This scene from wind waker makes my brain rattle in my skull

OKAY BUT I’ve been trying to talk about this some in my ph lore and just trying to. Untangle all of this but ganondorf was not completely wrong here to be honest. The last thing we see of the game is link leaving outset with tetra but it’s not explained why
And a common interpretation is that like other zelda games he couldn’t ever truly return home and just couldn’t fit there anymore after what he’d been through. And while I think that’s part of it I think it goes deeper than that
What gives it away to me is ganondorf saying the ocean has no fish to catch. Which is surprising to hear at first? But when you think about it we DONT see any fish in the sea… or evidence of fishing….. there’s just monsters and the fishmen out there, no normal fish, and even the zora had to evolve to fly bc they presumably couldn’t live in saltwater… but the fact that nothing can live in there brings up a whole host of questions
There’s a fishing mini game in phantom hourglass. But not wind waker. And like. That’s on purpose??? your first game on the ocean doesn’t have a fishing game even though that seems like it would be an obvious choice. You can fish other places…. Just not in the great sea.

TOONA…….
So…. There’s no fishing in the great sea… no significant space for growing crops bc all the islands are very little….. only a small bit of livestock raising on outset…. And there’s only 2 islands that have a hylian community, and they’re just a handful of people. So like. there’s no space for the population to grow either and no way to feed a growing population if there was. So I think in this respect ganon is actually right???? That whats left of the people of hyrule have been pushed into this situation that’s causing them to stagnate if not slowly die out. and we don’t see these problems at first bc we’re seeing the world through link’s eyes. the eyes of a child and this is all he’s ever known but……….. The people really are struggling, aren’t they. Where they are they really can’t grow and become a thriving civilization again. And after hearing ganon point these problems out and leaving old hyrule behind once and for all….. I think it’s why he and tetra leave. Not really to establish a new hyrule for king, trying to replicate the old kingdom….. (clinging to the old kingdom and myths is something that hurt both link and tetra a lot) maybe it’s more about trying to preserve the people who are left. And find a place where there would be space to grow again. A place where there’s fish and just like. Enough to support a growing population. now the NAME new hyrule I would headcanon as a dedication to king. But I don’t think they’d try to find a new country unless there was a good reason that the people of the great sea needed to relocate.
They’ve been living in this dead zone their whole lives and even up top hyrule has no real future for them. And the only solution is to take fate into their own hands and leave to find something better. Which fits with wind waker’s running themes and Link not being the chosen hero! Warning that you can’t rely on faith to the point of refusing to help yourself
Like listen I . Of COURSE wind waker is so bright and toony from link’s eyes but holds all this pain underneath and once the illusion is broken it’s impossible for him to go back to his life on outset and not try to help. Not to mention that knowledge must be such a heavy burden for the two of them :(
But also!!!! They DO IT!!!!! and in spirit tracks we see this new country they built!!!! where they used their knowledge of steam engines and made trains so everything would be connected and easily accessible and all the towns exchange goods and rely on each other and
