Continuing on with this fakemon AU thing, I decided to try a what if team for Ash if he visited the Eldiw region from Xenoverse Per Aspera ad Astra, aka Pokemon Xenoverse. This one was kinda tough all around because there aren't really a lot of new Pokémon. However, sticking with how he usually does things, I decided to just do my best.
As per usual, I made Ash's sprite based a bit on the design for the male MC from the original game. The Pikachu situation is rather interesting this time, but like the other sprites used, I found it in the game's files. I'll elaborate on this below.
But before I do, yall, play Xenoverse. It and Uranium are probably my favorite fan games, and Xenoverse is insanely high quality all around.
Now let's go to cringe town
So the way Ash comes to Eldiw I think will be different. This Ash is on his way to another region via a boat and happens to get caught up in some weird Xenoverse distortions that unleash Sharpedo X upon the ship. It's a massive incident where everyone is saved merely by being caught up in a dimensional portal by Dielibi and taken to another dimension. Upon waking up, Ash finds himself and Pikachu in an unfamiliar place saved by Aster, Kay, and Alice, and most importantly, something is weird about Pikachu after this happens.
Ash learns about the X Pokémon breakouts in the Eldiw region and decides to help out and do some adventuring and gym challenges, all while discovering strange things that are different from his dimension, and searching for a way to go home.
I imagine he travels with both the MCs and Aster, and Pikachu gets along well with both of their X Pikachu from conflicting dimensions. He is determined to help Kay find his missing father, and along the way they meet certain strange Pokemon.
Pikachu (Retro), was afflicted by X energy from the Xeno wormhole that opened and the trip through dimensions. Other than a changed color pallette, Pikachu remains largely the same, except he now has access to a sort of "soft evolution" to a strange creature called Gorochu, in which he gains a massive power boost but loses control of his own power. He is able to transform back, but only after being totally exhausted. In places that weigh heavily with Xenoverse energy, Pikachu can turn somewhat feral, but does his best to fight this. He's still the best boy.
Trishout, Fire/Sound, capable of shifting through Earth, Xeno, and Astro Forms. Kay already has Shulong from childhood, Alice eventually finds Shyleon, and Ash finds Trishout trapped in a hidden Team Dimension hideout where he is rescued. Trishout is a bit of a naughty boy that enjoys pranks and is highly curious about everything. Trishout, as well as Shulong and Shyleon, can ascend forms and become stronger, but still retains this playfulness in battle. He likes to ride Ash's shoulder in base form and gets along famously with Pikachu, but seems to have strange secrets with the others.
Vesperfum (Plant Bat, Grass/Dark) is the reliable flier of the team and decent in a fight as well. Ash caught it after a quick detour to Dorado village, and Aster seems to have taken interest in its line, as well as the lines for Swelephant and Croakraze. Vesperfum in particular is crazy for fruits.
Swelephant (Elephant man, Water/Fighting) started out timid, and even as a fully evolved Pokémon he is afraid of small Pokémon, particularly rat Pokémon, even Pikachu. Vesperfum is more or less Swelephant's emotional support friend, but Swelephant will absolutely wreck things if it needs done or someone is in danger.
Whisteract (Ghost/Fairy) saved Ash and co from a haunted forest by lighting the way. It is very affectionate and acts as sort of the team mother. It especially dotes on Swelephant, and will emphasize the Ghost in ghost type to those that threaten or harm her friends. She came through for the gang during the G.E.I.S.T. incident
Honchen (Dragon) tried to destroy a village after being exposed to too much Xenoverse energy, and Ash just barely managed to catch it to save it. It turns out that Honchen is rather agreeable when in its right state of mind. It is slightly bigger than average, but is actually a tad weak and is a bit insecure. That being said, it has won very important battles, and everyone loves him.
Other than these, I imagine he would have caught a Sharpedo X for Aster to study.
Again, just for fun.

I haven’t beaten the game yet, but I’m close. But, until then, I decided to take a short break and make myself a little trainer card and team shot of my team from Pokemon Xenoverse, aka Xenoverse Per Aspera Ad Astra.Â
Couple things to get out of the way
1. I did not make these fakemon sprites, these were made by the team and artists that made the game itself. I simply dug them out of the game files and edited in MS paint. There were a couple of things I had to edit to make it work for transparency issues or just minor corrections I wanted to touch up, but other than this, those sprites are entirely the work of the Xeno Team
2. I did make my own trainer sprite, BUT, as some people might notice, I recycled some parts just because I just wanted to make something fun but quick. This one was just recycled from my own past trainer sprites which were made with official sprites.
3. I keep a template to make trainer cards with, in case some might be curious why it looks so similar. I DID change up a couple of things, mainly editing a Quick Ball icon to look like the Xenoball. The little swirly bit is also from the in game files. The team pentagon and X shape however is something I decided to mess with for funsies.Â
I’m sure I’m forgetting something else, but this is just my way of showing how much fun I had with Xenoverse. I did something similar with Pokemon Uranium a long time ago, and I thought it was only fair to give similar treatment to the second fan game I’ve come close to beating (for the record, I still need to beat Uranium). I’ve had so much fun playing this game and the story WENT places man. Figuratively and quite literally geographically and dimensionally. I’m on Victory Road now, and this is pretty much the team I decided to keep on. I think I finalized them around gym 5. I’m actually sad that these guys aren’t real and that they won’t get to join my real Pokemon when I’m finished, so I’m immortalizing them in my own way. Also, for reference, X Pokemon are basically regional variants BUT in the form of a boss fight usually and from another dimension.
My team, none nicknamed so I can get to know their species names better:
1. Shulong: Water/Dragon: My starter and such a cute little dude. No, I didn’t decide not to evolve it, the starters in this game are very peculiar and don’t quite evolve normally- For spoiler’s sake, I decided to omit its transformation I’m currently using. Let me tell you though, it. Is. AWESOME. Anyway, Shulong was my first Pokemon in this game and I LOVE how important to the story your starter is and how you two have history and a visible bond. I imagine my fictional in-universe self keeps it as a shoulder buddy.
2. Electaburst: Fire/Electric: The first X Pokemon I caught in the game as an Elekid, and probably one of the best fire pokemon in the game AND one of the fakemon that made me REALLY wanna play this game. I love the Electabuzz family a lot, with Electivire being my favorite, but Burst has clawed his way into my heart as a favorite as well. He’s been super reliable since day 1 and actually kind of had a bit of a “rivalry” levels wise with Shulong, with the two pretty easily staying about a level or so between each other and with the two cleaning up each other’s messes. Electaburst is definitely a heavy hitter though. I imagine we’re like total bros tho, fist bumps and stuff like that.Â
3. Whisteract: Ghost/Fairy: During a certain portion of the game, I caught her as a Nunvil in a ghost forest and she pretty much carried me until gym 3. For a bit, I thought I might have to replace her, but right before gym 5 I found the item to evolve her, and she kicks SO MUCH ass now. Sure, she’s about as frail as a napkin, but her Curse is super reliable and practically saved my ass during some very intense X battles. I imagine this thing has a bit of an issue with personal space, but we get along just fine.
4. Mylomute: Normal/Ice: Its a doggo. I wanted it. I got it. She’s super frail to fighting types but my dog the doggo saved my ass more times than I can count. Quite literally the under dog on my team, even more literally when she uses Dig. I caught her a bit before gym 2 and evolved her a bit before... gym 4, I believe, and then she started hitting hard. As for how I think we get along- I have 6 dogs IRL, I know what a dog does. I think she’s a bit hyper and a bit rough with affection, but ultimately I have experience with that and I think it would fit this thing.
5. Rapidash X: Flying in Quiet Mode, Electric in Storm Mode: I obtained this beauty before gym 5. It was a bit difficult getting her to level up at first, but then suddenly she caught up SUPER QUICK and saved me during the game’s haunted house bit. There’s a special trick to Rapidash X in this game in that they transform from Flying to Electric form when their HP hits a certain limit. Whether in physical flying mode or special electric mode, this thing is a BEAST. I had to fight one as a boss and... Oh boy, that was harsh. I was gonna replace it with the Sound Type Eeveelution, but I got attached to this thing. I also have experiences with horses, so I think Rapidash would be a bit affectionate and let me ride around, and probably nibbles my hair like my horses used to when I was a kid.
6. Rexquiem: Ground/Dark: Okay, I know I have a bias towards edgy corvids. Am I ashamed? Not even a little bit. Listen. Listen. This bird is SO COOL. I got it right before gym 5, and what’s hilarious is that I was about to raise it from a pathetic baby to this form- then I found the 1st stage evolution in the wild, tossed the baby, and immediately evolved this thing with the stone it needed. Its so powerful and can take a lot of shit. This one feels like it REALLY needs to be real right tf now. I imagine my in fiction self is also a bit of a corvid dork, and Rexquiem is both a bro and also just constantly like “Oh my god, shut up, PLEASE.” Maybe he lets me ride his back idk.
Separating story canon, I think fictional Den came to Eldiw through some dimensional rift by accident and just got to work spazzing around and accidentally saving the day. The gym leaders definitely think I’m some weirdo with questionable sleeping habits and questionable fashion sense- but, results speak for themselves since I somehow end up in the right place at the right time. He definitely keeps trying to catch a certain Gengar in this game (because its also one of my favs), and that Gengar thinks he’s fuckin weird as hell and may be scared of him.Â
anyway, thank you to the Xeno team and Weedle for making such a fun game. I can’t draw well right now, so I hope you don’t mind this.Â
