This month, we’ve been looking at each of the seven chakras in turn, and exploring which essences are best suited to balancing each one. (As a reminder, you can always use the “Essence Groups” drop-down menu on our website to find essences categorized by chakra.) Today, we reach the seventh and final chakra, the crown chakra. Located at the crown of the head, this chakra related to issues of spirituality and higher vision. A person with a healthy crown chakra will simultaneously embrace their earthly body and take an interest in spiritual growth, seeking always to become a better human being and a better citizen of earth. Many of the essences Ava recommends to balance the seventh chakra have the ability to ground us and strengthen our sense of our own knowledge and worth. For example, white yarrow is a shielding essence. It acts almost like an umbrella to bounce off negative energies, and can help us to feel stronger, less vulnerable, and more resilient. Borage can also help to bolster emotional resiliency and ease a negative outlook, which makes it a good choice for facing down difficult situations or embarking on a new and challenging journey. It is often recommended as a calming influence for those who struggle with stress, impatience, and mood swings. White morning glory also has a relaxing effect, but this delicate vine flower is especially recommended for soothing sleep problems, such as difficulty calming an overactive mind and falling asleep. And Oriental poppy contains a balance of both fire and air elements, and can foster a greater sense of self-worth and self-assuredness, especially when it comes to sexuality and physical confidence.
