lifting away the book he had been holding over his face, Genis revealed another figure larger than the others; one with a skeletal face, riding on a lizard-like monster, and  brandishing a wickedly-long sword. “The Hell Knight!”

Lloyd thrust his figure at the carved enemy, his character’s sword clinking against the other’s. “Finally, a real fight! I roll to attack it!”

“I’ll help! Can I use my, um…” Colette looked at her sheet. “Backstab? But would I have to stab the cute lizard he’s riding, too?”

“I say we let our barbarian handle this,” Raine said. Kratos sighed tiredly.

“Ugh, but he gets to fight everything! Why not us?”

“Because you’re the support,” Kratos explained. “It would be prudent for you to stand back, as you are also still injured. And the Cho–the assassin should use her thieving abilities to get the treasure.”

Lloyd groaned. “You’re always so bossy. It’s my roll anyway, so I choose to attack and–Uh.”

His figure with the weird smirk was suddenly gone, the Hell Knight now only facing three adventurers.

“Where’d he go?!”

Colette shyly tapped Lloyd’s shoulder, looking as sorry as if she had taken away his character herself. “Noishe got to it when you weren’t looking…”

There was a gnawing sound from underneath their table.

Noishe had Lloyd’s character in his jaws, biting around its head like a chew toy and holding the rest of it between his giant paws.

“Stop eating him, Noishe!”

With a whine, Noishe stood up, bumping the table. Figures were knocked askew, as well as a few teacups. As he ran off, Colette thought that the figure’s smirk had transformed into a frown by then, probably from Noishe’s teeth making marks on it…

With their map covered in tea and chaos, and Lloyd leaving the table to run after Noishe, Genis shrugged. “Guess that’s game over for now.”

“Aw, I wanted to finish our adventure,” Colette said, having now clutched her character to save her from another fall. 

“Seriously, I had such a cool boss fight planned for you all.” Genis shook his head as he gathered up the figures, all while Lloyd tried to rescue his own from Noishe in their scuffle - and didn’t sound like he was succeeding very well. “But we can continue this next time!”

From her side, she saw Raine’s smile fade, saw Kratos close his eyes–if only for a second.

Colette nodded to Genis. “Next time.”

The stew Dirk had served after their game had been so delicious and warm, the feeling running through Colette’s chest, all while the crickets chirped in the night air.

But she had to leave eventually.

“Sorry we couldn’t finish our game,” Lloyd said. Both stood just outside the doorway, the others already crossing the small river, waiting on the dirt path. “But I’m gonna make my swordsman so powerful next time. We’ll beat that boss easy!”

“Hehe. I’ll do the same with my assassin.” She placed her hands behind her back, feeling the wind against her skin. “This was really fun!”

Lloyd’s smile to her felt as warm as the stew she had eaten, heating up her chest. In a strange moment of bravery, she wanted to reach for his hand. What if she…?

“Hey, Colette,” Lloyd’s voice was soft, like the leaves rustling around them. “I’ll see you tomorrow, okay?”

… She had a duty to fulfill.

“Yeah.” Her boots crunched the grass as she stepped away. “Goodbye.”

She was grateful they got to go on one adventure together.

That would be Claudestiddies! I made my art insta account in October of 2019 and followed a lot of 3h accounts. One of them was called Claudetiddies. We became friends around November of 2019 and are still friends now.

Currently Reading:  i just finished the v1 titans run of comics (1999-2003)!!!! i literally can’t recommend it more, it was so fun ough. but i’m currently in that phase after reading something really good where you can’t read anything else because of the misery of finishing a good read. it’s rough. honorable mentions go to the copy of the great gatsby that my coworker has been trying to make me read,,, (i’ve gotten through an entire one (1) page of it, sorry steve), and buy back the secrets, which is an incredible fanfic that everyone who likes timkon should go read immediately or i’ll kneecap your closest friends and relatives <3 (also also also in the family of things by @deadchannelradio which is so incredibly amazing and even tho i finished it a while ago i think it should still count for this because everyone should also read it immediately, the kneecapping threat still withstanding ofc)

How tall are you: last time i checked i was 5’4 but god knows if that’s changed by now (i doubt it), apparently that’s 162 ish centimeters 

Piercings: i have piercings in my ear that i got when i was like,,, four years old that are somehow still around god bless them. and i have a septum piercing. i really desperately want an industrial next

Favourite colour: i’m really bad at making decisions like this lmao. i don’t know myself well enough to know my own favorite color, if i’m tbhing. but a lot of different shades of blue are nice, and i like burnt orange and mustard yellow type vibes. green is also nice! so who knows

Current obsession: god i wish it weren’t obvious. to all the folks who started following me because of my greek myths stuff (and that includes you jo lmao) uhhhh sorry. greek myths were THE hyperfixation for like,,,, three or four years but dc comics is back in a big way. i simply cannot stop thinking about these little superhero guys,,,,

Unrelated Obsession: right now??? i’m not kidding when i say that dc comics has left me with literally no other computing space in my brain. like i’m at the stage of brain rot where having a conversation about something that isn’t dc related is a little bit hard,,,, it’s abysmal out here guys. but i’ll give a shout out to greek myths,,, when will my interest in the iliad and odyssey return from the war??? my brain basically works in two modes, which are dc comics nerd and pretentious classics obsessive, so eventually the classics hyperfixation will return but i couldn’t tell you when that’ll be 

Any pets: i have two cats!! their names are achilles and briseis and they are the worst little creechers but also god’s greatest gift to humanity (achilles is currently curled up in my lap purring his stupid little head off). they turn six this april!!!

Favourite fictional character: this is an incredibly mean question actually. you want me to pick a favorite son??? i am holding my hands over jason todd’s ears while whispering dick grayson,,, but also if we’re allowed to include ocs then rn everyone can get fucked because my baby wes is having a renaissance (in my head)

The last place you traveled: lmao the last place i traveled was back to my hometown (a small town in northern indiana) for the county fair this summer. the ice cream at the local ice cream stand is still the best in the country and i’ll die on that hill but yeah i’d kill to travel a bit more soon but probably won’t really travel until my sister’s wedding happens in georgia in october
