sometimes when I hear ‘I came out to my family after over a decade of anxiety and silent struggle and they were like yeah, we know’, I have to ask why the family didn’t say something? and wonder if they provided a safe space to discuss gender & sexuality? yes, waiting till your kid is comfortable enough to tell you is preferable, but if they’re clearly struggling, and you’re truly not queerphobic?? what’s the reason you didn’t have a discussion about it
