#the key thing would be deciding who all is in the party when the doubles happen#luo binghe#liu qingge#shen qingqiu#and yue qingyuan#seem like the most obvious candidates#so far the only 'telling traits' I can think of would be#1) Shen Qingqiu's 'Luo Binghe' is impossibly suave and hits on any female figures within a radius#which leads everybody else to say 'Yeah that's fake' because they all know LBH only has eyes for SQQ#and 2) I think Yue Qingyuan's 'Shen Qingqiu' is kind of ragged and underfed#even now#he can't stop seeing him that way. a little bit.#oh 3) luo binghe's 'Liu Qingge' would just be OFFENSIVE. probably his 'YQY' too.#4) if Shang Qinghua is in the group that's going to make things difficult#because shang qinghua's doubles are almost all perfect#except for Shang Qinghua's 'Shen Qingqiu'#who he definitely gets wrong in some way#because Shen Qingqiu is the only one here that Shang Qinghua did not create

Further thoughts on this:

For a framing device let's pretend that there is some sort of terrible disease on Cang Qiong and the only cure is at the bottom of a mysterious temple. Hence why YQY, SQH, SQQ and LQG are all along, and LBH is of course along because he's not going to leave Shen Qingqiu alone with all these husband-snatching homewreckers *ahem* let his husband go off into danger alone.

This particular Airplaneism was probably originally a harem plot, mostly since that's really the only occasion in PIDW where multiple characters who actually know each other are in one place long enough for something like this to happen. It was of course Luo Bingge's job to sort out all the doubles and show off his intellect while doing so.

One variation off the original; the doubles can *only* be dispelled by the person who they belong to. So not only do they have to discern which doubles are fake, they also have to identify whose mind they came out of. (This was originally in order to reveal who in the harem was duplicitous and evil and who was a shining saint who thinks the best of everyone)

Of course, in the SVSSS version it is Shen Qingqiu who gets to show off his intellect/monster knowledge by doing detective work. Partly because when the doubles first appear his are the easiest to eliminate, since they don't have the abovementioned Shang Qinghua near-perfect double.

Shen Qingqiu's version of Shang Qinghua has actual literal hamster ears.
