AU where dagon doesn't get a hit in on akatosh's avatar and martin survives the experience, would he have to like, threaten the blades to keep ned/xikeel from getting "mysteriously" offed, how do you think your interpretation of him would deal with/react to Xikeel becoming then un-becoming sheogorath?

irt the blades definitely yeah. in my characters actual canon, theres some thinly veiled threats from the blades that are never acted on (a lot of the secrets xik & ned know become nonissues with martins death). so had martin lived and they now had two outsiders with insider knowledge, they would definitely try to kill them. probably ned first, since xikeel is outwardly cooperative and they might think they can recruit her.

honestly not sure that would happen in that alternate timeline irt the shivering isles since what gets her to the point of susceptibility to the isles is having one of her two close friends die horribly and the other being actively suicidal and a complete wreck.

so the scenario would prob be a bit different to GET her to the isles in the first place, but assuming it happened and martin was able to find out id assume hed be completely bewildered and kind of just exasperated. like not as horrified as he should be (though he is) bc its like ‘oh she would do that wouldnt she’. him and xikeel are very good friends and hed want to attempt basically the worlds weirdest intervention (which ned also attempts in canon when he finally finds out what happened to her).

except instead of ‘goofy but really sad’ i think things would just be kind of funny. bc it would be like, an oblivion crisis lite except the stakes are low and its martin, ned, dar-ma (and any other recruits to xikeels massive polycule) all banding together to try and figure out how to get into the isles and how to de-daedrify her
