Matara Kulcha – This dish has been my lunch for almost 5 years, when I use to work for a company in GK 2. Still remember those days. I use to get this plate of lunch for 30/- INR from the kulchawala bhaiya in out office compound. There were obviously two reasons for me to have this lunch, one the company didn’t provided it and second I didn’t have time in the morning to cook and pack my lunch. Those were the days. I use to work 16-17 hours a day always on my toes as being an Executive Assistant to a high profile person is not easy. Have learnt so much from that job of mine…… all thanks to my most tough Boss… I think if he would not have been so demanding, strict and unpredictable, I would have never gained the knowledge and experiences that I have, both professionally and personally. I still remember how I use to sulk each day of this job, where I lasted for good 7.5 years J…. Coming back to my dish Matar Kulcha, for some its Ghughni, for some white peas or white chickpeas…. for me it was my 15 mnts of peace, when no-one would disturb me and I would quickly gobble it and be back to work and yes you read it correct I use to get 15 mnts for lunch…. That too was not fixed ….. This dish for me is a comfort dish now, when I don’t feel like doing too much for lunch or dinner I just boil the peas, garnish them with good amount of onion, tomatoes, chillies, coriander some ginger and top it with chutneys and its all ready to eat.
