Day 2 of our time with Geeker, and Wheatley, and it was Wheatleyโ€™s time to shine again today! Mostly because it was a work day for him and thus we were following him to the hospital. Though I do want it noted that heโ€™s actually picked up not only a bunch of skill points for Handiness, but a preference for it! Guess all those shower upgrades have convinced him that wielding a wrench is fun. XD
Anyway -- over at his actual job, it was a not-overwhelming day to start with -- lot of kids on the ward, but nobody much else. Wheatley started with one Gideon Harris, who proved to have Sweaty Shivers and thus needed a shot. Easy-peasy, really. With that over, I started to send Wheatley over to the next kid --
But then I got a pop-up about him needing to do a house call! Hey, you know how I feel about the active careers -- a chance to do something out of the ordinary is great! And this was very much out of the ordinary indeed, as his call took him to, of all places, StrangerVille! To the house of Jess Sigworth, in fact -- guess she must have remembered him from when he assisted Chell in the fight against the Mother Plant. :p Though, weirdly enough, it wasnโ€™t her family that was sick -- instead, there were just three random visitors hanging around being ill. Game, this -- this is bad quarantine protocol, game. Especially when one of the visitors is an alien and has who-knows-what.
Wheatley took it all in stride, though -- examining each visitor in turn, and prescribing the same cure-all medicine available on the phone. And not saying a word about them chatting with Jess and her child while having the big red โ€œhouse callโ€ icon flashing above their heads. -.- Game, come on. This is a lot less amusing in the year 2021.
