Having thoughts about The Boys that makes me want to become a videoessayist because the run-on paragraphs upon paragraphs of opinions I have about this show would make for an absolutely deranged post

#this post solely exists for me to empty my head in the tags #no one in the boys fandom that i've seen is doing any in-depth critical analysis of the things im Thinking about #and the only ppl i've heard Critical Analysis from at all either 1) hatewatched it with a group of friends #which is fair but definitely not the best analysis situation yk #or 2) did not watch it at all #and i dont want to dive into the realm of watching youtube videoessays specifically about how The Boys was good #bc i feel like it's gonna be comicbros who misinterpreted watchmen #and the little crit analysis videos i've seen have been like 'here's why the boys (tv show) is better than the boys (comic book)#and it's like Is That It #but yeah i watched Overly Sarcastic Productions video on satirizing superman and it's given me Many Thoughts #specifically about the weird combination of almost-grimdark-but-also-slapstick elements with protagonists w paragon ideals that bear fruit #but also about the fact that there is like. almost no sense of overt authorial intent when you watch it??#shit just Happens #and yet there is so much you can still analyze #Like I would Like To Talk About That With Someone
