On Mitsuhide and Izana and why I think they have the hots for each other (manga spoilers ahead):

Since their teen years Mitsuhide has greatly admired Izana, aiming to be his aide before he was assigned to Zen, and Izana respected him and selected him to hire specifically even though he wasn't of noble birth or anything.

Izana taking Mituhide’s surname in Lilias 👀 like, 'Hmm, I’ll just pluck a name out of the air, how about, oh I don’t know, Louen?’ As if he’s never printed ‘Izana Louen’ in elaborate cursive all over his diary...

That moment in chapter 21 where Izana's sprawling glamorously on a balcony and is like ‘come hither Mitsuhide...closer...’ before revealing that it was so Zen could see them together and be suspicious...yeah. Gay.

The discussion Izana has with Haruka about getting Zen to start courting, when Haruka mentions that Izana himself doesn’t court any ladies, and Izana is like “yeah, I’m done with that,” combined with how dismissively he then treats Haki, aka the lady he actually gets engaged to, aka his beard just completes the gay vibe imo. He doesn’t want a wife, he wants Mitsuhide.
