...My mad scientist instincts are kicking in again. Thinking about creating a breed specifically designed to look like a cottontail rabbit..... by crossing brown Silvers to chestnut Britannia Petites,,,

That said they'd probably end up with the attitude of a real cottontail too - as in, will either bite your hand off if you try to touch it or will go batshit crazy trying to run away from you in captivity. In which case you'd probably be better off just happily watching your local cottontails in your backyard. But! They would be cute af. And maybe with some extra careful breeding and culling you could end up with some that are at least tolerant of people.
