1. i mentioned about having medical issues and some people got concerned so i just want to quickly explain the thing yk; in short it turns out having anxiety can cause heart arrhythmia ????? which can be like kinda dangerous;; but like in most cases it's fairly harmless so i should be alright :] !! still have to go check it out at the hospital (which i have been sorta putting off for a while bc yk. anxiety,, lol) but like other than it stressing me out a bit, everything is relatively fine :]

with boycott the caf gone basically (humourous but true insight/peek into the past), broomheads is mostly about fashion aspects (which i like!) and trends of the 2000s and the djh/high persuasion too. maybe people can suggest topics to share opinions. i gotta do something/contribute to fandom bc the show has ended and there's so much to talk about. just an idea. just wanted to see if anyone was interested or it's something i could pursue.

i do make art, write stories. when i feel like it i do post a lot off opinion pieces, prose, the occasional lovefest but i can have neutral viewpoints, universal comparing contrasting, breaking down things, etc. but i never did like the whole review thing, combined with all this. i think it'd be cool. I'll tag people who are frequently in the degrassi tag in the tags or people who post a lot of degrassi even if we all don't have the same opinions, i think we can all have a bit of fun in our investment the franchise that arguably brought a lot of people together. having different opinions open up debates and such, or looking at things from different povs and perspectives. it could be a good thing with connections to be made. who knows? who is interested? if it flops this is dead. i don't want it to be but oh well.

(Touching on your mouthwashing post) To me one of the worst parts of when a community ignores the “bad” stuff in the show/game/whatever is how it gives people unfamiliar with the topic the wrong impression. ESPECIALLY when people promote the thing and say stuff like “no spoilers but it has kinda sensitive topics :/“ and DO NOT ELABORATE

My personal experience looked like this: “why do I keep seeing art of this bandaged person” -> “oh it’s a cool new thing. Lotta people seem to like it, maybe I’ll check it out” -> “WHY DID NOBODY TELL ME RAPE WAS A MAJOR PLOT POINT??!?”

Im used to this happening since fandom in general prefers to focus on the characters (nothing wrong with that, a lot of people just like to create character driven content, especially in stories where the characters aren't fully fleshed out in favour of focusing on the narrative) but in the case of mouthwashing specifically I think its extremely odd since they're barely characters to begin with. Here is everything we know about daisuke:

Thats like. It. We don't even know any of his hobbies. He existed to be swanseas morality pet at the end (AND to show how swansea didn't do anything to help anya but then did as soon as daisuke (a man) was hurt. A lot of the fandom ignores this however bc they want to paint curly as uniquely evil and just as bad as jimmy). Wanting to explore underdeveloped characters is fine but there ARE no characters here. They are chess pieces to move the plot along. They are plot devices the devs use to say something about rape culture that is completely ignored bc zoomers who think being obsessed with found family makes them better than shippers get "uncomfy" when The Rape Game is about Rape, so then people look into it not knowing The Rape Game is about Rape. And I genuinely think that's part of why the rape flew over so many people's heads.

And to an extent that's understandable! When anya tells curly she's pregnant and then later says she told Jimmy and he wasn't happy, I could definitely see someone interpreting it as "the sex was consensual but Jimmy wasn't ready to be a father and took it out on anya" (which would still make Jimmy a monster) but the issue is that when so much of the fandom just chooses to ignore the actual plot, that doesn't get corrected. The mouthwashing fandom is divided into "found family workplace sitcom where Jimmy is dead and nothing bad happens (they can't engage in any work of fiction that makes them uncomfortable so they have to sanitise the unsanitisable. They probably call it 🍇. Or maybe that one YouTube i watched who called it 'foul play')" "curly is actually just as evil as Jimmy while Swansea and daisuke are angels who would have killed Jimmy if they knew (they choose to ignore how swansea DID know bc they want to paint him as a wholesome father figure for a grown ass Asian man)" and "isn't jimcurly soooooo toxic yaoi (they think that Jimmy is genuinely obsessed with curly as a person and not a concept)"

it's still a distant goal for me since I'm just in the beginner stage of my sewing journey but I really want to cosplay Choso from JJK and make a costume from scratch, and after some research I think I've figured out how to do it. I'm hoping these notes will motivate and inspire me to actually go through with this haha.

(heads up: I'm gonna get super detailed with my notes, it's like a legit blog post)

At first I didn't know what type of clothing Choso was wearing or how to deconstruct his outfit until episode 37 of the anime Red Scale came out recently and we got to see him in action, and it made it way easier for me to analyze his outfit (and draw up some sketches, none of which are shown here haha)

BTW my goal with this isn't to create a costume as accurate to canon as possible, but I do want to have it as a foundation that I can later modify to suit my beginner sewing skills and to add any personal touches.

Vest

I had the most trouble figuring out the purple vest (there's probably a more accurate name for it but that's what I'm calling it), but the breakthrough came when I realized that the sides from the shoulders down are completely open and tied together with a separate belt/obi at the waist (although it looks like it could also be sewn from the waist down to the hips; the ribcage area is definitely open though)

I'm still unsure about how that crisscross shape of the neckline works, probably folding over fabric, but to simplify it, I could just make a rectangular shape for the torso panels and cut a slit down the middle for the neck part and it would drape down the shoulders, or just cut it into a V-shape neckline

Choso's fandom wiki page says it's a gi (like the uniform used in martial arts) but this one doesn't have sleeves so idk I'll probably disregard that, I don't trust fandom wiki haha. That's probably where the crisscross neckline comes from though; I just wouldn't know how to make that.

The scarf also looks really simple too, probably just a circle scarf made of the same material as the vest and obi.

for the material, maybe a medium weight cotton? it looks like it has a texture to it but I won't be too picky if I can't find anything like that

Top

as for the white top I could borrow from a haori design and modify it so it's just not open in the front (more so just to make the long flowy sleeves)

material: maybe a light or medium weight breathable cotton or linen (but not too thin or see through), or a polyester/synthetic or poly blend (I probably won't use synthetic fabrics though)

Pants

I'm not sure what style of pants/trousers these are, but I've seen a style called bontan that are pretty similar which are baggy like this and I'll probably refer to that; and it's not shown in these examples, but there's also a black (elastic?) waistband; there could be an elastic cuff but also the hem could just be cut shorter and have bandages wrapped around the shin/calves, or I could also use kyahan leggings. I think I'll just go with the elastic cuffs on the hems though since the boots will cover the ankles anyway.

I'll probably just use the same material as the top but add a lining or double layers as a reinforcement

I briefly considered that the pants could be a tattsuke-hakama style and combine it with the kyahan (kinda like designs for the characters in demon slayer), but those are pleated, and Choso's pants aren't like that, they're just wide and baggy.

I have a few pairs of combat boots I can wear to complete the outfit (if I wanted to be dead on accurate I would need a pair of Doc Martens boots but I'm not too picky about that, I'll just use what I have)

Hair & makeup

I'll probably end up buying a wig and style it into the bangs and buns bc my natural hair is very fine and doesn't hold any style!

I've already tried a few different makeup looks just for funsies, but generally I go with either a reddish or purple-ish eyeshadow all around the eyes and heavily line my eyes with black gel liner. Plus contour the nose and inner eye socket before creating the black mark across the nose with liner (and shadow to set it). Also, bushy brows.

I'm not one of those girlies who wears makeup all the time, and when I do it's not really heavy, and I don't wear foundation or any other complexion products, but since Choso kinda has pale skin, I could maybe use it and powder and contour my face to enhance the tired/ghostly look. I don't really want to do that though bc I don't think I want to keep touching up my makeup through the day if I ever go to a con. It might look weird and unbalanced to not have a perfect smooth base with such heavy eye makeup but that's just my thing.

I also think he would look good with dark nail polish and piercings, so I'll add those as my own little details.

Final thoughts

Generally speaking, since I'm a beginner and my goal is to create this costume by May/June 2024, I still have a lot of time to practice and to do further research. I just wanted to put my notes together now to inspire and motivate me.

I've seen so many people cosplay Choso already and I love their interpretations! They're also giving me inspiration on what I can do with my own cosplay.

I realize that cosplay doesn't need to be accurate to canon, and being 'accurate' doesn't make it better, but I'm just using the canon accurate clothing more as a template so that I can then modify it to suit my preferences, like following a recipe precisely and then making changes to it once you've learned the basics.

And I'm gonna try to avoid using synthetic fabrics bc I don't wanna create more plastic waste, even if they may be cheaper (and more durable?) than natural fabrics

Anyway, idk if anyone is actually interested in this except myself, but I'll be providing updates whenever I can. Once I've reached a point where I'm ready to start making clothes, I'll start off by making a mock up using muslin or some other cheap fabric I can find in a thrift shop like I've seen others do, before I fully commit to making the final costume.

So this is one of the episodes I watched the first time with Daci over rabb.it. (That was actually our first "date," which is THE MOST LESBIAN THING EVER. Literally watching She-Ra online together in voice chat because we were long-distance.)

And I know this because I made a joke post about it to tumblr referencing K/DA, my fandom obsession at the time. That was on April 30th, 2019. I think that was the day Daci bought the plane tickets for their first visit. They moved in with me less than a year after that first visit.

And I agree with you, you can't help wondering if you are doing something wrong if the engagement drops. No matter how often people say it's not you, it's the platform. And, as you say, people are still getting good engagement, so the fandom isn't dead.

I try to post and not think about it after that, but that's not natural either for fandom. Fandom thrives on community and just posting into the void like I'm not part of a community doesn't feel particularly good. Of course, I'm not good at reaching out to others, so art is one of the few ways I have of "communicating". (Even though most of the time I'm not sure what I'm saying with my art. It's probably just an inarticulate :DDDD or >:3 *lol*)

I have my art side blog @theark-ofvoid with which I switched urls, and an horror side blog that is very heavy @the-spiral-distortion I also have a side blog for all my weeb stuff but tumblr shadowbanned it and I can't tag it.

Hm... I once had another blog before this one that I made in 2012 but I had to nuke it because some irl jerks found it and harassed me... so, I guess almost 9 years. Shit, I am old.

No, I queued only a couple of things for meme reasons but no. If you don't see me post for a while it's how I meant it to be. Only my artblog has a queue.

As I said... I was really really really really really into creepypastas and ARGs and specifically MH, and the tumblr fandom in 2012 was very active and wide. Now it is almost dead.

Drew it myself to represent me, but I am disliking it now and I may have to draw a new one.

See, I know that this is true of the characters in MDZS, bc it's really funny to me that people argue about which Mr./Ms. War Crimes is really the Worst War Crime Doer of Them All, but it REALLY makes me feel that we would, as a fandom, REALLY not survive any of my old Wuxia faves.

Because like, on a scale of "Xue Yang" to "in his first introductory scene tosses a guy's head severed on the table in a stranger's house (also apparently dug out the guy's lungs and liver somewhere so yeah whoops)" Xue Yang is morally a terrible person in his universe of origin while say, Qiu Chuji is really just a righteous honorable asshole his shixiong keeps trying to child leash. Ma Yu spends most of his time on the page smiling politely and hoping that Poor Hotheaded Shidi's not causing more problems somewhere.

And this isn't even getting into all the background murder people do like it's normal in this universe! There's a woman I ADORE in this universe who's killed 99 people to PRACTICE MARTIAL ARTS. So she can go kill more people better to be clear. Like, she is very much an evil serial killer but I love her!!! She's amazing and she loves her special evil boy very much. The most honorable character in LOCH has murdered 231 people and he's counting but he made sure to check that they were shitty before they got the axe so it's okay! NO REGRETS!

If LQR marched around keeping his kill count list in the triple digits and also have an absolutely iconic scene where he tells a Crimes Person "I have killed 231 people. You're next. :)" the fandom would melt down I feel. Like the "Lan Qiren is not only homophobic but also EVIL" posts would circulate.

Like if we talked about the characters in LOCH the way we do with MDZS it's like, where does the outrage end. Where does it begin? How do you judge? What are we saying about the "brought a 13-14 year old to a killing people party where we kill over a hundred people in total" ?????

HE DID CRIMES!!!" and it's like yeah....but Huang Yaoshi is also the sexiest man alive and an absolute tortured dilf so we're stuffing the "ripped out the leg tendons of his disciples," "imprisoned and tortured a man with torture flute music every night for 15 years for the crime of *checks notes* oh yes saying "congrats on your wife being dead!!!! :DDD"" "put his son-in-law and best friend and the aforementioned 15 year prisoner on a suicide boat in a fit of temper," "attempted murder of lots of people who the narrator even SAYS is unreasonable murder lots of times," "lives on a killer maze island avoided by all the neighbors," "killed a servant as an example of "I am very angry!!!"" and "tortures more people with torture flute music" in the closet. He can't do that if he isn't also instantly regretting his crimes! (Also he loves his daughter. That is very important to me. But yeah this is kind of why I find the moral outrage of "your fictional little man did CRIMES!!! CRIMES! CRIMES I TELL YOU!" of the meta posts sometimes....really rather funny. "Yeah he did crimes. Do them more! do them harder! do it again! I love crimes!"

it is actually routinely hilarious to me that fandom talks about the number of war crimes everyone has committed and how terrible they are, and "can [X Character] EVER recover from their heinous crimes?????"

And then there's me, who comes from classic wuxia where everyone does approximately 300% more crimes going ????? and then you get. you get this line about REALLY quite minor characters in LOCH Chapter Three "Winds of the Steppes" (emphasis mine):

"Although the Seven Freaks were all very righteous and moral individuals, they were also all very proud and acted very strange, making them well deserving the title of "Seven Freaks of Jiangnan". Each was a master of kungfu and they always worked together, so they have never come out on the short end of the struggle when going up against others in the martial world. Several years ago they got into a fight with the Huaiyang Clan, the seven of them killed over a hundred or so of the Huaiyang Clan members on the shores of the Yangtze. Just a causal party brunch to be known throughout the jianghu for! Killed a hundred or so people between the seven of you! This is ALSO the event where the Seven Freaks became sworn siblings though they'd all known and loved each other before this.

I'd also like to mention that uhhh Han Xiaoying, the youngest of the Seven Freaks, is introduced the chapter before (chronologically a few days before this information is given to us by the narrator) as "a fisher girl with a copper oar, about seventeen or eighteen years of age."

The Seven Freaks are well known but hardly major jianghu characters in LOCH. They've killed at least a hundred people together in a fight with a minor clan of thugs sometime ago. That is the level of casual violence that would never happen in MDZS. 😌 Hope this helps explain where I'm coming from.

I was at this summer street party at night and got drunk on something made out of tropical herbs and cachaça (which is about 48% alcohol), drank 3 and a half bottles of that like it was apple juice, made friends with a bunch of strangers in a bathroom queue (who tried to talk to me weeks later but I had no idea who they were), had to be held by my best friend while I peed (mostly missing the toilet), fell in the middle of the street and scraped my knee, threatened this boy who was helping me walk and told him not to try anything funny or I would beat him up, then dragged my friends to the beach and left them shortly after to go make out with my ex, came back with lipstick all over my mouth and chin and when my friends asked what I was doing I said I was just talking to my ex and they were like NO YOU WERE NOT, hahaha then I kissed all my girl friends on a dare and we danced under the full moon, then I told my best friend I had to puke so she took me to the ocean but I changed my mind and happened to step on a dead turtle on the way back and started crying bc of it, but last month my best friend told me it was a rock I had stepped on (I believed it was a dead turtle for 7 years!). Had the worst hangover of my life the next day. ✌️✨

Oh I could talk about Dani and Jamie forever I think. I love the beast in the jungle speech too and it's so painful to watch, VP delivered that beautifully, but I have to admit I'm always a crying mess from episode 1 when older Jamie starts reciting that song about being sad while waiting for her lover to return, this show is fucking cruel I hate it and love it at the same time hahaha. I used to draw a lot, really loved doing it when I was a kid as I said before, and all throughout adulthood too but I haven't done that in almost a year now bc I've got a bit of a case of burnout I guess, it just takes a lot of effort to do it when it shouldn't be like that at all. I used to do fanart too, for other fandoms. Even made one for Dani x Jamie but ended up not liking how it turned out haha. I've got a lot of respect for writers and fanfic writers also! Yall can make words make sense in really interesting and beautiful ways, build worlds so enthralling I can see them vividly in my head. Writing is such an incredibly fascinating skill to have! And I guess the most important thing is that we enjoy doing these things right? Even if we think we're not particularly good at it.

GOD I ENVY YOU ajskskks i'm an introvert and like.... i can't start or hold a conversation. mdzs is pretty much the first fandom that made me actually talk to people and get friends? i've got a bunch of mutuals where we don't really talk but y'know we like know, which is cool bcs all of them are intimidating af but i love them. then i got a couple of mutuals that i talk and shit post with and just, talk to? one of them is like.... really late in answering conversations but then again 98% of our conversations is me making her cry over wangxian. so that's fair ig. there's a mutual of mine that is learning my language, so sometimes we'll start talking in it and i will tell her if her grammar or anything sounds weird. i like ur interpretation of hannibals feelings for will ! i do have a bit of trouble being as optimistic about it as other people in the fandom. i kind of don't really know where the control freakism starts and where it ends w his feelings for him. you're right that he didn't choose who he loves, which i'm sure made him ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS, BECAUSE HOW DARE, but also so he can play chess with will properly instead of just making him a pawn he does have to relinquish some control... and he can't just detach himself emotionally from the situation, he's in love... but then it means he has to give up control. i love willnibal so much, i love writing it so much, it's so fucking complicated.

Hello again, sorry I was at a wedding last night trying to wrangle small children that aren't mine.

My notes have like insightful little quips and then bullshit like: "Fucking monster. Licked a newspaper." Like, ah yes. They're going to give the cannibal glue. No, no they won't. But he sure did lick that newspaper for his weird little scrapbook.

I'm not going to lie, the reason I've actually thought about watching Manhunter is cause of you. My one friend told me the movie isn't very good (I'm notoriously bad at watching bad films) but I wanted to be able to interact with your art for those things because I like your art so much. Also now that I am an unhinged Hannibal fan, he got me to watch Hannibal Rising (i think I told him I wanted my time and money back), SOTL and Red Dragon. My first thought when seeing Norton as Will was "Really? The fight club guy?" But i remember so little of the film other than 'wow, Freddie Lounds is a dick whether he has one or not' and 'hehehe exercise leash'. And then with SOTL I was like "wow, good thing all these characters appear to be the pinnacle of mental health." But they sure didn't seep into my brain. I might try watching them again. But I def want to watch Manhunter. Give me insane. I'm down for the sickness (brain rot).

Also, give me the fan designs. I'm still a partial Witcher fan, so I love seeing the book designs people come up with. I love that for people! I love that for me!

The weird thing about Hannibal's feelings is that he's so blasé about them. I think at first he saw Will, and was intrigued about the potential of being seen. But clearly it wasn't the superpower it was practically claimed to be. After all, Will looked him dead in the eyes and didn't see the creature behind the veil. But maybe Hannibal saw something else in those eyes that wouldn't settle. Like a feral animal curled into itself, eyes darting around, looking for the best and quickest exit. Unlike when he met Lass, who was hardworking and smart, he kept her because of that intelligence. Will had something, but he wasn't sure what. And I think that's why when he says he was curious about what Will would have done with Hobbs when he had placed that phone call, I believe him. Will was either going to be another of Jack's bloodhounds stolen from under his nose, or he was going to be something else. I think that Hannibal struggles with some form of depression, the surface level attachments to his creature comforts, so the boredom is stifling. Hannibal himself is so incredibly nuanced and shifts from "Will is my friend" to "Guess I have to eat him" in the same conversation. I don't think Will was ever safe from Hannibal's knife. At least not until like S3 finale. The issue with an emotion you're not used to is its volatile, and we can see that in how Hannibal talks of Will and to Will. I do think that he joined Jack in helping to groom Will to kill himself, because it would be a worthy challenge.

I know some of the Fandom elevate Will to a god-adjacent status in Hannibal's eyes. But again, I think that comes and goes. I think there are moments where Hannibal looks at Will and sees the God of Righteous Fury, and other times he sees the man who is ruining his life. Hannibal's body language and facial expressions are all very neutral (props to Mads Mikkelsen for that), so you have to watch his eyes and mouth for the smallest flickers. And they are small. Matthew Brown was a fool and a tool, but he was right about the eyes.

NBC Hannibal's past is very patchwork-y but from what I could scrape together he would have stopped speaking Lithuanian around the time he was mute, would have shifted into at least understanding or attempting to understand Russian (soviet occupied Lithuania) before he fled to France. In France he was still a mute. NBC specifically said his Uncle Robertus took him in at 16. Boarding school. So we can assume he learned French in boarding school. Japanese would have been next up, Lady Murasaki and Chiyoh would have used it to speak to each other, both so far from home, it would have helped ease the homesickness. So I do believe Hannibal would have learned Japanese. But Japanese would be tied to another heartbreak (like Lithuanian) when Murasaki sends Hannibal away after he refuses to stop stabbing people. He goes to his mother's homeland of Italy, and eventually settles in Florence, where he learns Italian and comes to grow into the man we know today. So that's why I advocated hard for Italian nicknames. And why I think that language for Hannibal is important, but also an insane field filled with landmines.

I have never purposefully deleted any fanart, the only reason they're gone is that I lost the original files, and hosted the images on sites that were unreliable or now defunct (like imageshack or tinypic). I am going to try to redraw some of them eventually though! I hate seeing the dead links :(

Could you help me find [fic example]?

I have answered this in more detail on the faq page of my recs site but the short of it is; you're welcome to ask me anything! But I can't promise I can help all that much with newer fic/themed recommendations. I've listed some other helpful links on my recs faq if you're interested.

Why is some of your fic under another name?

I made thewordsleep as a way to try out other fandoms, but I'm happy with those fics so I've listed them here. I haven't moved them all over to my main account because I'm told people are subscribed to that profile in case I update there.

Why haven't you answered my ask/message?

I'm so sorry! I definitely try to answer them all, but my inbox gets flooded with bots and tumblr eats old asks sometimes bc I'm bad at getting back to people in a timely manner. If you can be bothered, you can send duplicates of the same message so I can notice it faster ;_; sorry again, I want to be friend.

What programs/hardware do you use for your fanworks?

I use Adobe Photoshop 2020 and I've started using Krita for sketching (which is completely free to use). I draw using a Intous Wacom, and I use Sony Vegas 16.0 for vidding. My art and texture resources can be found right here, under resources.

In regards to using my fanworks as prompts or inspiration for fic, vid cons, or anything else:

Go for it! Whatever it's for, I really appreciate being told about it in a comment or message in advance. Links to whatever it's used for are also nice. You can contact me if there are any issues with downloading videos, or if there's expired links or some such, and I'll try to help out if I can!

Claim my work as your own! Please do not copy my works to another site (i.e wattpad/ffn/ao3/pinterest/goodreads). im high key jealous of how tumblr famous you are bc i've been posting my calligraphy for years and get one or two likes at the most and you're amazing at it but i can't help but be bitter :(

i mean i transferred from my fandom blog, which when i started had like. 6k followers probably. and i do p much any request someone sends me. people are much more likely to reblog a thing they specifically requested than a thing that you like yourself tbh. In the last week I’ve done over 150 requests alone--it is about quality, but sometimes it’s just “can you do a massive quantity of asks at once.”

the calligraphy tag can be kinda dead on tumblr, so the trick is to do calligraphy where you can tag something else--with me i do a lot of femslash related things, like when i made the “let emma frost fuck jean grey” piece. there are some people reblogging that for aesthetic of my piece alone, but the main reason why it was successful was because you take what people like and enjoy, and make it into something that is relatively rare--there isnt that much calligraphy out in fandom, esp for a rarepair.

you can see that i use a liberal amount of tags--although don’t spam. and by that by all means if it applies to your post use that tag and as many as you can, but people are going to be Annoyed if they keep seeing ur work when they shouldnt. you don’t get popular by putting stuff in the calligraphy tag--include it definitely, bc that’s how other calligraphy blogs can reblog your things but it’s the other tags that make you popular and get the Extra notes.

also i often will get less than 10 notes on a post that i worked hard on, and the absolute worst thing is when the person who requested free art from me doesn’t even like it, let alone reblog it--like i assume that if you request it it would go along with your brand enough to go on your blog, which is you, but no i will often post requests without a single reblog, or maybe a reblog from one person and not the original asker.

There was a story i saw on here--about a professor who did an experiment about making pots. One half of the class was instructed to make one pot per day, and to make that pot the perfect pot. The other half of the class was told to just make as many as they could in a single period. At first, the one a day pots were the best, but the professor began noticing by the end the same thing in every class--the half that practiced a ton by making multiple pots started to have the best pots. The practice and experience from making so many pots over and over and over again was the best one--and that’s part of why I do requests, and why I do so many during the year.

I might not be the best calligrapher, but I can do a lot extremely fast and because I practice so much I don’t get tired easily. I also am p privileged financially, so I can have a bunch of pretty inks that people enjoy.

with social media, it’s not necessarily a comparison in art skill so much as “how good are you at navigating this type of social media” and i’m gonna be frank my talent are sub par at best--trust me, i’m not exaggerating or putting myself down I practiced like 2 types of font for hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of hours and there are people just starting who require just a little bit more practice and they’ll be better than me. this is just practice--

but i do know fairly well how to navigate this hell site.

tl;dr i’m probably not a better calligrapher than you (i dont know who u are so nothing definitive) but I am probably better at social media
