for the most part I quite liked book gomens fan content. it was very grounded and realistic and the fans got it. they got it. they knew where things stood. I had fun with the gomens tv show but the fanbase was absolutely a nightmare and neilman was absolutely one of the reasons why. I mean naturally the fanbase wasn’t great since it was so much bigger, but people would routinely post the most vile, willfully ignorant, tone-deaf homophobia and transphobia and think they were being groundbreaking. I feel like it set us back ten years

#not to mention the HISTORICAL FANFIC #the book was a parody and clearly not meant to be taken too seriously #which is its own can of worms considering how flippantly it dealt with certain topics #but the way people took the historical settings and made actual human atrocities or tragedies the focal point fr their little fanfics #d/t the show #was so unbearable #oh my god and the acting was so shit. besides the main guys the acting was AWFUL. oh and the woman who played madame tracy #loved her. but otherwise #thinking about that show makes my blood pressure spike it was truly so insufferable I cannot believe I watched it THREE times no wonder #I moved on as soon as I found something better #cor.txt
